Hotel Rural Almazara

We arrived late evening to a warm and friendly welcome from the brilliant Manolo. We were staying half board and even though we arrived late, we were served a three course meal, goats cheese salad with black honey, lasagne and the best chocolate mousse I have ever had. Our room was very clean and looked out over the agricultural landscape complete with avocado trees with the Mediterranean in the distance. With hindsight, a room with a walk in shower would have suited us better rather than having to clamber into the bath for a shower as we are not quite as mobile as we once were! The hotel was extremely well placed for accessing the local buses. Bus on opposite side of the road to Nerja and bottom of the hill to Frigiliana €1.30 each way. Taxis to Frigiliana cost €10-€12 each way. The buses were very comfortable and punctual. The food was lovely with the menu being changed every seven days. The breakfast was continental style with plenty of choice. Our favourites were the Croauetes and the chocolate mousse but it was all delicious. You could have lunch at the hotel if you wished. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being over the top, and nothing was too much trouble. I found the walk up the hill to the hotel quite challenging in the heat and wonder if perhaps a key coded lock could be added to the gate half way down to assist the less mobile. All in all, we very much enjoyed our holiday here and hope to return someday. Thank you Lucy, Javere and all your amazing staff.

Great stay with easy access to Nerja and Frigliana. The staff were fab, and pool a well appreciated service!

A basic 3 star accommodation that is not too expensive. Parking is good, bed is not the most comfortable and breakfast is enough. The dinner we had was excellent, particularly the oxtail. The hotel is well located to visit Frigiliana which is a very cute village in the hills.

This is a lovely Spanish style hotel. Our room was spacious with a balcony looking out to the sea. The pool looked lovely but we didn't use it. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent value. We walked into Nerja a few times which was around 40 mins. The first part of the walk was difficult as no pavement but once you move on towards Nerja it's a pleasant walk. We took a taxi to Frigiliana which is beautiful. This was a lovely holiday, made better by the helpful staff. We had an issue with our airport transfer and they were extremely helpful.

A wonderful hotel The hotel is a hidden gem away from the hussle and bussel, yet the perfect location for exploring the area. It is absolutely beautiful in a traditionaly Spanish style. Every area is spotless, the beds are comfy and the views from the balcony where stunning. Lots of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the sunshine, including around the lovely pool and garden. Equally lots of areas to chill in even if the weather is not so good. Food quality and choice was amazing. Excellent value, but best of all was the very warm welcome from all the friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again soon. Thankyou!

There's a nice pool at the hotel and the restaurant is very good with lovely home cooked food available in the evening (and nice views at sunset) and a good quality breakfast. A good choice if you want to be away from the tourists at the coast.

The hotel is fully accessible with a ramp at the entrance and lift to all floors. Also a nice indoor pool and sauna at an additional fee. A good choice if you want to be away from the tourists at the coast.
