Home2 Suites by Hilton Columbus Downtown

The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was VERY comfortable. The breakfast had one of the best waffle stations I have ever experienced. The location is less than 10 minutes from some of downtown Columbus’s best restaurants. We will definitely be staying here again.

Among the issues: 1. The pull out couch in the living room, has the world's thinnest mattress and more importantly, there was a black sock in the bed. Eew! I slept on the floor while my family took the beds. 2. Only 1 closet in the room and the shelf was crooked and almost falling out of the wall. Above the shelf was a piece of wallpaper that has been scotch-taped to the wall. 3. The hook on the back of the bathroom door was missing. Where am I supposed to hang my towel(s)? 4. We reserved this room for 4 people. When we arrived, there were only two sets of towels in the bathroom and it took more than 30 minutes to get more linens. 5. There was no garbage can in the bathroom. 6. The shower drain was almost totally clogged and by the end of a short shower, I ended up standing in several inches of water. 7. The room smelled but that's probably because the furniture and carpets are very old.
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbus Airport Area

I stayed at this LaQuinta as I was travelling through along I-70. I would say the room accommodations were better than I expected for the price. Room appeared recently renovated and was clean; TV, WiFI, and a/c all worked as appropriate. While I didn't need them, the room has true blackout curtains for day sleepers. There are lots of fast food and fast casual restaurants nearby, and the gas prices were about as low as I saw between IL and MD. The breakfast was mostly cold items, but there were the typical waffles and some hot items. Enough to get me going. The outside is worn and the place gives a worse external impression than I found inside. I would certainly stay there again.

How can I summarize the wonderful experience at this hotel?! Well to begin, the valet staff is a great team of people. I was helped by Taylor, who had a great personality and was such a warm welcome for the weekend. The front desk was swift, kind, and accommodating, and they provided great recommendations for restaurants and activities! The rooms were clean… but if I must be honest, the hotel could benefit from a little updating here and there. I know it’s an expensive ask, but in order to stand out in today’s world, that could be a huge plus! Other than that, everything was super!
Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus Scioto Downs

All of the staff, from the front desk to the housekeepers, are extremely pleasant and courteous. Breakfast was great, good variety both days. Room was clean but did experience some inconvenient room maintenance issues that were reported at check-out (didn't want to deal with them during the stay.) Electric window shades did not work (makes for an early wake up in an east-facing room. Mattress was lumpy and bed frame creaked. Clock time was off and would not reset. Water temperature and pressure was inconsistent. Top complaints: 1) This was an Accessible room with a tub (??) and no foot stool. 2) No in-room safe. What?? No in-room safe at a hotel attached to a casino. No Way!! Both are Huge Design Faults. Regardless of the above issues, I will stay again the next time I visit Scioto.
