First of all, the room is very large, the facilities in the old hotel are quite modern in Europe, the breakfast is not bad or bad, the standard European hotel buffet breakfast. The hotel is located outside the city, if you walk to the attraction at least 2.5 kilometers, but there is a bus at the entrance of the hotel, 33 or 31 directly to the city center. In fact, it is quite convenient. Finally, there is a spit point, the service is really bad. We stayed for two days and didn't even arrange the room! ! ! After I communicated at the front desk, I was a waiter. I only speak Spanish. I don’t know English. The result of the communication is that I have sent two bath towels. The host was very helpful giving us a map, explaining the best public transport ways into town and to The Alhambra. The hotel is a quirky design, all rooms are on one floor accessed along a winding corridor from the front to the back of the building. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. You can park around the hotel in side streets but it was very busy, even at a quiet time of the year, we took the option of parking in the underground secure garage (€8 per night - well worth it for peace of mind). Breakfast was a simple affair of bread, croissant and tea or coffee plus orange juice but was adequate.

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights at the Saylu Hotel, which is outside of Granada city centre. Many hotels in the city centre were booked out for Semana Santa and the remaining hotels available did not have ensuite bedrooms so we booked to stay here. I am glad because staying close to the festivities in the city would have driven me crazy! Saylu Hotel was a 40 minute journey from the bus station using public transport and there is a bus, the S2, a short walk from the hotel, which brings you to the city centre in less than 20 minutes.The La Alhambra is a very short taxi drive away for a little under €8. The hotel is basic and a bit dated as mentioned in other reviews. It was, however, very clean. The receptionist and cleaning staff were all very friendly. A breakfast buffet is available at €4.50 / person and we enjoyed our breakfast and the amount of choice. Our bedroom did not have air conditioning or a fridge. The room did get very hot at night and my boyfriend did not want to sleep with the window open as there was too much noise from the motorway. I would suggest to guests coming in spring and certainly in the summer to insist that they get a room with AC and a fridge when making a booking. There is nothing much of interest in the area around the hotel, except for possibly the huge shopping centre. The hotel is much much cheaper during off peak seasons and I am sure the price is what makes it very attractive. For a budget hotel, it ticks all the boxes.

For a four star hotel the restaurant was only 1 star which is why I marked it so low. We were only here for 2 nights which was long enough! We has dinner in the first night, what a mistake! There was a very poor choice of dishes, nothing was labelled so you had no idea what to choose. Staff were too slow to top up dishes. Breakfast was absolute chaos. Only 2 drinks machines with long queues at both. Poor selection of food that was not replenished quickly enough for volume of diners. Our room was acceptable but nothing special. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill with one or two shops a short walk away, but no bars and the drinks in the hotel are very expensive. The one thing close by is the Alhambra. There are also bus stops nearby along with the hop on, hop off train that goes around Granada. The hotel will order a taxi for you, around €5 down to the centre of Granada. The Alhambra is not to be missed and I'd recommend the train that goes around the city.

Hotel location is good, the side is the monastery, there is no parking space to stop the paid parking lot, 20 euros a day, we are four hours a day, receiving 28 euros. The room is OK, breakfast is average but no problem. The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the Old Town and the Cathedral, 9.5 Euros (10 minutes) to the Alhambra, and a 40-minute walk (the mountain road is not easy). It is said that you can take the bus.

My family stayed two nights in this hotel on a tour of Alhambra Palace. The outside common area of the hotel, including the dining room, was very well maintained and could deserve a 5-star rating. The rooms inside were a different story. We occupied two rooms. One was a “superior deluxe room,” and the other was a “classic city-view double room.” Both had the same price tag. The deluxe room was spacious and well-lit but had an odd arrangement with a useless bathtub in the center. Moreover, the room smelled of sewage when we entered the room—which I notified the management. They disagreed and claimed there was no sewage smell. I did not appreciate the response, as all four of our family members smelled of sewage. Nor did I escalate the issue, as our stay was short. The city-view room had a small window overlooking the city without much viewing space. The room was tiny, with two twin beds packed in the room, and was poorly lit. It felt like being in a prison cell. The shower doors in both rooms did not close fully, so the water splashed out. In short, both rooms were substandard and did not deserve the price tag at all. My recommendation to travelers is to stay elsewhere, and if you need to stay there, avoid the small “city-view” rooms and Deluxe Room #331 that smells of sewage. I got to love Spain and its people who are very friendly and helpful, but not this hotel.

The first room was badly smelled in the bathroom and put us next to a family of incivics who left us unsleeved. The next day we had the air and we asked for room change for the bad neighbors we had. We were changed without problems and with much friendliness. No mini-fridge. Good location. Great features is not bad for the price.
