Once at the top, you can lie down on the grass, take a picnic break and enjoy the wonderful view of the most beautiful part of Varmland.The Rottnansee with its location reminiscent of fjords is framed by mountains and with its length of about 20 km it is also not very small. Ideal for long canoe trips.The wider area: You will certainly be in Sunne more than once because of the larger offer for daily needs. Just leave the car at the train station and treat yourself to a train ride to the state capital Karlstad. The journey will not disappoint, because it leads you along Frykensee and is one of the most beautiful train routes that I know. This way you will also get to know the 'metropolis' Karlstad. You can also drive from Sunne in the opposite direction to Torsby along Frykensee and make a detour to Tossebergs-Klättan and enjoy the lake landscape from there. It is worthwhile in any case; and from Torsby, which is only 35 km away from us, every morning a small propeller plane flies directly to Stockholm and back in the evening. That may sound a bit extravagant, but we have already done it ourselves and just loved it. Of course Oslo does and is easy to reachWhat are the special features?: At this point, I don't want to give any travel guide wisdom, but rather give special tips, one of which is for gourmets, because game specialties such as bear steak, wild cock and elk loin are not available in every restaurant. The best we know can be found 25 km behind Gräsmark. It is lonely at the Tvällensee and is simply called 'Värdshus'. Turn in Gräsmark towards Torsby, but follow the road straight towards the Norwegian border to Simonstorp, where you continue for another 2 km and see the 'Värdshus'. The gastronomy is just great and you sit very comfortably. On the way there you will pass Lake Kymmen. There is a wonderful barbecue area under the trees here, if you prefer rustic (and a sandy beach). Perhaps you would also like to retreat to a small forest or have fun in one of the meadows: the property simply gives everything. A canoe is ready for you on the lake shore, just 350 meters away. The riparian zone is pretty flat for the first 20 to 40 meters. (Information for families with young children.) The lake is of drinking water quality. The ring road around the lake is an ideal terrain for bike tours. The house is not only suitable for summer guests, but also for winter vacationers due to its good access to the street in ice and snow.The Rottnansee, on which the house is located, is hardly accessible for tourists - good for you if you want to experience pure nature. The Swedish king felt the same way, which is why he has his summer residence here on Lake Rottnansee. But if you really want to 'get on with it' for tourism, you will find pretty much everything you need in a ten to fifteen-minute drive (20 km): a water park with an incredible number of slides in Sunne am Frykensee, with a bowling alley, mini Golf and discotheque next door - and if you don't want to drive that far, Rottneros Park with an adventure playground for children and the manor house with its wonderful facilities for adults. Everything is right on one of the many lakes as it should be, including the golf course, which despite its fantastic location offers fair prices.The journey as a valuable part of the holiday: the journey to the holiday destination does not have to be tiring. Even those who use the ferry connection to Sweden via Puttgarden will appreciate the 'coffee break' on the ship. But why don't you even travel by ferry from Kiel to Oslo? From Oslo there are only 2 hours driving to us: You stayed on the ferry and enjoyed the beautiful entry into the Oslo Fjord in the morning - so the last section is a pleasure. Fortify yourself at the Scandinavian buffet of the ferry and take your time for a stroll through Oslo! By the way: the ferry is not that expensive if you book in time. Some of our guests are even smart early bookers and reserve the ferry at the same time as the holiday home: there is a little cruise feeling. The route from Kiel to Gothenburg is also recommended. From Gothenburg there are still 4 hours by car to us: Every part of the section that counts counts. We have thoroughly renovated Villa Rintetorp for over two years: new roof, triple-glazed windows, new wooden ceilings, doors, floors and completely new technology. The water from the deep well is of drinking quality. The kitchen is top standard with fridge / freezer combination, touch screen hob, oven, dishwasher etc. The dining table in the kitchen is designed for 6 people. The living room has a southern exposure and a wonderful view of nature;the seating group is high quality, comfortable and can also accommodate 6 people; An LED TV can be swiveled into the room as desired. German television is preprogrammed via Astra satellite. We have had an extra 4 km of fiber optic cables laid for this house so that you don't have to do without Internet (W-LAN) and streaming films. The unlimited use of fast data traffic is an unusual luxury here in the wild.The interior of Villa Rintetorp is kept in a light, Scandinavian style. The bedroom on the ground floor has its own access to a small bathroom with shower. You will hardly find a top-renovated holiday home with a whirlpool and high-speed internet in the middle of the wilderness in Värmland. Here, the elks march freely in front of your terrace across the property - provided you are a little sensitive and do not cover the forest with hard rock all day. A royal eagle pair is also breeding nearby. The surrounding lakes (and there are a few, apart from fast-flowing streams) are likely to be yours. The hiking tours directly from the house are infinite in their possibilities and the animal observation should set in by itself if you behave discreetly (tip: early in the morning). The famous Sieben-Höfe-Weg is very close - you can reach it from the back, as it were, via really very lonely paths.The "Värdshus am Tvällen" (known for its quality also in other editions) is very close to you (5 km).
