The avid hotel Chattanooga South - Ringgold sits just off I-75 in Ringgold, GA, within a short drive of downtown Chattanooga, the rolling foothills of North Georgia, and the carpet-mill heritage of nearby Dalton. The location is quiet, the suburbs are leafy, and the Tennessee state line is only minutes up the interstate. It's a practical place to land for travelers who'd rather sleep in and sleep well than fight for downtown parking.
Civil War history runs deep here. The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is a quick drive away, and the historic Western and Atlantic Railroad Tunnel still stands as one of the oldest in the South. Families head to Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park for old-school rides and lakeside picnics. Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, and Rock City sit roughly twenty minutes out, making us one of the easier places to stay near Chattanooga, too.
Inside, we keep things simple and do them well. Sound-sleep rooms come with pillow-top mattresses, blackout shades, and sound-reducing headboards built for real rest. Mornings start with a free hot breakfast, and freshly ground bean-to-cup coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby. Add a 24-hour gym, 24-hour market, free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking, and pet-friendly rooms for your dog. No frills, no fuss, just the basics done well.
"Super clean, modern & friendly! Also great breakfast!
I seen when the girls were cleaning rooms tha the beds were completely stripped. That’s always reassuring, especially after having to leave a hotel were it was obviously not done.
Loved the extras- we had dove products and make-up wipes. Just the simple things when traveling are nice to come across.
Breakfast- our options were scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, several cereals with regular and almond milk- loved that. Bagels, muffins, several fruits, oatmeal with many topping options, granola bars, 4 different juices, protein yogurt which is a huge plus as a weight loss patient. I might be forgetting a few things. The lady dealing with the breakfast area was super nice as well.
Coffee was ground in the spot in a fancy machine with several good creamer options, not just half and half.
water machine- which was a huge plus for us.
Accessibility- top notch. We have a full time wheelchair user and the room was massive, we typically do standard rooms but they had accessible rooms at the same price so of course we took it. It had a shower seat and massive bathroom. All the drink machines had lower accessible buttons on them. It’s really the little things that make life much easier for disabled people.
Avid is on top on our list now!"
