My nephew had his wedding here and it was incredible!! My husband and 2 children stayed in an adjoining suite and it was so beautiful. Rooms were clean, had great amenities that unfortunately we couldn't totally indulge in but we did use the arcade and my kids loved that. The wedding was on the mountain top and all the guests went up in the chair lifts which was so awe inspiring. The views were breathtaking, the wild life was extraordinary, just such a beautiful experience. Food was great too! They had great wines and cocktails, appetizers were so delicious and entrées were terrific. My husband and I work in hospitality/food & beverage industry and we were so impressed. The bride and groom were also very happy with their experience here. Would definitely recommend and we are totally looking forward to taking another trip.

My family and I had a very bad experience at the Kaatskill Mountain Club on February 24, 2024. I would not recommend this property to any travelers looking to visit Hunter Mountain. The Holiday Inn in Saugerties NY is a much better option. I hope this helps other travelers make a better decision than we did when we regrettably booked a room at the Kaatskill Mountain Club. We found the front desk staff to be rude and unwelcoming, and the property is badly outdated. The beds need to be replaced and we found the heat in the rooms difficult to regulate. The pictures and descriptions on the website do not accurately reflect the quality of this property from our experience. 1 Star Review. Advise against booking a room at this property. Better options in the area.

This lodge is acceptable but not much more. On the good side, the outdoor heated pool is lovely. Children seemed to enjoy if tremendously. The mostly Peruvian staff of the restaurant and bar were warm and welcoming. The menu has most bases covered. The bar was well-stocked. On the bad side, the only breakfast option was coffee and mini-muffins with some other packaged pastries. For more you would need to head over to the main ski lodge at 8:30. I like a hearty breakfast so this was disappointing. The in-room accommodations are adequate, a little drab but clean. A note to EV car users: there is a charging station a short distance away, close to the main lodge complex. It’s the kind that takes 8 hours to recharge your car, but there was no competition for the two slots. It’s an 8 min walk back to the lodge. The night clerk offered a ride.

I never write reviews, but our experience at this hotel was really unfortunate. While I appreciate its proximity to the mountain, there are a few basic things that I would expect from a hotel that charges $500 a night. - the refrigerator in the room was making a loud humming sound. It took 3 hours for maintenance to arrive. They tried to fix it and could not. The noise stopped for some time and then my son woke us up at 5 AM because he could not sleep. We ended up turning the refrigerator off. In the morning maintenance came and said that this was normal refrigeration sound and we are just not used to sleeping with one in a room. I explained to him that we travel all the time and my kids sleep in the room with a kitchen and this is never a problem. He said he ll come back later.. not sure if he did, we went skiing and the noise was there when we returned. - you are given 4 pool towels- if you need more because you used them, you are out of luck.. there is no daily housekeeping in the room, and when I called the front desk they said the hotel is full and they don’t have towels and housekeeping is backed up. For almost $500 a night not to have enough towels!! - the pool is advertised as warm and it is far from that. While it might be ok with kids who are running around, it’s way too cold for leisure swim.

BUYER BEWARE. I booked a room for mid December for a couple of nights - long before the holiday season rush and their potential to sell out the rooms for the x-mas holiday season Unfortunately had to cancel due to an unforeseen family issue. When I requested a refund for the $736.00 was advised that I had booked an option that does not allow you to cancel or get a refund. In hindsight the on line reservation option was a little sketchy on that front hence my mistake. When I explained this to them they said too bad and that no refund will be issued. Partly my fault for sure but for sure the hotel was not sold out and they were not losing out on an unsold room nights. So much for customer service.

We literally booked the day we were going there. It was the only place available for a group of 8, on 4th of July weekend, but we literally called Friday for the same day booking. When we got there we were pleasantly surprised. Full kitchen with plenty of space, full fridge. Everything was clean, the pool is heated. The hot tubs are great! Got to ride up the lift, to the top of the mountain, right near the resort.

My husband and I stayed here Memorial Day weekend since we were doing the NORA off road tour. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out we had a great experience. Pawlee checked us in and made it so easy (she even upgraded us to a Studio deluxe when we initially booked a studio). Thank you Pawlee!! We loved the studio deluxe since it came with a full kitchen including a dishwasher which we weren’t expecting! The room was clean and had a Murphy bed. We never slept in a Murphy bed before so we found it pretty cool. It was so comfortable that it was hard to get up out of bed in the morning. The room also had a table with 4 chairs, a sofa which I think is a sofa bed since extra linens were provided. It even had an electric fireplace which we didn’t use since it is summer. The closet was pretty big for a studio room as well and came with an iron and small ironing board. The room itself was quite large for a studio which we also weren’t expecting (hence studio “deluxe”!) Overall, we loved our room!! If you’re a couple looking for more space book the studio deluxe. The front desk staff was amazing as well!!! Taylor and Krista helped us so much with our *********** mishap. They went above and beyond to ensure we were accommodated! Thank you Taylor and Krista! We will definitely return!

A very nice place but was disappointed that it was NOT ski in/ski out which was one big reason that we booked this facility. Sadly the weather has not been good for skiing and as a result there was no snow to ski in or out on. So call first and ask If ski in/out is important to you otherwise you can walk down hill to the lifts. On a more positive note, the room we had was the cleanest room we been in over the past few years!!

My boyfriend and i just stayed at the KMC for a long weekend and it was great! All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Our queen studio room was clean and comfortable, had a couch and coffee table and all amenities were supplied. There’s no fridge or microwave in the kitchenette but we put our cooler on the balcony and it was perfect. We ate at VanWinkles twice and our food was good. The bartender Johnny is a plus! We used the hot tub each evening and the sauna a couple times too. The heated pool was awesome but when it’s windy and below freezing, the hot tub is the place to be. All of the guests, including kids were pleasant and well behaved. We were able to drop in on a green hill from the parking lot and snowboarded for 3 days straight. There is a cold, basic continental breakfast daily (coffee, oatmeal, some type of fruit, bagels or uncrustables, etc) We will 100% be returning.

This resort lodge lives up to its description. Well appointed, with all the facilities typical in a ski resort lodge and priced for it. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And always cheerful. Unfortunately, if you are there to enjoy the outdoors, like we were for wheeling on the Mountain, there will be no time to enjoy them. Also, both the restaurant and fitness center open too late in the morning to be useful. That said, I will return.

This place is an absolute joke to try to book with. They “lost” my reservation and the price magically doubled within 2 weeks. They take advantage of people and it’s a shame. Better off booking elsewhere or an air BNB- will be cheaper and save you a headache.

I haven't actually logged in to Tripadvisor for quite some time, but based on the negative comments I saw when booking the room, I really felt to need to share some positive feedback with my experience. I really didn't expect much based on what I read prior to my stay. I was certain I would be coming into a somewhat beat-up room, have to document any prior damage so they did not try to charge me, and deal with some overworked staff and frustrated guests. This honestly couldn't have been further from the truth. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome gift and pleasant personnel at the front desk. It was 4:30PM on a Friday, so I expected a wait and hectic environment, but it was actually quite smooth. I had one family in front of me, and the ski-check/bell-hop area had at least 2-3 people working to make sure there was no congestion. I was in my room within 10 minutes, including unloading and checking 5 pairs of skis along with the getting the related gear to our room on a readily available cart. The room itself (2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite) was quite a bit larger than expected. A living area with seating for 4 plus a dining table for 6, full kitchen, master bedroom with a larger bathroom, and secondary bedroom which had a separate seating area and bathroom. It was all more than enough space for a family of 5, and allowed the parents quite a bit of privacy as the pull out couch in the secondary bedroom was able to be used rather than the living room. The décor is a bit traditional for my taste, but I was more surprised for how well taken care of everything was. There was no chipped paint on the moldings, no ripped carpeting, no scrapes on the walls, etc. These are the things you sort of come to expect in a ski hotel where people are coming in and out with big jackets, hard boots, helmets, etc.. I would imagine this is why some people have complained about nuance charges for damage, but understanding the property is actually individually owned (quarter share) condos, it makes sense that the staff has to be meticulous about these things, as the 'owners' of those rooms will certainly push to have any minor issues corrected. If they didn't charge for them, you would certainly be seeing rooms in disrepair, or much higher nightly charges to cover the expenses. The amenities (restaurant, pool, hot tubs) were open and good enough that we felt we wouldn't have had to leave the resort to enjoy a 2-3 night stay. The staff was friendly, the food was fairly diverse and above average, and it never once felt overcrowded. I would add that we also spoke with many other families at the hot tub and bar who all shared very similar experiences. I just received my satisfaction survey from the whole which did not prompt me to write a review on Tripadvisor, which I found especially odd since the listing on the webiste shows Tripadvisor reviews, but is does tie in to why you are seeing so many negative reviews on this site (all spaced several weeks or even months

Very nice long weekend. Rooms were nice with full kitchens. Clean, comfortable and big enough for our family. Restaurant was nice. Perfect for a long ski weekend. Went with friends and they agreed the lodge was a great find. We will be back for another visit.

For my boyfriend’s birthday, I got us both two day passes to Hunter. We stayed two nights in a Kaatskill Mountain Club suite and we both loved it. The room was clean and was exactly what we had expected. The mountain was decent too for being open so early in the season. A little icy but we expected that since there was rain on and off all weekend. The ski patrol and hotel workers were great as well. However, we had two awful dining/bar experiences that absolutely pissed me off and ruined the experience… YOUNGER COUPLES BEWARE The bar at the base lodge looked so appealing from the start. My mom has been to Hunter many times and told us that we must go during our visit. Upon taking a seat at the bar, an old lady working looked absolutely disgusted to see us sitting in her section. I thought it was maybe because my boyfriend and I were the youngest looking couple there and that she assumed we were underaged (I’m 23 and he’s 24 so, I get that). After staring at our IDs for an uncomfortable minute, she took our order. He got a beer and I got a rum and coke - nothing fancy. She handed us our bill and as I went to add a tip she said “18% tip is already included cant you read the sign?” and proceeded to walk to the end of the bar, pick up a sign that I very much could not see from where I was sitting, walked back, and slammed it down on the bar in front of my face. Whatever. My bad I guess. THEN, literally 30 seconds after I paid the check, my boyfriend was twirling the beer cap in between his fingers and this MISERABLE woman came up and ripped it out of his hands like he was a toddler. She didn’t say a word, just turned around and threw it out. In hindsight, maybe he shouldn’t have been playing with a bottle cap (lol) but he wasn’t making a sound or disturbing anyone. And even if he was, miss Karen should have used her words like an adult. I’ve never felt an urge to throw my drink on anyone ever until that moment. Thankfully, we both brushed it off, finished our drinks, and walked away. I was so upset because I was really looking forward to just relaxing and having a few drinks after a long day of skiing. I cant think of any reason she treated us this way besides the fact that maybe we looked a little too young. She seemed to be friendly with everyone else. We had a similar experience the night before at the Van Winkle restaurant located at the resort. When we got there, we took our seats and a younger waiter threw menus down and said “what do you want?” When we ordered drinks, he also analyzed our IDs for an uncomfortable amount of time and rolled his eyes when he handed them back to us. Again, we look young, I get it. He was just rude and wanted us gone as soon as possible for the rest of the dining experience. He was going out of his way to make us realize how much he did not want to wait on us. He seemed to be friendly with his other tables though so I don’t know what the issue was. The only thing I can come up with is that we looked too young to
