I recently planned a trip to this place, driving for five hours with great anticipation for a day of fun after Christmas . However, upon arrival, I was met with a closed resort, much to my dismay. Despite checking their website and social media for updates, there was no indication that the skiing season hadn't begun. I was extremely upset because I was able to purchase tickets and never got an email saying they were close. This lack of communication from the resort led to not only a wasted journey but also unnecessary expenses in gas and a total of 10 hours of travel time lost. It's disheartening when such a reputable place fails to update its patrons about important information like season opening dates. I hope the resort takes this feedback seriously and improves its communication channels to prevent such situations in the future. For now, my experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

In all fairness, I have not been to Liberty. I had reserved lodging for next Thursday but when I tried to book my lift tickets there were none available. I called the resort and they explained it is because they "don't know when the mountain will be open." Perhaps I am naive, but I assumed if they were accepted reservations for lodging, then the mountain would be open? The woman on the phone was nasty and left me on hold for 10 minutes while canceling my reservation. Which, yes, obviously I canceled since we were going there to ski.

This was the first time we stayed and played at Liberty Mountain Resort for a golf outing among friends and glad we picked this place as it was very convenient to the DC and Baltimore metro areas plus those coming down from NY/NJ. Some of the rooms open up to the putting green with nice views of the golf course. We took a golf and hotel package deal which turned out to be terrific, including golf and lodging it also included breakfast buffet and choice of menu for dinner. It was very cool to stay in one spot for golf, lodging, food and post golf activities. We made good use of the outdoor pool and hot tub. The rooms itself seemed pretty dated and you could hear everything from the hallway and sometimes from adjoining rooms. But we didn't spend much time in our rooms so it really didn't matter. The hotel grounds was nice with outdoor fire pit and various games available both inside and outside. All-in-all, we had a good stay and plan to come back for another golf outing.

I can't remember the last time that I have been to Liberty and that's because it's been years! I am not an "avid" skier, but I do enjoy hitting the slopes and every time I go, I ask...why don't I do this more often? This year I had the opportunity to plan a ski weekend for 2 and one of the main criteria was that the resort needed to be a reasonable driving distance from DC (meaning, no more than 2 hours:). Liberty fit the bill and after reviewing the site, I decided to book and have absolutely no regrets. My decision was also aided by the fact that I purchased an Epic pass and Liberty Resort is now part of the Vail Resorts family and my Epic pass could be used at Liberty. Read my Epic Pass review here. I booked a room in the Alpine Lodge with 2 double beds. Located on the 2nd floor, the room was very tidy and extremely clean! The linens were fresh and the bathroom was extremely clean. They provided the necessary toiletries including some luxurious hand lotion (available for purchase if you like it). Our room was also equipped with a mini fridge and a coffee maker. I wish the room would have been stocked with tea as well, but we had to go to the main lodge and get that. We had a private balcony with a side view of the main lodge. I'm sure this would be nice to enjoy when weather permits. The Alpine Lodge is conveniently located in between the main lodge and the slopes. You can access the main eateries and lessons counter from the lodge without having to exit. The main restaurant, The Eagle & the Owl, located inside the main lodge (where you will also check-in), was just a stones throw from our room and where we ate all of our meals. We experienced some of the best service there even if the choices were a bit limited. Dinner and lunch were good, but breakfast was buffet and definitely lacking Our breakfast options were pancakes (Saturday only), eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and some bagels and pastries. The Sunday breakfast buffet definitely went downhill and the options were just an oversized quiche made of powdered eggs, potatoes, bacon and some quick breads. There was no a la carte breakfast option. I will say that the service from the wait staff and everyone in the restaurant was always top notch! Other eating options were limited and really on-the-go fast food and snack types. I will say that we didn't have a chance to sample McKee's Tavern because it closed before were were off the mountain...next time. There is an indoor pool in the basement of the main lodge. We took a peak just to confirm that it is there and there's a hot tub in the pool as well. We decided to go ahead and hit the Bubly tubing on our first night and it didn't disappoint. Would you believe that this was my first time tubing...ever? I can hardly believe it and think that I may. have blocked it from my memory. Anyhow, the tubing was fun and fast and it was super cold. We took a shuttle from the Alpine lodge to the tubing station for an 8

My husband and I stayed in suite 275 for a long weekend since my company picnic was nearby. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The resort was pretty quiet overall, which was nice. We enjoy the (2) pools (an outdoor and indoor) during our stay. A breakfast buffet was included each morning, the food was just ok, but staff was wonderful. Our room was very large and comfortable, but stuffy. The temperature kept fluctuation throughout the evening and we were unable to keep the room temp consistent. That was probably an isolated incident to our room. We had a nice dinner at the Eagle and Owl and were able to sit at a table outside overlooking the firepit which was nice. There's lots of good antique shops, Gettysburg and hiking nearby if you want a quiet weekend getaway.

My family was planning a weekend trip here but we recently tested positive for COVID. We asked the hotel if we could cancel our reservation and be given a credit to use at a future date since we are still considered contagious. They rejected this and said we should have paid for travel insurance. We informed them we will probably still end up coming and potentially expose all of their staff and guests to COVID and they didn’t care. I’m so glad that “Health and safety remain our top priority”.

Was very pleasantly surprised, the Lodge was beautiful and we stayed in the Alpine. Was very clean and well maintained. Staff was so friendly and helpful!! Would go back again anytime. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway place. Was close to Gettysburg but far enough away from all the congestion. Beautiful place all around!!

Loved this resort. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Rooms were very clean. Lots to do even if you don't ski or golf. The restaurant on site had a smallish menu but the food was really good and service was fast. We'll definitely go back.

We took a road trip to DC but wanted to stay on this side of the beltway, just to shorten our drive. I stumbled upon this gorgeous Resort. Skiing is challenging. My son thoroughly enjoyed the slopes while hubby and I had some snacks and drinks in the cafe. After a day in the slopes we all headed to the indoor pool which has an amazing view of the mountains. So relaxing. Excellent facilities, very clean. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is good and you won't have to leave the resort if that's what you chose. From here to DC is only about one hour or you can jump on the nearest metro station about 35 mins away. We also went up to the Gettysburg National Military Park and Museum which is very close and conveniently located. If ever we do another drive to DC I will definitely plan to stay here. It can get busy with city folk so I will make sure to book the private ski instructor way ahead of time.

We stayed for 2 nights (part of the wedding crew) Unfortunately due to COVID a lot of the facilities are closed. I am leaving 5 stars because of The staff. They were all very welcoming and friendly. Wonderful experience from Check-in experience to Housekeeping, the breakfast staff and bartenders. Thank you Kurt for your hospitality. The wedding venue was amazing, lots of potential. We hope we will be able to come back and enjoy all the facilities the resort has to offer.

I took my family here for the first time and we stayed at their resort for the location and convenience. I have to admit that the prices are very steep $350/night for a 2 star hotel without an elevator. The slopes were pretty nice but they need more help on the lifts. On the Sundays they’re understaffed and it was every man for himself on the lift lines. People were just shuffling along and the chairs were swinging at high speeds even for the bunny slopes. My daughter was knocked down getting on the lift and fell getting off because it was going to fast. There was free buffet breakfast included In the stay which help to offset the steep price. My biggest disappointment was when I check my credit card bill and saw a charge of $80 for incidentals. I immediately called the hotel to dispute the charge and was told by a manager named Curt that it was for the four shampoo and body wash bottles that was removed from the room. He stated that I could bring them back unused and not empty to get my refund. First of all, I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels ranging from 1 star to 5 star level and never have I been charged for shampoo bottles. Secondly, I don’t recall seeing any signs in the bathroom saying $20 charge per bottle if removed from the room. This wasn’t like a nice bath robe or embroidered towels or pillows, it’s for shampoo! I have to drive 3 hours roundtrip if I want to get my $80 back from the hotel. That’s a total scam!

We had a night booked through ******* for two rooms last week and had to cancel a day before due to a contact from my son and his girlfriend with a friend who turned out with Covid... We explained the case and requested cancellation or a re-schedule so we do not loose the $500+ paid upfront.... The manager declined and was rude... Will never set foot there again and not recommending it either!

My family just spent 6 days here and not for golf! We stayed in the Alpine Lodge in which we had adjoining rooms which were clean and up to date. There was plenty of parking, and the breakfast and staff were great! We were reviewing the site for the winter and used it as a location to easily access Lancaster, Gettysburg and Emmitsburg for day trips. We liked the low key atmosphere and the ease to access other locations. Will definitely consider another stay in summer AND winter. Thank you, Liberty Mountain Resort, for a very relaxing week!
