The host Mr Antonio provide a warm welcome and will do his best to make you feel at home ! Room is clean and comfortable ! Excellent ! Location is easy accessible ! We stay on the first floor. The room come with air conditioning and also hot water access !

We stayed one night. Place wasn’t as the photos showed online. You need to go up 3 sets of stairs with your luggage because doesn’t have elevator. The place is dirty, bathroom is not private, mattress and pillows were terrible and have mosquitos. The only positive is that is near the train station. Don’t go there!

I had a very comfortable stay here. The Home Boutique is close to the train station--although it doesn't really matter, because the historical part of Florence is small enough that almost all the interesting sites are within walking distance. There were also multiple decent restaurants nearby. I had an interior room, which meant that it was very quiet but also there were no windows--fine for me but might bother others. And the air conditioning was a plus. The self-serve breakfast was very basic, but use of a free washing machine was greatly appreciated. The manager Antonio was incredibly friendly and helpful, and assisted me in making a phone call to assist with a glitch in my next stay (different city). To the reviewer who didn't like the narrow stairs and lack of elevator: have you traveled in Europe before? This is totally standard in smaller hotels in Europe. Even by your own account you were incredibly rude to the hotel staff.

We were very comfortable in Novella. A modernised spacious room, close to the rail station and only 5 min walk to old city. The staff were particularly welcoming and attentive.

We booked a room for USD $280, and received a less room for same money. Also, we had to share a bathroom with another visitor. There was only 2 towels for 4 guests and we has to reuse our towels to leave one there for the next guest. Not safe and sanitary. This was not in the itinerary and we feel a partial refund is to be made by the hotel. We suggest USD $50.00 I have a limited mobility problem and had major difficulty climbing 60 stairs from the street to our room. Again this we not in the ******* advertisement for your hotel. We cannot recommend your hotel to ur friends and relatives.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The internet in Florence doesn’t work well so navigating by google is fraught! My room had a lovely terrace looking out over the back. On the first evening I settled down after a days exploring to beautiful violin music coming from adjacent buildings. Unlimited coffee available in the kitchen with water and fruit juice available. They even left a bottle of Prosecco in the room on the second day. The aircon worked but the room was cool anyway. Couldn’t recommend it more as a romantic weekend away place

Welcomed by friendly staff member who provided a lot of useful information. Good location, just a few-minute walk from SMN Station. Room spacious; bathroom running well. Air conditioning very helpful for hot summer in Florence. Down sides: blankets a little thin; limited breakfast choices; no fridge in room.

First, look at the review from October 2022. I had the same experience. We arrived 2 weeks ago and this is what happened: 1) You arrive and there is no sign or an entry that you would expect at a hotel. You look around confused. 2) You see buzzers for entry like at an apartment building. You then look and see in fine print that one of the buzzers is for the Boutique Santa Maria. 3) You press the buzzer but nothing happens. 4) You push the door open and your in. No one receives you. In fact there's no foyer. You and your wife and two bags are just barely able to get in at the base of the staircase. 5) You see a long staircase and it is the narrowest staircase I have seen in my life. 6) I told my wife to stay put and I took the stairs and immediately felt claustrophobic. The staircase was so narrow that it can only accommodate one person. I immediately felt scared and realized that this was a hazard. The stair was quite long. There is no elevator. 7) At the first or second flight there was a maid who told me the person to speak to was on the third floor! 8) As I climb the stairs I look at the hallway between the rooms and the hallways also were the narrowest hallways I have ever seen and also can accommodate only one person. I know this because I saw the maid in the first hallway and it was almost the with oh her body. 8) I reached the third floor and there was a man in this tiny office with a desk. His name is Antonio. 9) I was so scared and claustrophobic. I told him that I did not want to stay there and wanted my money back. He said that "It was impossible". 10) I got out of there as soon as I could. If you look at the review from October 2022 you will hear more about the rooms. I did not dare go into the rooms. I was scared. 11) Final comments: not a hotel, not a "boutique" whatever it is (see October review", not at the Santa Novella Maria Piazza, no security, only one representative and maid on site, the other reviews are not accurate. After I got home this is what happened: 1) Criticized by *********** for not contacting them on the spot or taking pictures. Why would I when I'm on vacation and want to move on and not ruin my vacation. We were lucky to get a room at the Santa Maria Novella Hotel within 1 hour although they were fully booked. It was wonderful 2) I didn't realize that I had agreed to fully purchased a nonrefundable reservation. The charge went through several days before arrival. As a result my credit card company could not help me. In addition both the facility, whatever it is, and *********** took a legal approach, not a customer satisfaction approach, and I am not getting my money back. This review is my only recourse. Do not agree to this type of nonrefundable arrangement unless you are absolutely sure of the accommodations. With today's travel issues with airlines I am not sure this should ever be done. I don't want anyone going through the experience that I and the person from the October 2022 review had.

This property had one of the friendliest hosts I came across on all my trips - they really made me feel at home. The quaint room was adequate to meet needs. The location was perfect, about 7 minutes away from Florence's main station and of course close to the Metro and bus station.
