Hotel Hamlet

2 experienced globetrotters. Was here 08/08 - 10/08 -24 We had no direct expectations for this hotel based on the reviews we read. Was pleasantly surprised when we checked in. Warm and friendly staff at the reception. Spacious room (Junior Suite) facing the pedestrian street. A little Crooked as it should be in old houses. Nice beds (firm bed in our taste). Quite okay bathroom. The breakfast was above expectations, no problems with replenishment either with freshly baked bread. Good coffee Prons: The location is very central. Nice staff. Pleasant room. Good breakfast with freshly baked bread. Cons: A bit unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Difficult to get cold water in the shower. Slightly warm rooms (there is a fan in the room). If you want to go to bed early, you should know that the music from the restaurant goes on until 23:30. Reception manned daytime only.

A charming place located in the middle of this small town. The man at the reception was very charming. The lift is really small, but we managed to get both our suitcases in... The stairs are really steep - but OK to use when you are not carrying bags. The room was charming, and the beds good. Everything was nice and clean.

The small Hotel Hamlet is a strange little hotel. Helsingør is a beautiful little town and well worth a visit. If you do decide to stay the night, worth it as this is one of the most charming places on earth, I wouldn't discount staying here because the staff are very nice and helpful and the location is really very good, near the water and the train station. Although our room was on a corner and had lots of light, it smelled just terribly of old dirty shoes. The carpet we suspected. We bought a bottle of Febreze and nearly used it all in three days. We left our windows open to air things out until we missed closing them before dusk and had to contend with mosquitos. The Saturday traffic is quite crazy and the hotel is across from one of the loudest bars in town, which was loud until 2am when patrons streamed out, so if you do decide to stay at the hotel ask for a room in the back if you wish to sleep on Saturday night. The bathroom had no window so got very warm if the door was closed. If you are there on Sunday there are only a couple of restaurants that are open in the evening so be aware of that as well. One last thing, the staff was so helpful, that when I thought I had left my new Italian sandals in our room and asked them to check after we left-they did not find the sandals but they made sure to look and emailed us back, be aware though that they do not staff the hotel after 7pm so make sure you are all set before then.

Firstly you are meet by super helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and very comfortable and despite being very close to the town train station it is a very quiet useful location. Helsingor is quite ythe prettiest town.

Just a few minutes walk from the train station and ferry, but unable to hear any public transport noise from my room. It’s a charming older hotel providing you the basic needs when travelling. Located in the Old Town. Walking distance to everything. Kronberg Castle is only a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. The walls are thin and the floors creak, but I found it just added to the atmosphere. Felt safe as a solo female traveller. Would recommend it.

Great location for this older hotel, near shopping and dining and about a 15-minute walk along the water to the famous Kronborg Castle, where Shakespeare's play Hamlet is set. Our small room was clean, cozy, and recently renovated. Only complaint was the beds, which were as hard as a park bench! We didn't sleep well. Otherwise this hotel was fine for a one-night stay. Didn't have many interactions with the staff, but they seemed friendly.

Super rart og serviceminded personale, hotellet har en fantastisk placering og ligger ved en lækker restaurant. Værelserne er superfine ifht prisen. Alt i alt et super fint ophold.

Desk staff was very friendly and very helpful. Would stay there again
