I've read some of the negative reviews and our experience was anything but negative. If your room is hot and the AC didn't work, that's very specific. It should have been addressed by the staff. I can't comment on specifics. I can say that it was hot while we were there and our room had good air flow and AC. And, the people here were outstanding. Anything we wanted they were willing to help us from getting tickets to getting a cab. If you haven't traveled in Europe don't expect large palatial rooms. In fact, most hotels in Europe offer small rooms with double beds. We had a king size bed. The only negative in regard to the room was that sleeping area was too small for a dresser, so you have to get creative with your clothes. But the hotel wasn't more than a 30 min walk to anywhere. Pitti Palace was the furthest we had to walk. We took a train to Pisa for a day. The train is 15 min away on foot, buses for tours 10 min and we took two tours, Uffizi 15 min, the Duomo 15 min, Galleria Dell Academia (David statue) a 5 min walk. My wife and I are seniors and I've had hip and knee surgery and we walked everywhere. We didn't need a cab except to go the airport to return to NC. AND that was arranged by a staff member of the hotel. We did not opt for the breakfast, because we are selective about breakfast food, but the hotel provided free expresso or cappuccino. Also, the provided free water during out stay.

The location, the breakfast, the comfort of the rooms, Enrico's attitude and behavior were great. He also agreed to take my package order on my behalf before my stay, thank you very much. If I had written this review only after meeting Enrico, I would recommend it to everyone without question and I would definitely recommend them to stay here. But..; There is another employee named Filippo at the hotel and unfortunately we had to deal with him at the welcome. I summarize the incident without any additives; * We checked into the hotel and he welcomed us with a smile * We gave our card to pay, but the pos device refused for what I think was due to the communication problem of the pos device. But at that moment, I received an expenditure message and the payment was reflected on my card expenditure screen. * I asked him that there was a problem, that the payment was received from me but I did not know the reason for the rejection of the POS device, I asked him to call his bank to understand the problem or to check the POS transactions on the website. * He said he could not call the bank, he did not know the password for the website. But I asked him to confirm that if the payment was received, I would have paid twice. I also told him that I was there for 4 nights and he could confirm it tomorrow or the next day. * In the meantime I went to the room and called my bank and they gave me a confirmation code. They asked me to share this code with the company and they would get confirmation from their bank. * I told Filippo the code as instructed by my bank, but things got very ugly from that point on because Filippo started accusing me of fraud. He started to make very ugly statements and raised his voice, saying that this was not normal, that according to the hotel's policy I should pay immediately or at the latest the next day, and how would he know if we were going to leave early in the morning even though we said we would be there for 4 nights. If there is a camera recording, they can turn it on and watch it. The only thing I said was ”why don't you want to call your bank?”. After all, you will call your bank, not my bank, right? In the meantime, in order to reduce the tension, I asked him that I could pay this reservation from another card at that moment or in cash the next day (it was 21.00), but if it was detected that I made a duplicate payment, would he refund me? But I also told him that it would be healthier for him to call his bank first. * Filippo never listened to me and treated me like a fraudster, constantly tense and accusatory. At that moment I looked for another facility but I could not find a place, if I had found one, I would definitely have left. * I called my bank and told them that I had a problem and to cancel the payment. They kept me waiting for 10 minutes, contacted the other bank and canceled the payment. We solved the problem by paying again. Anyone can establish a company, anyone can invest. It is not recommended for small friends to order. Although the location is close to the scenic spot and the railway station in the old city, it feels a little bad for decoration and sanitation. Just like the family hotel that has been changed for decades, it has not been eaten for two days. I don’t want to eat it when I look at it. The location of the hotel where I live in Rome is not worse than this. The decoration service is better than this.

Well located hotel with very good staff. Allocated room at front of hotel very noisy due to location and poor soundproofing. Bathroom poorly maintained with mould above shower and shower head could only be used as hand held. Toiletries supplied not what would be expected of a 4 star hotel.

The room is large, clean, retro, antique elevator is very interesting, the first time I encountered the elevator that needed to be pressed to operate, the front desk staff was very kind and patient, although the breakfast was simple, the variety was not too rich, but it was enough for us. After all, there are restaurants and coffee shops everywhere. The location is great, it is convenient to go anywhere, the street outside is quiet, but the sound insulation is not very good. If there are children running in the room upstairs, it is still clearer. The heating is very powerful, even if you come in winter, you don't have to worry about the cold. The bath water is very hot and very satisfied. When checking out, the front desk staff can also help to call a taxi. Very recommended!

A 10 minuti dalla stazione di S. Maria Novella e a 15-20 dalle principali attrazioni, è una location comoda con i principali servizi delle vie vicine. La camera singola è piccolina ma ben arredata (ci sono anche tratti di affreschi sul soffitto) e fornita. Viene fatta la pulizia approfondita della camera quotidianamente e rifornita di acqua in bottiglia, te e ciò di cui c'è necessità. La colazione è in una piccola cucina che affaccia sulla strada e vengono forniti biscotti, merendine, mettendo a disposizione anche la macchinetta del caffè e il microonde. La proprietaria e i suoi collaboratori sono gentili e raggiungibili telefonicamente in caso di necessità.
