For over 30 years, my friends and I have been visiting the Coachella Valley for golf. The Indian Palms Country Club is one of the places go to "play and stay". I travel a lot, and I'd say the hotel rooms are good for the price. They show a bit of wear from frequent guests, but they're generally clean and well-kept. The mattress is comfortable, the sheets and towels are fresh, and the furniture is in good shape. The room is one thing, but the overall hotel experience is another--and that's where things fall short. Examples: The hotel is not staffed on-site, around the clock. One evening, I returned to my room only to discover my key card didn't work. I went over to the security booth. Although the security team aren't hotel employees, they fortunately had a master key that let me back in. It was lucky I planned to stay in for the night, since they couldn't issue me a new key. If that master key hadn't worked, they would have had to contact an on-call hotel employee. The key cards and room locks were a bit finicky. Our group had booked five rooms in total, and I wasn't the only one who ended up locked out in the middle of the stay. I understand that business is slow during the summer, but the hotel suspends its cable subscription during the low season (?) I understand that almost everyone has a mobile phone nowadays. Is that the reason telephones have been removed from the rooms? There used to be an ice machine by the hotel laundry room, another in the cart barn, and one more in the clubhouse kitchen. Now, the clubhouse kitchen has the only one left. One morning, as our group was getting ready to head out for a round of golf, we learned that the machine broke down overnight--and there wasn't any fresh ice anywhere on the property! It seems the hotel management office hasn't been open for some time. For check-ins or handling other hotel-related matters, head over to the golf pro shop inside the clubhouse. Putting sentimentality aside, I'm giving a low score in the hope that ownership takes this review as an opportunity for improvement. I also can't overlook the chorus of complaints from my travel companions. Finally, I'll give Nick and Samantha "five stars". Interacting with them, I can tell they're trying--but I think ownership is impeding their efforts.

The price was only thing that was right. The smoke detector was covered by plastic. There was no blanket on the bed or anywhere in the room. The front desk closed at 5 so nobody to ask for a blanket. No one to check out with the next morning. The bath towel was worn out with holes in it.

Room was not clean. Ceiling was coming down in bathroom. Front desk said it slipped her mind to let me know there was no TV service. When called to complain was told I could immediately vacate room for refund but that would take up 7 days to return on my card. I was dropped off so unable to vacate immediately. Was moved into another room thank you to golf pros. They were 5 star and extremely helpful. Hotel has zero customer service and needs updated along with helpful people. They advertise the front desk is open from 8 am to 10 pm. No not true. They do not come in until after 11 am and leave before 7 pm. Mold in shower and 1 roll of toilet paper. Towels are stained and look like they just used. Management walked into room that I was moved to and said I was in violation for not checking out at 11. Yet I was comped another night. Took 3 hours to straighten everything out. My negative 1 ⭐

The absolute worst. 100 plus degrees and non working AC. No cable TV or ability to cast to dumbtv. 1 towel per 2 people. I definitely would not recommend this place. Long line to get through gate. Mismanagement of registration. Just a joke. Sad.

It was a horrible experience to say the least for 160.00 per night! No towels, had to beg for more TP, room filthy with other people’s hair. Mold in the shower, drain in sink not working. No blanket for the cold at night, a TOTAL disastrous stay for a lot of money. Don’t recommend this place at all! Will never stay there again. And the TV was disastrous also. Very very disgusting indeed….the room was never cleaned. I gave up running to the receptionist for things. Should not be a hotel at all!

This property has so much potential. The setting is stunningly beautiful, but the resort is so mis-managed. Really sad. Our room needed cleaning. Simple TLC would go a long way. Regrouting the tub, cleaning the window sills, fixing the shower door and sink stopper, basic derp cleaning is needed. The worst is that the restaurant is closed. We could not even get a cup of coffee.

Do not be deceived by the photos shown of the "resort" hotel. First day of check in no one was in the office, when you try to call the office the mailbox is full and you cannot talk to anyone or leave a message. The room we were given had no cups or coffee maker and no BLANKETS on the bed. The toilet barely flushed so we were nervous to EVEN use it. Called to the front desk at least 6 times before someone answered they told me that they didn't have cups and that they had just given out the last blankets ! I was asked if I wanted to change rooms ? I asked if that rooms has blankets sure, and was told no ( not sure what good that would have done) called to the front the mext day was told they had ONE blanket for two people with a room with two beds. Sent my daughter to go get it, when she got there three people just stared at her through the locked door, so then I had to go down. The "blanket " I was given was pulled out from under some dirty boxes in a back room and smelled horrible, it was also NOT a blanket it was the cover to put over the blanket. I asked to speak to the manager Samantha who I still have not been called back or been able to make any contact with in 3 days. Other groups staying here with us all had similar problems. Do not stay here save your money.

Disappointing stay. One hand towel, one facecloth and 2 bath towels for two people. No extras and the towels were never changed. Only a sheet and extremely thin gauzy blanket on each bed, no bedspread. Sheets had large holes (size of my palm) that were patched with a threadbare piece of another sheet. Friends staying in another room had only sheet and no blanket on their beds. They were told they had no blankets to give them. Line up to get through vehicle check in gate every time we came back to the hotel took 10-15 minutes. Literally EVERY time. Pool and hot tub were tiny. No ice machine. Kitchenette in room, but no kitchen sink. No glasses or cups. No coffee maker. Very challenging to get in contact with any staff. Would not go back and would not recommend staying here.
