No microwave in the room. Bathroom fan wasn't working, spa was down and the room smelled bad.

You get what you pay for. It was only for 1 night during an off-season weekend evening. The hot tub wasn’t working so they gave us a pool pass to their sister property a mile up the road. This hotel could be so much better if they just fixed it & updated it a little more. The mattress was very bouncy (I like a firm bed) and the room was a little smelly. Again, the best but not the worst. About what you’d expect for $75/night.

The office manager was very friendly and helpful, especially in offering a really good breakfast.

This property is so disgusting, dirty and smelled sooooooo bad. Mold in bathroom, the whole room was dirty, hair, moldy and the bed was the worst we ever slept on in our lives and we are not picky, it was so bad I lifted the sheets to see what we were laying on and the very very old cheap mattress was disgusting with stains all over. I was scared of bed bugs but didn’t get bit up surprisingly!!! The continental breakfast is such a joke, there was NOTHING and what they had poptarts and cereal boxes were old and stale. Absolutely, not worth the price. We would not stay here again if they paid us to. We stay in Grand Marais or the surrounding area every fall. Advice… pay the extra for a clean hotel!!!!

I've stayed here several times before and enjoyed my stay but this time was different. The room was more run down, the heat was not on and it was chilly at night, the neighbors were loud and the bed and pillows were super uncomfortable and need replacing. Also the front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. I absolutely love Grand Marais and this really is the only financially feasible lodging available in my budget range so I'm hopeful that they make some improvements so we can once again enjoy our stay with them.

The room itself was clean. The staff friendly. The breakfast area was adequate and was available all day until they closed. The heat/air conditioner unit was working minimally. Thankfully there was a large box fan to use to move the air around. The exterior was in need of repair with ripped screens, a broken door and parking and driveway in need of new surfacing. For the price that I paid I would have expected better. This place was selected because other places were already booked and I really wanted to go this weekend. I would not recommend this motel and I will not use them again.

This was not the experience I thought that I had booked. Very disappointing based on the marketing of the place. It's an old motel.

the hottub was not open, the parking lot needs work and the breakfast didn't have very many choices. Also the photo was decieving.

Coffee was great. Friendly staff. Dislikes were air conditioning, electrical outlets, TV choices no ESPN, no coffeemaker or microwave
