Hotel near Central,Hong Kong
The iconic Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is the epitome of contemporary luxury combined with Oriental heritage. Having delighted guests with award-winning services and impressive facilities for 60 years, it is a much-loved address for those seeking an exclusive sanctuary in the heart of the city. The hotel’s spacious rooms and suites offer magnificent views of the renowned Victoria Harbour and the city’s skyline. A collection of nine outstanding restaurants and bars, including two that hold Michelin Star status, a luxurious club lounge, a Shanghainese-inspired holistic spa, an indoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, make Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong the quintessential “home away from home” for discerning leisure and business travellers alike.Special arrangement can be made for special stay (e.g. birthday, anniversary). Please contact hotel for details in advance.

"This was my first stay at a Mandarin Oriental, and I chose their historic birthplace. The hotel's location is excellent, right outside Central Station. Just find Harry Winston, and you've found the Mandarin Oriental. The standard rooms are already luxurious and elegant. Outside the window is Chater Road, bustling with luxury boutiques. The warm yellow reflections off the wooden furniture made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of the last century – a beautiful reflection of economic prosperity, yet never loud or ostentatious. Even with evening turndown service, a good hotel is incredibly thoughtful. They prepared bookmarks, bedtime tea, and essential oils, and all amenities were replenished. The room also came with small items branded with the Mandarin Oriental HK logo, such as leather coasters, cable organizers, luggage stickers, and lens cleaning cloths. I asked the front desk, and they confirmed I could take them all (currently, Mandarin Oriental doesn't offer small-sized toiletries, only a small body lotion, which I loved the scent of, so I requested extra). The hotel's 'hidden drawer' is very practical. You just write your request on a piece of paper, place it in the tray in the drawer, and ring the bell. Whether it's for laundry or amenity replenishment, you don't even need to make a phone call – perfect for introverts! Every detail of my stay here was meticulously taken care of. Despite being on a busy street, the soundproofing was excellent, and the temperature and humidity were maintained at a very comfortable level, allowing me to get refreshing sleep during a busy trip. The breakfast selection is quite rich, with semi-buffet and full-buffet options available at different restaurants. For tourists, I'd recommend the full buffet as it offers a wider variety of dishes, including both hot and cold options, and you can also order à la carte desserts like pancakes. Before leaving, I bought some rose jam and a fan, officially becoming a fan of MO."

Recreational facilities include a fitness room, the Regal Club lounge and reading room, a nightclub, spa and sauna and beauty salon.

"The hotel room is huge, AC is cold, no noises at night. The downside is that it’s a little far from TST and MTR (around 7-10 mins walk) but you can use shortcut through the park to TST. The staffs are very nice, they do room cleaning and give you new towels every day (we travel in 3 people and end up having 8 towels on check out day). The concierge is very helpful, we forget the luggage scale and we can borrow from them as well. Though the hotel is a bit too old and dated, you can see some tiny mold at the corner of bathroom, the carpet has lots of dust which isn’t good for people with allergies, and the elevators are too slow even though they have 2 sides of them but you’d wait forever during peak time. Overall 8/10 for me."

The warm tones are complemented by refined Asian-inspired decor with floor-to-ceiling windows offering captivating views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s iconic skyline. The hotel’s award-winning restaurants flawlessly characterise Hong Kong’s culinary melting pot with eclectic cuisine from classic Italian to exquisite Cantonese delicacies.“Guestrooms are for accommodation purpose only (except designated room packages). The hotel reserves the right to cancel bookings for non-accommodation purposes, including wedding parties and events.”

"I initially thought that after so many years of renovation, the carpets might have an odor. However, after a long comparison, I decided that location was paramount. Other reviewers had mentioned no issues with smell, so I chose Kowloon Shangri-La. I ended up being incredibly satisfied! The decor is grand and luxurious. The staff are enthusiastic and remember guest preferences. (I was among the first employees at Shangri-La Qingdao in '97. I remember during training, we were taught to always remember every guest's preferences. It's great to see that Shangri-La's global standards haven't changed over the years.) They made sure guests felt completely comfortable. The Horizon Club's breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner offer incredible value for money, and the service is excellent. My husband and kids both said this was an excellent hotel choice. It's also convenient for shopping, and they even gave my child a gift! 💝"

"Great location, convenient for getting anywhere, with plenty of dining and shopping options. I booked a deluxe sea view room, and the service was excellent. Upon check-in, a deposit was required, which is standard for most hotels I've stayed at, so I thought nothing of it. However, the front desk still patiently explained the reason. I hadn't used my credit card in a while and entered the wrong PIN, but the handsome guy at the front desk waived the deposit for me on the spot – so thoughtful! Before checking in, I was worried the room facilities might be too old and uncomfortable. But the room I was assigned that day was perfectly fine, and the view was beautiful. The only downside was that the guests next door were probably having too much fun that night. From around 10 PM until I moved rooms at 3 AM, it was very lively and noisy, with loud shouting making it impossible to sleep. I called the hotel twice, and they reminded them twice, but it didn't help. At 3 AM, I was directly moved to a higher floor room to sleep (their handling of the issue was very prompt and flexible, which I commend). When checking out the next day, the manager actually came over to apologize for the noise from the next room last night. This truly deserves a positive review! It successfully made me decide to extend my stay for another night, haha. The only slight hiccup was that when I wanted to extend, the front desk staff told me to check online platforms for availability because they had no rooms at the front desk. So I booked the room for the second night through a platform. Perhaps because it was the weekend, the same room type was 500 more expensive, but I extended anyway, thanks to the manager's enthusiastic service, haha. When I came back in the afternoon after running errands to check in, I found that the hotel had upgraded my room! It was so heartwarming and successfully kept me there, hahaha. Next time I'm here, I'll definitely stay again..."

Perfect for those working on the move, this hotel caters to a large number of business guests.

"Great location, Wan Chai station entrance is just a short walk across the street and there’s bus stop in front of hotel. To go to airport, you need to go to another bus stop which is also a short walk from the hotel and most importantly, mostly flat so no worries about walking with your large luggage on slope. Even though my room was located on low floor and right in front of the lift, it’s not noisy. Bed are comfortable but pillows are too flat/low, needed 2 pillows. Toiletries was not provided due to HK government policy to reduce carbon footprint and the staff does inform during the check in process so make sure to bring your own toothbrush toothpaste vanity kit shavers and shower cap. No bottle water provided but there are water dispenser on 19th floor for guests to fill your own water bottle. Mini fridge and kettle are provided. Generally pleasant stay with lots of good food nearby."

"The location of the hotel was excellent, with direct mall access to the mall and MTR. The rooms were fresh feeling and large bathrooms. Bed was soft and amazing. Mountain view with partial harbour view was OK, but not worth paying extra for. The check-in service was very manual and slow. Given this was the holiday period, but the process when engaged was very slow. We used the swimming pool which needs a refresh when compared to the Shangri-La next door. There are good gym and also dining options."
