Lovely area but wouldn’t return to the resort. Upon arrival, the two ‘deluxe’ suites we had booked transpired to be small, dark dirty one bedroom rooms. The sofa bed (2nd bedroom!) didn’t have any bedding or even a mattress, the internal phone didn’t work and the air conditioning blew humid air. There was no food available despite the fact we were travelling with children and our greeting was far from warm. The manager did move us the following day to two larger suites, but the word ‘luxury’ is still not what I would use to describe fairly shabby and basic rooms. (If you look at the website it’s a very different picture) The view makes the hotel viable as a budget holiday destination but certainly not as a luxury resort. The food is standard All Inclisive fare, if you like cake you’ll be fine. Otherwise it’s cold grey eggs and browning salads. We’ve eaten out every night to avoid the food but the kids have enjoyed the included ice creams and soft drinks. Lobby is packed with sugary snacks which they also loved, and if you’re so inclined you can drink alcohol most of the day. (I don’t so can’t comment on quality) Kids club was closed for the majority of the trip as were 4 out of the 5 restaurants including the pool bar and beach restaurant. I am still looking for the ‘Marti Mini: Kids' CulinaryParadise!‘ for the children. (See picture) There is not much to do in the evening at all, except a one hour mini disco which was held in the hotel lobby until the last two nights. Despite advertising shows, games, volleyball and pool games the entertainment schedule consists of darts or table tennis. This may be due to the fact it’s early in the season but if you open and charge (quite a bit!) then you really need to offer the services too. The hotel itself is large, the public areas are on the whole well kept, but the exterior is shabby, with lots of red tape where building work is being undertaken. Bedding is clean (but doesn’t get changed during stay) but towels are threadbare and stiff. Basic Toiletries are provided but I would suggest bringing your own. We found broken plates and glass outside our room after a late night disco blared music from a party at full volume until past midnight. I am no bore but I have young children and we were unable to escape the noise as the air conditioning unit continues to blow out luke warm air making the rooms unbearable. This is a common experience of guests here yet the hotel staff just shrug and say ‘it’s centrally controlled’ Generally the staff are courteous with the glaring exception of the reception staff who are so rude it’s almost laughable. The shining gem at this resort is the spa, where you are made to feel cocooned and welcome, I can’t recommend the ladies there highly enough. Overall it’s a below average hotel, to be listed as 5 star is very misleading, anticipate a 2-3 star and you won’t be so disappointed. I personally expected better from the photos and descriptions
