This was good hotel, located in the center of Gothenborg where you have good access to almost everything. It was a beautiful hotel with a good interior design. It was clean enough. As a not good point, we can say they don't put slipperies in the rooms that is a little annoying. Breakfast was perfect with a very good anf acceptable range of foods and drinks. Parking cost is too much here. It's almost 400 SEK per each day, buy you still have this alternative that park your car in some public parkings, with 10 minutes walking to the hotel and much lower cost.

Take bus 60 at the railway station and walk for two minutes near the hotel. In the villa area, it is quite convenient. It is inconvenient to eat around, but we ordered breakfast. The hotel room is spacious and bright, and an extra bed can be accommodated. The shower room is as large as one meter by 1.5 meters, and the water volume is huge and the water pressure is high, giving enough hangers. Nordic hotels seem to have no electric kettles, which can be cleaned every day. The reception at the front desk was very warm and friendly. The accommodation was divided into two orders, but the service staff happily merged the two orders without moving around. Nice hotel with rich breakfast.

It was a quite wonderful experience to stay at First G hotel in terms of the following, I can actually say I have never gotten this kind of experience outside of Japan in my life. Their services with smiling faces, breakfast especially scrambled egg and a lot of line up of breads, convenient location to take almost all trams which will take you anywhere in Goteborg, finally entire performance per cost. Very nice modern hotel, super convenient location and friendly service! Avalon is on Kungsportplatsen in city center, easy to go around by walk and tram stops are round the corner. Our superior room was nicely furnished, modern design, comfortable beds and huge bathroom. And extra surprise, own balcony. I asked a quiet room and this room really was it. Service at reception and at restaurant was so friendly and attentive. We were first time in Gothenburg and got all the information we needed when we checked in. The breakfast was also good. The Terrace Bar was nice, too and in the morning the breakfast was possible to have outside. Nice! There is a wide collection of art and design at this hotel, we really liked it. We were super convenient and I really can recommend Avalon!

Having an appointment close by this property has a superb location literally opposite Göteborg central. Great if you are arriving by train, coming by car means that parking is at an (understandable) premium. But, for 395:- a night you get a reasonably spacious garage with direct access to the hotel. The hotel is designed in a square formation with a large atrium in the middle. It's good to be aware that many of the rooms face the atrium, which means your view will be looking out into the atrium. On Friday night the hotel had some event with live DJ and loud (but good!) music - having one of these internal rooms would have been disturbing. The check-in went smoothly, the receptionist recognized my Radisson status and gave us a room overlooking the square (one could see the station from the room!) and it was very quiet (didn't hear anything from the party/event on Friday night). Bathroom was fresh and clean, the shower had decent pressure although it tended to splash water on the floor. The executive room we got was spacious, had a comfy sofa (which didn't feel super clean), very comfortable bed, nespresso machine .. and no shoehorn! It seems to be a disappointing trend for Radisson properties to either have a pathetic small shoehorn, or none at all. The entrance was carpeted which although it had been vacuumed, it felt a little dirty. The rest of the room was wooden floors. The TV looked impressive - a good size .. but it turned out to be quite a dated unit with no accessible HDMI ports, we never used it. Breakfast is not included by default in the rate, and I have mentioned in other Radisson property reviews, this tends to reduce crowding and improve quality significantly. Breakfast was good here, not quite as good as the one in Stockholm, but the staff were overall very good. Didn't have a chance to try the gym or spa, but entering and exiting the lobby area it always felt lively and there was a hub of activity, especially on Friday evening. I would stay here again, and would recommend this property.

Very central hotel located close to the train station. Super nice service at reception and fantastic servive in the oak bar, You have to visit this bar. Nice clean rooms and friendly staff. A littel bit crowdy at breakfast and hard to get seats, So choose another time than peak time when the hotel is almost full. But overall a great place to stay.

Great service, location and value for money! For only a small additional fee they put up an extra bed in our double room for our son, which made staying here cheaper than at less centrally located hostels in Gothenburg. We also appreciated access to refrigerator, microwave, coffee, tea and cookies in the hallway. The breakfast buffet was quite simple but mainly organic. I also appreciate that Le Mat is a social enterprise who create work for people who are far from the labor market. It makes you sleep even better!

It’s very rare you find a hotel that checks all the boxes but this is it for me. Had the friendliest welcome when arriving at a late hour. The check in was quick, easy and I was in my room in no time. I’d forgotten adapters for my electrical items, the hotel was like no problem. Turns out the rooms have USB and USB-C plugs in the rooms so was covered. Moving onto the room. I had the best sleep ever. Perfect climate control. Wonderful views to wake up to and just every little detail was just amazing. After a delicious breakfast (lots of choice, Swedish and international cuisine), I explored the hotel further, the gym looks really good (I didn’t use it… just told myself I should have) and they also had a sauna. Moving outside, the location. The freshest air ever (it was nice to breath there) and literally just over the water from the city centre. If you like to walk, it’s perfectly acceptable however as I travelled with people who don’t like to walk, the hotel directed us to a bus stop one minute away. Literally two stops later, you’re in the centre. The hotel pointed out the work being done on the water front. There’ll soon be the option of getting back and forth that way. Finally, the team. It’s clear that this hotel clearly has the customers at the heart of what they do. Everyone I spoke to was warm, friendly and open to sharing hints and tips to make our stay in Gothenburg magical. And it was… EVERYONE needs to visit this wonderful city. I’m already planning my next trip and I will definitely stay again at this hotel.

I was very impressed by the hotel, it was clean, plenty of towels and bathroom products and I found all the staff friendly and helpful. It was also great to walk inside the airport to get to the hotel. Breakfast, I thought, was amazing. Loads of choices of food and drink. Everything looked fresh. The room looked out over the runway, our family liked to look, I guess it depends on what you like! We stayed here two nights and went into Gothenburg, it worked out cheaper to rent a car for two days than take the airport bus so we parked at the park and ride and used the ‘to go’ app to travel around the city. We did not eat at the restaurant but had a drink. Prices are higher than U.K. My children used the pool, there were clean towels and changing rooms there and they enjoyed it, you can book 24 before you use. Gym looked good but I didn’t use it. I would definitely return but couldn’t stay longer as prices are generally higher than the U.K.

We really wanted to like this place. The location seemed nice online - but in person you are surrounded by construction - this is 2021 but from what I can find the construction is going to be here for a while. It’s almost like the whole city is under construction. It makes navigating around the hotel, on foot, via bike/scooter, or in a car - very challenging. There is a ton of public transport here though. Which brings me to the next bad point. Noise. If you’re on the 6th floor with the balconies - don’t expect to leave your doors open unless you like noise. The busses and trains and other traffic are fairly quiet as far as transit goes - but they do make noise, as well as the traffic signals. And they run all the time. In addition - anything on the 6th floor and you get thumping bass music *all night* from the nightclub above you (especially on weekends). Damn near impossible to sleep. Another thing which bugged us (may not bug you) is a lot of people smoking on their patios around us made ours smell bad fairly often. The bathroom is a very neat concept - but executed poorly. The shower would flood water into the main part of the bathroom - like there is not enough slope or drain in the shower and no lip to keep water in there - so it just runs out under the door into the main bathroom area. The restaurants and bars in the hotel are nice. Breakfast was decent - nothing to be amazed by - but it will get you going for the day (although it was really crowded and often very hard to find a socially distanced seat - but this may not apply too long into the future I hope - this review is 2021). The bed is comfortable and the room nice enough. The patio chairs were not the most comfortable, and there was broken glass all around our patio so we had to wear shoes when walking out there. The view was very nice - albeit full of construction (not the fault of the hotel of course). Overall a nice place with lots of tiny flaws that made it annoying. Maybe if you stay farther away from the night club or on one of the lower floors it would be nicer or quieter. Not sure if the bathroom issues would exist in other rooms - if it is a design flaw it probably would.
