Hotel Kaktus Playa - Adults Recommended

This hotel is beautiful. We stayed here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Everywhere was spotless & our room was extremely comfortable & modern with a lovely view over the sea. All the staff were very welcoming & professional. There was a huge choice of delicious food morning & evening, with Leli & her team making sure everyone was well catered for. The reception staff gave us loads of information on the area & travel ideas, especially for our trip to Barcelona by train from the local station. We will definitely stay here again & hope to return soon.

Where to start with this gem of sunshine! Location. Arrived into Girona Airport with a 35 minute drive to Kaktus Hotel, calella! Hotel Checked into a Urban room with Balcony Street View, room massive, clean and modern, plenty of storage, king size bed, large light windows with electronic screens for privacy, refrigerator, TV, Telephone, safe, WIFI, desk, sofa. Beds were spacious and super comfy! A little outside noise, but nothing to intrusive. The Hotel offers two pools, we paid extra for the Sky Lounge and worth every penny, breathtaking sea views, panoramic pool and plenty of sun loungers. We paid 20 euro a day, but free if you are staying in the suite or nature rooms. For 20 euro we had great views, great service and occasionally complimentary treats, croissants, champagne, fruit juice. We had lunch every day and the food was exceptional. Food The breakfast buffet was nothing I had seen before for a hotel, the abundance of food on offer and quality was out of this world! The restaurant was super clean, staff lovely and friendly. As a vegetarian, I was well catered for. Best buffet I had ever had, wished more hotels would follow the same quality and standard. Nighttime The roof top bar is a great place to relax, have a drink and look out at the stars! Overall I loved it, it was a weekend break and I can't wait to book again! If you want to go and relax with the beach on your doorstep, this is just the place!

Cousins holiday brought us to the kaktus playa hotel , we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Tere on reception who was quite wealth of knowledge from what's in the hotel to the bes eateries in town (her seafood recommendation of la peixateria was a delight. The room on first inspection unfortunately had been let down by the house keeping staff but was quickly rectified when we informed reception so no harm done. The rooms are spacious and the storage and bathroom spaces are generous (open the bathroom mirror ladies ) .The downstairs pool is not as large as it first appears in photos but this is not an issue as there is also a infinity pool on the roof deck for 20 euro a room (well worth it) vs the cost of beach sunbeds . The deck has relaxing music attentive staff ( the fabulous sunshine that is Celia) and is a real sun trap for those sun worshipers. The breakfast is a foodies paradise, different variations each day, you will be rolling yourself out I assure you ... beach body ...bye bye . The location is a few minutes walk from the beach and 5 /10 minutes walk to the main shopping street and eateries of Calella . A great hotel of which we would be happy to return to . Our only note is that there is no entertainment of an evening besides the rooftop music which isn't for everyone . This didn't phase us but understand some holiday goers enjoy hotel entertainment of an evening .

really enjoyed our stay at the Kaktus playa last July! main disappointment were the poor condition of the limited sun beds! Before we consider re booking could you enlighten me as to whether the sun beds have been replaced? This is a deal breaker for us as we are sun worshippers! thankyou

Stayed here over Christmas and new year,had the best time brilliant evening entertainment and Christmas and new year party. Afternoon and early evening quizzes and other stuff were put on something for everyone.All the staff from reception to cleaners are friendly and approachable and do their best to make your stay memorable,the lounge and bar staff work very hard food is of a high standard and the lady on the entrance to the dining room is lovely and greets everyone with a smile.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a first class stay in Calella

i had an absolutely amazing stay at the hotel kaktus playa this june. i stayed there with leger holidays as part of their barcelona grand prix package - and from start to finish i was highly impressed by this hotel. for a starter, the location is excellent - calella is a beautiful town, and the hotel is maybe three minutes walk from the beautiful coastline there, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. just a small 10 minute or so walk will take you to the main shopping district of calella where you can find amazing small stores filled with lots of memorabilia to take home with you. the staff at the hotel are insanely helpful and are lovely and friendly, always up for a chat and regardless of where you’re from or what languages you speak always make an effort with you. there were plenty of dutch, british, spanish and german guests when i was there - and everyone was treated the same by the lovely catering team. the rooms are incredibly well decorated and clean with amazing views on the balconies - i stayed in a mediterranean double room, and i can single handedly say the rooms are the cleanest and nicest standard i’ve stayed in any hotel ever. also, the dimmable lights and walk in showers were a lovely touch in the evening. food wise the buffet was absolutely incredible with an amazing variation of dishes that anybody can enjoy - regardless of how picky you are, there’s something for you, and if you have dietary requirements everything is labelled clearly and they cater very very well. the variety of alcoholic drinks and wines specifically was beyond impressive and you’d never get stuck feeling like there’s nothing for you - because they have something for EVERYBODY. i didn’t use the pool however it was very clean and the bars were the same, highly clean with lovely staff who paid attention to every detail and every person. will definitely be staying at the kaktus playa again during my next visit to calella!! thank you for the most amazingly memorable stay 🤍
