Premier Inn Elgin

My first stay at a Premier Inn. Unfortunate! Good room. Freeview TV but no teletext. Clean bathroom with shower only. No problems for me! Quiet and undisturbed sleep possible. Limited supply of coffee etc but supplies available at reception. My cousins were provided with Jaffa cakes and Border biscuits; I was not. So discrimination exists at this establishment. Friendly and upbeat staff at Reception. I’m mourning the death of my cousin age 58 years in 2023 so happy receptionists have their place. Fantastic breakfasts at Brewers Fayre - as expected. Thanks to all staff. But no evening meals! My 3rd cousin received am email alert but I did not. Why? And I paid extra for “flexibility”. Something wrong here! Dined elsewhere in Elgin but patronised Brewers Fayre for drinks in the evening. They stuck to their normal hours. Bad show! Tongue in cheek - they won’t be paid that much but shareholders in the holding company will maximise their take no doubt.
Sunninghill Hotel

3 night stay. EVERY staff member was friendly and made every effort they could to help or make our stay better. Upon arrival we started to head to our room and it seemed like the carpets were a bit dated/old and the stairs were showing signs of wear. I was a little concerned we'd find a tired/worn down room. Turns out the bath had been very recently updated, and the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Appears they've been spending money in the RIGHT places! In-house restaurant for two dinners and very good food (at reasonable prices) and the small in--house bar was impressively stocked. Alistair at the bar was ESPECIALLY good as he helped make one night during our visit for myself and son exceptionally memorable. Note for travelers: they were able to send laundry out ”by the bag” at a very reasonable rate. That made our travels easier.
The Mansefield Hotel

We stayed in the 2 bed apar**ent which was perfect for the 4 of us. It was such a great space and felt nice to have your own living and kitchen areas to relax in. Beds were comfortable, apar**ent was spotless and we had all the facilities we needed for the stay. We stayed 2 nights and we were surprised but pleased that on night 2 our towels were changed and essentials (coffee, toiletries etc) were refreshed. Check in and out were both quick and easy, staff all lovely and friendly. Breakfast was spot on!! Really good Scottish breakfast. Set us up for the day. This was our first stay in Elgin and the hotel was recommended by a friend. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in that area again. We had a family wedding outwith the hotel but next time we look forward to sitting in the bar at Mansefield and having dinner in the restaurant. Unfortunately this time we didn’t have the time. Thanks for a lovely stay
The Pines Guest House

The moment we walked inside the Pines we knew “Everything is Good here: Everything is Right.” We spent a week there, enjoying Elgin, nearby Scottish sights, and the hospitality of the owners. The Pines had been recently acquired and renovated by the owners. It is immaculately clean and well-appointed. Guests may choose among many breakfast options. They are all excellent. The portions are generous; on our first morning there I apologized to the owners for over-ordering and eating only about half the plate. We used the Pines as a central location for day trips and touring. It was in a good location for this. If you want to go to John ‘O’Groats, Stromness, and the ****************, be prepared for a bit of a drive and perhaps an overnight stay, so we kept our travels a bit closer to Elgin. What can I say about the owners? In a word, “great.” They were the perfect hosts: friendly but not familiar. We enjoy watching Formula 1 racing. On the day of a Grand Prix, they set up a telly in the sitting room for us and ensured we had tea and snacks. It was perfect. Would we go back to the Pines? Absolutely! We consider it our home in northeast Scotland.
The Royal Hotel Elgin

We stayed over to attend the funeral of our close friends father. We stayed in the annex at the side of the hotel. The room was very clean and just the right size for our short stay. We had a comfortable night. We had breakfast before booking out. We had a full cooked breakfast which set us up for the day. As the church was within walking distance we were allowed to leave our car in the car park for as long as we wanted to. Overall te staff were so kind and helpful it really enhanced our stay. We will definetely return and would recommend the royal to anyone.
Mansion House Hotel

Stayed here last Friday, house looked lovely on arriving at the property, on entering the reception hall is lovely first thing I noticed was a sign saying restaurant closed. Reception was a wee space in the corridor, the man on reception was pleasant but stank of cigarette smoke 🤮( he was smoking outside on arrival) we were allocated our room on checking it out it was very dark as only a small window so I asked for a better room which I got no bother. Room was cosy and clean, the only issue I had was getting in and out of the bath to use the shower I'm 5'1 and the bath is very high and deep and had a tiled casing which made it even deeper to get into and no bath mat making it tricky to get out when wet even though it's modern and looked like it's been upgraded it's not safe in my opinion. No evening meals are being served, menu is still on website. Breakfast was very nice no complaints there. I would definitely use it again as its conveniently located and plentiful safe parking and some lovely seating areas.
