Lovely quirky clean room with plenty of space, good shower, lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. Rear parking. We had the Turret room which , though roadside, was pretty quiet. Robin, the host was a very helpful, genial character with a good sense of humour. Shame we only stayed for one night, we were primarily here for the racing, walk to course about 20-25mins, but there seems so much more to this picturesque town and surrounding areas. We now know where to stay when we come back, cheers Robin

Once again had such a wonderful stay Robin always looks after us, he is extremely friendly host, helpful & very accommodating. There’s lots of choice for breakfast, & it has always been delicious. The house is quirky but indeed very lovely. Comfortable beds, & shutters to keep the room dark which is a bonus. Looking forward to coming back next year Many thanks Robin for your hospitality. Robin as always was an excellent, warm, and friendly host with a very witty sense of humour. The room we had was very spacious and clean with a good size shower and huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely with lots of options to suit all preferences. Looking for to staying again soon. Ian and Sharon

We have just returned home from a 3 night break in Kelso. We didn't travel far, only from Newcastle, but we felt the need for a little break. We chose The Old Priory from the excellent reviews here. We were not disappointed. Robin is the most delightful host. He is a larger than life personality, has an excellent sense of humour, and is incredibly interesting, and knowledgeable. We chatted a lot, and could honestly have talked for hours. We stayed in the study room on the first floor. The bed is enormous and so incredibly comfortable with Gorgeous bedding. All this, plus Shutters and beautiful heavy curtains ensure total darkness for a lovely restful sleep, I wish I slept as well at home as I did here! Cooked Breakfast choices are left the evening before, and there is an ample choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread for toast, and gorgeous jams and marmalades, plus the largest array of teas I've ever seen! . Breakfast always arrived beautifully cooked and piping hot, with lovely hot coffee to help yourself to. There is a conservatory to sit in, and a garden, plus on site parking at the back. The property is very olde worlde, charming, quirky, brimming with history and tales to be told. Robin is very proud of the Old Priory, and rightly so. Thank you for your hospitality Robin, we would love to return if you will have us

A home from home experience; comfortable, cosy and casual, with a touch of old fashioned class! We stayed with some friends for 3 nights and had a rather enjoyable time. A full Scottish breakfast was on offer each morning, but I opted for a simple start to the day with poached eggs… Robin does rustle up quite a mean poached egg. After a hard couple of years, it was just the break my husband and I needed… and we will be back. But Robin, would you have us back? :-)

Kelso is a lovely place to spend a few days and this guest house is right in the centre of the town with excellent restaurants and cafes on the doorstep and just metres away from the abbey ruins. The house is a beautiful, historic building. It is clean, warm and very comfortable. The breakfasts are great with plenty of options and there is a conservatory provided for the use of guests. Robin is an excellent host, providing helpful suggestions of places to go and restaurant recommendations. We hope to return.

High quality accommodation with a great location in Kelso. Very comfortable with excellent furnishings and decor. A fine breakfast and an attentive and helpful host. This is a large 19th century stone property tastefully fitted out for it's current purpose.

Honestly don't know where to start! We were greeted by Robin who is such a character but also a gentleman, he couldn't do enough for you! We brought a bottle of bubbly with us (which was still cold from the journey) but insisted on putting it in his freezer for 10 mins. When we came back down to collect it, he only had it in an ice bucket and provided two flutes too. We then took it outside and drank it in his courtyard garden which is just beautiful and well maintained, and was such a delightful setting. Everything was to our standards, had a very nice clean comfortable bed and en-suite but is oldly worldly which adds to the character of the building, which we loved! Breakfast on both mornings was delicious - that man can make a mean full breakfast - and there was also lots of others to be had....cereal, fresh fruit, lovely bread and different teas and coffees on the offering. This will be the only place we would stay anytime we're back in Kelso, Robin was a wonderful host and is definitely a credit to Kelso!!

This is a great B&B in the centre of Kelso which has the added bonus of private parking. The priory is a lovely old building with lots of charm. Our room was very comfortable, especially the beds, and although it was on the ground floor facing the street it was very quiet at night. Robin is a considerate and helpful host. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, especially the home made jams. We would thoroughly recommend staying here and will certainly be booking again when we are next in Kelso.
