we stayed on the premium camp site which was nice and close to amenities and was a powered site. Showers were nice and hot. I found the back packers to be quite feral leaving toilet paper everywhere, also found the back packers had zero respect for the families that stayed there and struggled to understand gender bathrooms. massive shout out to the management for getting on top of the issue ASAP and the tour company for dealing with the issue as well. I love that I can let my kids play freely and not worry about the dingoes. I like that the campgrounds are generously spaced out and not right on top of each other. and I like that they catered for all camping level. from camping to glamping to cabins. We will go back again.

Stayed in a permanent tent ($450) for 2 nights including paying $100 of linen which smelled like body odour. The camp kitchen has all the facilities but the fridge smells awful, toaster, kettle dirty, gas cooker dirty. Bathrooms very basic Cafe closed at 2.30pm !! Apparently low season end of January. But paid high season rates for accommodation. Convenient store ridiculously overpriced, and had to pay for Wifi connection. $450 for 2 nights for a family of 5. We couldn’t stay the 2nd night, no one could sleep in the uncomfortable bedding and it was far too hot. No reimbursement. Overpriced for all the facilities.

We’ve stayed at Cathedrals a number of times over the years, camping and cabins. This year we stayed in the new Wilderness cabins. We were a group of 6 families and the setup was absolutely perfect for us. It enabled us to have private / quiet time as a family and also get together around the firepit with friends in the evenings. The cabins are brand new and set up beautifully, everything you need and in a nice private setting. We’ll definitely be booking the wilderness cabins on our next K’gari vacation. Thanks to everyone at Cathedrals for making our stay perfect!

As a group of 6 families we booked out all 6 of the new Wilderness Villas and they really are superb. We have stayed in the cabins previously - also really great- but the Villas are next level. Really well kitted out, great storage, and the separate shower / toilet / basin configuration is particularly well designed (but take an extra bath mat). Having dedicated firepits for the villas made for some indulgent evenings… Cathedrals is in a perfect location, offers a wide range of accommodation/camping options, is safe, fenced, clean and really well shaded by trees. Looking forward to our next trip !

We stayed in one of the new Villas at Cathedrals - there are not enough stars to rate it!!! Superb Plus! Our Hosts & all the Staff were just fabulous. The cafe food & coffee were top shelf. Cathedrals is an oasis of peace in a crazy world, but right on the doorstep of all the fun and adventure you could want. Can't wait to be there again! Thank You so much!

3 of us have just spent 4 weeks in a cabin at Cathedrals. Great spot, brand new toilet and shower in cabin with everything you would need. Interactions and help from the staff here were what made the trip. You must try the Cathedral Burger and chips OMG. Will 200% be back. Ps. Looks like 6 brand new cabins going in right up the back of the park set in the bush. Can’t wait to try these out next trip.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin (no bathroom) for 10 nights and it suited our needs. With 2 adults and 4 children it was a little tight, but that is to expected with a family this large. We spent most of our time outside the cabin, either exploring the Island or socializing with others. A few noteworthy improvement suggestions, a small vacuum in the cabin to pick up the sand easily - a broom and dustpan is provided, so not the end of the world. One of the toilet/shower/laundry blocks is dated and could do with some renovations to modernize it, there is also an odour near the block, but isn’t noticeable at the cabin we stayed at right across from it. I suspect this is the result of one or two lids on the septic system having small gaps allowing the odour to escape. Another improvement would be to allow eftpos or have a change machine in the laundries so you don’t have to rely on having change (especially after reception closes at 6pm). It would also be great if there was a wash down bay for cabin patrons, we didn’t take a hose as we were in the cabin, if we camped, we would have had one with us. Makes it a little hard to keep the sand and spray off the windows and the car, visibility is highly reduced with a lot of spray on your windows. We had a great time on the Island, there was only 1 day where it was too wet/dangerous to be driving along the beach, that didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves as we decided to socialize with other people in the camp kitchen and had a great time. A few of the staff are likely on a working holiday as some of them were a little unsure of details about the Island and communication could sometimes be a little challenging l, but nothing to upset our holiday as we always got the information or service that we needed. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the dingo proof fence provided a little more comfort for us knowing that it would be unlikely a dingo would be on the premises. When we return, I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.

We recently stayed 5 nights in a double room permanent tent. The tent was great. The toilet and shower block were old and rundown. The hot water tap fell off the first time I tried to have a shower - I couldn’t get it back on so I had a cold shower. Next shower I used a different cubicle and it didn’t have a shower head and wouldn’t work. There were only 5 showers - 2 of which didn’t work. On the weekend a lot more campers arrived - there weren’t enough working showers to accommodate them. The shower water overflowed to the front of the amenities block which was a slip hazard. Two of the toilets had no toilet paper in them. One toilet didn’t flush properly. The camp kitchen contained four fridges - two were very old and smelly. There wasn’t enough room for all campers to store their cold food. There was a two burner gas cooker and one of those burners didn’t work. The slat bench chairs were missing slats which made them uncomfortable. The takeaway closed at 330pm which made it impossible to get any hot food afterwards. Overall I was disappointed with Cathedrals on Fraser

Staff were fantastic. Realized I’d lost one of my swag poles young lady serving lent me one of hers absolute gem of a girl. Only negative would be shop opening hrs but understand it’s a tough gig. kids said even if they had a vending machine as a option for the teenagers wanting to buy something. But would highly recommend this campground
