Hilton Cardiff

Castle|2.92km from Celtic Park
We stayed at the Hilton Cardiff for four days at the end of March 2023. We really enjoyed our stay! The people at reception made us feel very welcomed, and couldn’t have been nicer! ALL of the people who work here were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to give a special thank you to Mark, the night manager. He was always cheerful - at the beginning AND at the end of his shift in the morning, which is not easy! He even kindly got us a bucket of ice very early one morning when my wife hurt her knee as she was stepping out of bed and the bed rolled away from her. We spoke to Mark about the incident, and hopefully, by now, they have fixed the “rolling coasters with no brakes on the box springs” problem. Mark was so kind and concerned about her fall that he checked on her twice - right after the incident and even the next day, which was the last day of our stay. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of hot and cold food offerings and was maintained to perfection by the attentive and efficient staff! The buffet was hosted by Bassam, who was very personable and interesting to talk with. The executive lounge was lovely, with beverages and a few snacks available throughout the day. There is an evening manager’s reception and some savory finger foods were offered each night. Our room had a stunning view of Cardiff Castle and the castle grounds! We would happily return to Hilton Cardiff, and we thank them for making our stay really memorable and pleasant. As a side note, we took the Cardiff Castle Ghost Tour and highly recommend it! It’s great to be able to tour the castle at night, and the two hosts were full of fun facts and historical information about the beautiful and “over the top” decor of the castle!

We stayed here one night and it was perfect for what we needed! We are a family of 5 with 3 young adult children and it’s hard to find a hotel room to accommodate 5 people. Steve was very nice, present, let us check in early and leave our bags the next morning while we toured the castle before catching our next train. His communication was excellent before and during our stay. The room was clean. The shower was hot and with good water pressure. The garden out back was a lovely place to sit and read. Location was very good - very close to the castle, stadium and main shopping area. I would recommend.

Just returned from a 3 night stay, was in Cardiff for a family wedding. Have to say the staff were friendly, informative and very accommodating. Wedding was on Friday and the maltsters arms very kindly allowed us to have dinner with them on Saturday night, there was 18 of us!!! Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff for the most amazing food, from starters to desserts and delicious drinks and cocktails 5 stars. We would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. The manager sorry can’t remember your name, was friendly and helpful. Lastly to Ben for his hospitality and professionalism in helping to book us all in on Saturday night, it was a wonderful ending to all of our trip to beautiful Cardiff. Here is a delightful venue for visiting Cardiff. We enjoyed a one night stay in a comfortable, spotlessly clean room followed by a freshly cooked delicious full Welsh breakfast. The owners and their team were friendly and most helpful. Ideally situated within a 10/15 minutes walk to the city through Sophia Gardens yet far enough out to be on a reasonably quiet main road. Plenty of non city centre pubs close by. Perfect venue for the cricket ground. We will return.

Stayed at the start of December, it wasn't in the actual hotel building itself it was in a separate building in the back courtyard which was accessible through the main dining room and conservatory. Out of hours there was a secure key gate and private walkway by the side of the hotel to go through. The room itself was clean and tidy. I stayed in a twin room which was perhaps a mistake as the duvet felt too small for the bed, although it would have been fine for a child, before you think it, yes I am medium build and height. Shower and toilets were fine. Very trivial things, batteries on the remote control didn't work and low stock on the teas and coffee in the room. Room was quiet other than being woken up by the bin lorry at 6.30am (Wednesday morning) but that wasn't the hotel fault. Staff were friendly, I would stay again but just choose a different room next time.

The housing environment is satisfactory, but the streets are full of slippery dead leaves that are not cleaned and can easily cause slips. Satisfied with overall service Satisfactory indoor hygiene The facilities are complete, but there are many scratches on the inner wall of the frying pan and should be replaced. The TV remote control may not be usable without power.
