I thought that this room could stay here all the time. The only disappointing thing was the light of the washbasin. There is only lighting on the head and you can't make up on the washbasin. Stayed for a reconstruction volunteer in Sendai. We stayed for 3 nights. The parking lot and the people staying 々 were full of reconstruction related civil engineering. The hotel itself was a simple makeup like a prefabrication, but it was a convenient hotel with everything in place. There is a shower in the room, but there is also a little big bath, and there is also a coin laundry. The dining room had a regular meal every day and it was very delicious. There are several other business hotels, and although they are a little further away from Kamaishi Station compared to those hotels, it's still only a 15-minute walk from Kamaishi Station. It's also easy to find as it's located along the main street in the city center. The configuration and size of each room, the maintenance of cleanliness, and the responsiveness of the staff are on par with standard business hotels. However, the hotel offers a free ”Kamaishi Ramen” service to its guests for a limited time during the night, but I do not recommend the use of this service at all. Not only are there many guests using this service, but there are only one or two staff members (as far as I could see) in charge of the service (cooking and serving). Moreover, not only do you have to wait to enter the restaurant on the first floor, but it can take more than 30 minutes before your dish is served even after you are seated. If that is the case, I would recommend using one of the restaurants or taverns in the vicinity of the hotel.

Oshu is my wife’s hometown where she hasn’t lived since high school. We took a long holiday there in July-August, with our daughter, and stayed the whole time in the Plaza Inn. The hotel has one suite on the top floor, which we occupied. It has a spacious living room and a separate bedroom, with wonderful views over the town to the mountains beyond. It was a very comfortable stay of over two weeks. The place really felt like home. The only complaint I might have is that the hotel could use some renovation. Although it nowadays is a nonsmoking establishment, some of the public areas still have a faint odor of cigarette smoke from bygone years. The hotel has two restaurants, as well as a cozy coffee lounge. We’d eat breakfast at one every morning. It’s comfortable and the quality is good, although the Western style breakfast selection is somewhat limited. They also serve Japanese and Chinese breakfast. The Western style restaurant is a popular lunch spot, especially among local ladies. The Japanese restaurant, Kikusui, is one of — if not — the best in town and also very cozy, serving a variety of smaller and larger Japanese dishes, as well as a great selection of sake and shochu. Plaza Inn is located in what can be termed the “new center” of the rather sprawling town with a great variety of good restaurants and shops within a walking distance. There’s no doubt we’ll stay there again.
