We absolutely loved Colina village the rooms are massive basic but you still get everything you need for self catering you get big fridge freezer kettle toaster microwave oven hob , the is a tv with English channels and all bathrooms are provide with 2in1 soap and towels and cleaned every 2 days The receptionist was friendly and even helped us to say few words in Portuguese our toaster broke and once told receptionist it was replaced within few hours The pool area is lovely plenty beds no need to reserve first thing not sure if this is the case full summer There is a restaurant on site and they all were so attentive and the food is really good although didn’t have breakfast but had lunch and few evening meals very friendly and even during day any drinks or food they will bring to you round the pool the sangria is amazing can’t do enough for you Carvoeiro is a lovely hidden gem it’s about 30 min walk from Colina or about 4 euro in Uber the place is stunning lots bars restaurants it’s bigger than it looks and lovely cobble streets with shops bars restaurants or if you go up the hill lots bars with groups and karaoke best both worlds All in all we’ve had a fabulous week and not only would we be back we going to book for same time next years as there so much to do and see and we like to stay in quiet area nip in to the town perfect place for us No entertainment at Colina but again it’s not far into town in taxi 3/4 mins Thank you to all staff at colina for all you have done for us

Unhelpful staff, if you have a food allergy/intolerance don't expect much care to be taken. Expect to be treated with disdain. I have celiac disease and when I'd ask if something on the menu was gluten free I would be met with a blank stare and silence. Or they would say they don't know. I'm not sure how a restaurent doesn't know what's in their food but this is extremely concerning. Some items they could confirm were gluten free. Not many options available. I once accidentally ordered an onion soup without checking first, assuming it would be gluten free but it had a bit of toast floating in it (not described on menu). They couldn't confirm if the soup was gf without the toast. They told me off and said 'you should always ask first as everything has gluten in' in a very sassy tone. Lesson learned! Last night the AC started making loud drill like noises out of nowhere at about 3am (impossible to sleep and I hadn't touched it). I asked for help at 4:30am as I couldn't sleep and no apology, the man behind the desk seemed annoyed, did nothing and said 'sort tomorrow'. Muttering all the while angrily under his breath which was very intimidating. No apology given. Overall rude staff that don't care/have little training in customer service and a very dated and smelly room. Avoid if food allergies as they don't cater well and will make you feel like an irritation/nuisance.

We went to Colina village as a family group of 14, our time was amazing the rooms were lovely (clean, fully equipped, comfortable beds and very spacious) the staff were also very helpful and kind whenever we needed anything or help getting about. Pool and dining area was always clean and tidy. Wished the indoor pool was heated though as it would attract so much more guest during out of season times. Overall our stay was amazing so thank you.

Excellent spacious accommodation and facilities in a beautiful rural setting. Loved the indoor pool and the air conditioning. Convenient location but you need a car as beach and shops a little distant. Quiet with lovely grounds for a good rest

Firstly I would like to say the staff were very friendly throughout our 2 day stay at collina village, could not fault them at all. Which was very helpful after an early flight etc. Food was basic we only had the breakfast which wasn't alot of choice, scrambled egg, bacon ,toast and cereals, yogurts were very watery and not much flavour, but it filled a hole for us to go and explore. The board walk was a beautiful walk with my partner as we enjoy walking so really enjoyed this part of the holiday, the views were outstanding, we couldn't enter any caves as they were all shut off with gates across ,I think it was due to the weather being windy. The carveneiro village was about 5 minutes in taxi from our apartment which was great, we used a bolt like uber which was incredibly useful for us as we like to explore new places . The apartment... well it was spacious, very basic, the beds were hard , no hot water in the apartment ,we had one bath a day between us as the water went cold after one shower or bath, and did not heat up till the next day. The kitchen had everything really you needed, but I would never stay here again especially with children, we had bed bugs in our bed and contained bites all over our faces. The reception man said we would have a maid clean our room with fresh towels and toilet roll each day ,we did not receive that. Very cheap ,dated apartment it was OK for a place to stay whilst exploring as a couple but would never take the children. The food on carveneiro was outstanding especially the casa algarvia, and the tapas restaurant opposite Levels, another great bar to attend was mungos in carveneiro, fantastic couple who run this bar, who made our stay in carveneiro the best .

Enjoyed our stay. The property is old and traditional. The grounds are well kept. The staff were exceptionally courteous. We ate twice at the restaurant and the food was excellent. It is a 25 minute walk to the beach and a 8 euro cab back after having a few beverages. Feragudo and Portimao are close by and the grocery store is about a 10 minute walk. If you have transportation you will find it a very nice area without the hustle and bustle of the beach area. Not a new and splashy resort but an excellent choice regardless. Thoroughly recommend!

Just arrived back from a week at Colina Village. The first thing I’d say is all the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful which was a great start. This was particularly important on our first day as we arrived in terrible weather and the rain had leaked through the roof of our apartment. Reported to reception who quickly moved us into another like for like room which was a big relief. The rooms are decent, if a little dated. Beds especially could really do with new mattresses as they’re rock hard and they’ve seen better days. You’re limited on hot water before the boiler needs to fill back up, we needed to spread our showers out between the 4 of us over an hour or two - not ideal but didn’t cause much of an issue as we were rarely rushing anywhere. There’s zero Wi-Fi in pretty much every area even communal ones - none at all in rooms, which was a big downside for the kids. Cleaning service was brilliant, they came every day and replaced towels, toilet roll etc. The restaurant was never even close to busy which is rarely a good sign - we either went out or cooked at the apartment as the couple of families we asked about it were both very critical, which mirrors a lot of the reviews I’d read before booking. All in all we had a decent enough stay, especially at the price, but I don’t think we’d go back to Colina. There are several better options nearby for a slightly higher cost.
