The Lion Inn

Rooms were really nice, we even had a balcony! Loverly and clean. Cant fault the staff they were amazing helping us sort out our vouchers making sure we was never over charged. The food was amazing and cocktails were great too. The grounds were beatiful especially on a sunny day. Defo a place to stay if your in boreham! Perfect lil get away for me and my boyfriend.

Went to a Charity Ball here on Saturday. What a fantastic venue. As you walk through the reception area into the bar, the place oozes class. The main hall and the tables were tastefully decorated, with ample room for the dance floor. The food that we were served was hot, delicious and plentiful - all served by friendly, smiling staff. There was a good selection of beers, wines and spirits and the bar staff were always aware of who was next and served you as quick as they could with levels of service that ensured you had enough ice and lime in your gin for example. The army of staff all being expertly drilled by the lovely, ever smiling Georgina. I really can’t think of a better venue for any special occasion.

Stopped off on the way back from Ikea, Steph our waitress was amazing and the food was just as good, didn't need to book walked straight in, the Halibut off the daily specials was really good and fillet steak cooked just how the wife likes it. thank you

Highly recommend the murder mystery night! I really hope the lion inn organise more than one next year as we would love to go. The actors were fantastic and the food was delicious. We need more nights like this.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant. Stay there if at all convenient! I had the pleasure to stay at the Lion Inn about 10 times in June-September 2023, when working on a project nearby. Cannot fault it - comfortable, spacious and well-decorated rooms, bathrooms with baths and plenty of hot water, desks and WiFi in every room and professional and friendly service. Very close to A12, so a great alternative to a Premier Inn or similar in Chelmsford or other larger towns. Very fair value, when you take into account delicious breakfast included in the room rate. Have not reviewed the restaurant separately, but every dish I had was excellent. Recommend very highly!

We arrived very early (12:30) needing a space to log onto a medical zoom not only did the team sort out our room they juggled the hotel to accommodate the very limited mobility I have! Even taking note of my specific condition and requirements (Arwen and Beverley specifically) Food was fantastic and well priced, service was impeccable from all. Our room was amazing will definitely be back and can’t recommend highly enough

Great service and very friendly helpful staff. Comfy beds nice dark room. Everything you need for an overnight stay Great breakfast too, the avocado and poached egg was delicious. Nice expresso martini before heading out to a party.

Lovely friendly staff and a nice hotel. The breakfast was nice but didn't get a chance to try the restaurant other than breakfast. Would stay again if we are in the area. There was a big party of us and no complaints.
