On a wet and rainy Yorkshire day we decided to stop at the Devonshire for lunch. What a great place, pretty decent hand pull beers, pleasant staff, but…… The battered haddock and tartar sauce sandwich was AMAZING, and only £9.00. Almost worth driving back up here from Worcestershire for that!

A wonderful warm welcome, beautiful dinner and breakfast and a very comfy bed. We came to stay for a rare night away from young family and had a lovely, relaxing time. Thank you so much.

Phil and Sam run this exceptional hostelry. They could not be more welcoming or happy to help. We had a specific area to house our bikes, the rooms were warm and cosy & very comfortable. The range of beer predominantly local and brilliant to boot, the food was varied and extremely tasty and the breakfast next morning was superb. The highlight of our trip without doubt

This is a truly wonderful pub on all levels. It’s in a brilliant location, open fires and a great a**osphere. Family owned and run. Excellent beer and food and the rooms were lovely. Best of all they are lovely hosts. Can’t recommend the team enough!

Lovely old inn. Very welcoming owners. Bedroom was clean & comfy. Bed linen was excellent & fluffy white towels. Evening food was gorgeous all homemade using fresh ingredients and local beers & gin. Breakfast next day was also really good! Local produce. Good location for visiting Malham. Would definitely return.

We came for a family pre-Chris**as meal. it was a very good choice and we had a lovely night out: very tasty food, a mixture of traditional and gastropub. It's always reassuring when there is a relatively short menu of dishes well done. There was a warm and friendly welcome, even though we were running late- that was no problem. Although most of us were quite full, all 6 of us decided to have a pudding, no one wanted to miss out! It is a while since we have been to the Devonshire at Cracoe, but I hope we will be back soon.

We called into The Devonshire Arms for lunch, absolutely beautiful food, home made and a great selection of fresh vegetables, very good selection of real ales also available, we will definitely call in again when back in the area.

We have knownThe Devonshire for many years, under a number of proprietorships, and decided to visit for lunch. The pub is a lovely building (16th/17th century-low ceilings, beams, etc. The food was exceptional-way better then the usual "pub grub",served by a genial, professional proprietor. We shall certainly return.

Stayed for a couple of days and the staff were great, helpful and very patient. However, the room and food pricing was not to standard. We stayed in room 4 and although charming it was not the best. The bathroom had mould around the shower and if you anything like 6ft tall the shower was unusable. The reason for this was that the ceiling would touch your head and you could not get under the shower head unless you stooped. Even if you did manage these obstacles there was another waiting for you in a rustic beam hanging 6 inch from the ceiling and longing for you to hit it with your head. The smart tv had just the standard 5 terrestrial channels so not very smart and overall the place was just a little tired and lived off its association with the tv programme “all creatures great and small” . One thing which was not small was the price of the food with a samosa and very small onion bahji costing £9.50, gammon chips and egg costing £21. As I say the staff were great as was the beer but does that compensate for the rest, you might have to make your own mind up.
