Perfect stay from start to finish. All team members so friendly and helpful, went out of their way to speak. Bedroom very grand and beautifully decorated. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Lovely Countryside views. We will definitely return, thank you.

Such a stunning place to stay. This was our third visit and my husband and I stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast. The food was superb, with every dish cooked perfectly and mouth-wateringly delicious. Our room was very comfortable and grand with incredible views across beautiful countryside. There are lovely grounds to walk in and an ancient church to visit. Incredibly relaxing and a welcome retreat in such busy lives. The staff are warm and welcoming and we would like to convey our special thanks to the incredible head chef, Pete on reception, and the friendly, helpful, efficient waiting staff. We would like to send our special sincere gratitude to Carolina who always makes everything perfect. We truly appreciate everyone’s hard work and can’t wait to see you all again.

Amazing stay, The hotel grounds are amazing to walk around, lovely views, we had afternoon tea which was delightful and the service was 1st class, we will definitely be back thank you for the great hospitality.

We had a fantastic stay at stapleford park. It felt very special, our room was beautiful clean and with a free standing bath. The food was delicious. The staff were all professional and friendly. Absolute highlight was the falconry and clay pigeon shooting with Simon and Gill at Rutland Outdoor Pursuits who come to the hotel. They were so lovely and we had a fantastic day. The activities offered was the reason for booking this hotel. There are so many spa hotels available.

The most amazing afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. Just wonderful. A very special and stunning 5 star with a faultless afternoon tea. Fresh sandwiches, cakes and scones. A wide variety of different teas. Gorgeous champagne. Just delightful. We will be visiting again!

We have stayed here many times over the years, but things have changed - for the better! On our arrival we noticed the main entrance hall had a beautiful log fire burning for a change, and as we went through to the bar and drawing room, all the fires were alight there too! What a joy and it gave us such a welcome feeling. Flowers everywhere and beautiful linen table cloths wherever food was being served no matter we sat. Good service with a smile, and plenty of helpful staff too. The food at lunchtime, and especially dinner was some of the best we've tasted, anywhere. And we do travel to some of the top UK hotels and we do eat exceedingly well when we're there, so we say that with authority. Absolutely faultless quality, fresh, imaginative and every course cooked to perfection. Even the breakfast porridge was as good as I've eaten anywhere. I mean, anywhere! There have been changes at Stapleford, and definitely for the better. We will be returning very soon. But I could do with a firm pillow next time please! Well done.

I read previous reviews so thought it would be a good base for us. My husband booked a deal through Off Peak Luxury but our room certainly wasn’t. Were we put in this room as a punishment?! I notice it does not feature in any photos on this or the hotels site - probably because it is so dark inside. Furniture somewhat battered, dark wallpaper and there were little moths flying around as well as silverfish in the bathroom. The bathroom was internal with a noisy fan and also rather tired. Rusty sink plug, cracked sink and a pretty useless shower. My husband found the room quite depressing. The restaurant was ok and people mainly dressed up which was nice. Food was very good but a side dish of jersey royals at £5.50 was dry and unexciting. Breakfast seemed to be just buffet which was ok for my husband but I had looked on line and there was a breakfast menu - not featuring at all on the tables. I asked both days to order avocado and eggs and pancake and bacon the following day. Was it just because it was Easter there was a buffet? Not worthy of a 4 star hotel. We had a credit of £40 for wine which was just as well as it is very expensive. The bottle we had was £48, retails in the supermarket at under £16. We have paid these sort of prices in the past at other hotels which have been far better than Stapleford. It was disappointing.

Excellent Hotel, Beautiful room, great bar and wonderful breakfast. The staff were exactly what I expect and I cannot fault it in anyway. The sense of history in this historic building added to the ambience. Paula the taxi driver was a credit to the profession.

very pleasant weekend 15th March. room extremely comfortable and a great size. All staff very helpful and friendly. Had bar food and breakfast, all tasty and good quality. Definitely worth a visit if only for the building and grounds but for sure worth staying
