AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Taksim Istanbul|1.34km from Kirim Church
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Not bad, the front desk service attitude was very good and they helped call a car. Although the room was not big, it was very clean. It's just a little noisy outside facing the street. The sound insulation is also okay, overall good

This is a seriously classy hotel in a great location a couple Of steps from Galata tower. Rooms were spacious and well furnished… bed was very comfortable. Lovely balcony which ( in our accommodation) overlooked the garden area, which meant it was quiet. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, special thanks to Yasin for his support in restaurant recommendations and general helpfulness. Thinking the tea and coffee in the room were complimentary, we were quite surprised to be presented with a bill for the two coffees we had in the room… especially unhelpful in the general melee of trying to get into the airport taxi with all the usual faffs on departure. We also didn’t visit the restaurant to eat, which had a lovely view down onto the bosphorus, but was particularly expensive in my view. If we returned to Istanbul, we would stay here again.

I have mixed feelings giving this hotel 2-stars out of 5. My wife and I are currently staying 2 nights in a Junior Suite. The hotel is clean, well-designed, well-appointed. The location is unbeatable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Suite is large and comfortable (though, being on the 2nd floor, the view isn't great). However, since we arrived we have not been able to get the room heater to work, and the shower water is warm at best (and only after running it for at least 5 minutes which is a monumental waste of water) . The first night, a maintenance man came and said everything was ”normal”. Not wanting to make a fuss, we bundled up for the night. I lodged a complaint the 2nd day, and they sent a technical crew in the evening. They managed to fix the heater and shower, but everything broke down again an hour later. We are transferring tonight to a smaller room, which hopefully will work better. So watch this space, will update when we check out tomorrow.

If you want to be a minute away from the centre of action in Istanbul, but still have a quiet night, this is the hotel for you. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with excellent showers and wi-fi. We were fortunate that our second room was upgraded and adjacent to our large terrace room. The terrace and view was a lovely bonus and I would definitely recommend. The reception team are brilliant, and always on hand to offer help, advice and tips. Their restaurant recommendations really hit the spot so worth asking them where to go. We had some minor shower and A/C issues and both were fixed promptly. All in all, a great experience.

Since my trip to Turkey was light, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I came with a price of about 80,000 won. There is air conditioning inside, and especially there is a rooftop such as that sofa on the roof, so I made a reservation. It is located in the middle of the city, so it is very convenient to get around the city. The view from the rooftop is great, and it's not a view looking down, so if you want to see the whole view looking down, you can walk to Sunsat Point for 10 minutes. The accommodation is clean, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff are all friendly.
