This is my 2nd stay at Hotel Shangrila,Darjeeling.Last one was in March 2014(Room# 103,Shangrila)and this time from 21.10.2022 till 23.10.2022(Room # 502,Shangrila Regency).Trust me their service still remains a gem.Right froom interactions with the owner Mr.Ranjan Lama while booking to check-in and finally check-out,all were good. Staffs like Saurabh,Aniket to Manger Samuel,all are assets.Missed the sumptuous food of their restaurant but nevertheless, their complimentary breakfast(though found that options have reduced)are added sweetness on the cake. Weather being absolutely clear, was able to view the majestic Kanchenjunga right from the room,throughout the stay.Mall is 8-10 mins walk.taxi stand is 3/4 mins walk were also the good part.Would certainly love to stay here in my next visit to Darjeeling.

What it looks in the website is not what land upto. Very diry approach road to Hotel, rooms very small and no room with a view to the mountain ranges. Not worth more than Rs 1200 per day including taxes. No professional services at the front desk also.

Had stayed in Shangrila Regency from April 27 to 29. We had got room no 303 which was nicely ,maintained with king size bed blankets and tow chairs with small teapoy. Only no view of mountains .There one smal balcony type can open and stand .Room No 303 Tv ka power we have to bend down and start only thing channels not all we get recharged but that not a issue as for sightseeing we come darjeeling.. One thing here no lunch or dinner served only breakfast compli in tariff, but breakfast items is just limited to paratha and bread toast items. I would recommend travellers to try ***** veg hotel for breakfast ,lunch and dinner items and Lazeez Affiare little ahead in Nehru Road.Plus all major shops available near Hotel Shangrila.Washrooms too was nice but only thing water gets accumulated near european toilet.So i would really recommend travellers Hotel Shangrila Regency available in price range of Rs3000 to 4000 all. Only issues no lifts to go upper floors.

Stayed in March 2022 with family. FIRSTLY THE NEGATIVES 1. Extremely Small rooms, you will hardly be able to move. Room 303 where we stayed had issues with toilet drainage and the switches for the TV and power outlet were oddly placed below a table at the corner making it difficult to switch on. 2. If you are travelling with old people or people who have knee or breathing or any physical problem then don't stay here as climbing stairs is a pain and its extremely steep 3. No availability of inhouse Dinner which will make you hunt for food every night from different restaurants 4. The breakfast is the same every day and no choice ( for continental you get 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 poached eggs, bread, butter and jam and coffee and juice) NOW POSITIVES 1. Budget hotel which will not break your bank 2. The views from rooms are okayish if you are lucky to get 303 or 304 or attic 503 or 504 room 3. It will take approx. 10-15 mins to reach mall if you walk leisurely 4. There are small shops nearby from where you can buy water, have a cup of tea

Hotel is clean. no view from the room expect the rooms in the 5th floor. rooms are small but cozy. staffs are helpful and always smiley. no provision of Lunch and dinner in the hotel every time you need to walk 100 - 200 meters to have your food which is disgusting. this should be mentioned before booking which hotel is not mentioning.

Hotel Shangri-la Regency is a detached building and has excellent light and ventilation whilst its elevated position means most rooms have views of the Kanchenjunga.
Hotel Shangri-la Regency has 12 rooms, Rooftop Lounge and a Bar. Each room has an en suite bathroom and 24 hrs running hot & cold water. Every room has Cable TV, in-house telephone, tea coffee tray and a safe. The Double Deluxe & Delux Attic rooms are of a standard size hotel room and ideal for two guests. Most double deluxe rooms have private balconies. The Suites have a bedroom and a small separate sitting room with a private balcony and if required can accommodate 1 or two extra persons comfortably. The Roof Top Lounge has a fantastic 180* panoramic view of the spectacular Kanchenjunga mountain range and the tea gardens below, probably the best views in town. The hotel has five floors altogether, and whilst (as with all other hotels in Darjeeling) there isn't a lift, the design of the building reduces the effort needed to climb the stairs!
Breakfast is included in the hotel tariff and is served in the Rooftop Lounge. The Indian breakfast is a choice of stuffed parathas, aloo puris with aloo dum and mixed vegetables, pickles and curd, juice, tea or coffee. Alternatively, you can have two eggs cooked to your preference, sausages with hash browns, fried tomatoes, toast, butter and jam, juice, tea or coffee. If you prefer breakfast in your room we will most happily oblige at no extra charge.
