Efteling Bosrijk

We first visited Efteling some years ago and stayed in the Efteling hotel. This time we had a lakeside house and it was wonderful too! Very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could want as well as our own sauna and whirlpool bath! There was sparkling wine waiting for us when we arrived and a birthday cake in the fridge which we had ordered in advance. The kitchen had a Nespresso coffee machine which was perfect for a morning coffee outside watching the birds and ducks. The house was very near to the reception, shop and restaurant as well as the swimming pool that was a lot of fun (especially the lazy river!) The walk to the park was easy too and you get to go in early through your own gate. All very well organised, comfortable and made my daughter’s birthday special.

4 nights at the Bosrijk hotel with husband , daughter 23 and son 17 . You get entrance to Efteling theme park with your room and breakfast. What can I say a magical experience. They leave night caps and a couple of little books in your room for you to take away ! Breakfast was buffet with cold meats , breads pastries and some hot selections . All tasty .Not many English people but Efteling is getting popular with the British as it’s a beautiful magical place . Staff lovely and will speak English when they realise you’re not Dutch ! Very nice people the Dutch . You can walk through the grounds to the theme park or take the little bus thing . We walked as it’s not far . The sandman come to the hotel to read stories to the kids . Great place for kids and adults too .

Stayed for a week at the Bosrijk in a luxe lodge complete with sauna. It was magnificent. The lodge had everything we needed, including packs containing tea, coffee, dishwashing supplies etc., and some bottles of fizz! There is a QR code to order in pizza/dinner and breakfast, unless you want to cook in your lodge. The small shop has some supplies, but it is limited. However, there is a supermarket a short walk from Efteling. The park itself was amazing. The kids loved it and the queues were never longer than 30 minutes. The majority of the time we were waiting 10-15 minutes, with some quick dashes round to the front of the ride as there was little/no queue. There was an abundance of food stalls and buildings, serving an array of food-stuffs, as well as plenty of toilets distributed throughout the park. Fortunately the weather was kinda for us, but even in wet weather there are an array of indoor rides - both for kids and adults. We made the most of our tickets, arriving around midday on the Monday and continuing until leaving around the same time on the Friday. The kids never tired of Efteling. We even went to see the Caro show one evening which was thoroughly entertaining. Staff throughout the park spoke many languages and 99.9% spoke English, which was useful for us, despite attempting to learn some basics before our trip. Staff were even helpful and located a missing bank card from one of our party, keeping hold safely until we were able to collect it. We'd probably have booked again for 2025, but sadly we can't book that far in advance. We travelled via Eurostar to Amsterdam before getting a train down to Den Bosch and a bus. The journey and travelling within the Netherlands was so simple (and cheap compared to the UK). Would definitely recommend.

Travelled by plane train and bus from the UK with my 10 year old niece. Couldn’t have visited a more magical place. The accommodation was beyond. Food was fairly priced, queues moved quickly, theme was magical, not an inch of space without something to see and impress. CARO was the most incredible experience, I loved it. Very talented cast. Couldn’t recommend a better place to bond and enjoy.

- 2* accommodation 5* prices - multiple ride closures for entire length of stay (3 days), not disclosed before booking - disingenuously advertised 'earlier entry to park and rides' for staying guests - not true, all tickets are allowed entry at 9:30am

Bosrijk is a really nice resort, where you feel like being in a fairytale. The park was empty which is great with small children, but a lot of attraction were not working and there was a lot of construction going on which is not hidden, which takes away the magic a bit. Our biggest problem was the dinner at the bosrijk hotel restaurant, where we were asked during reservation if there was some intolerance to which we answered gluten for myself. We ordered our food, and there was no symbol or anything, and the waitress did not ask anything although she should have seen my intolerance. Result was that I immediately turned bright red and started scratching my whole body and spent the whole night in the bathroom. Not great during a family time. The manager came to apologize and check on us later that night, gave us two plates for the children to take home and said he would deduct the dish from the total amount (14 euros). I think that was quite a small gesture for the mistake that was made which led to a lot of unwanted moments…… There was also no bathroom amenities. Breakfast was nice and very good quality with gluten free options as well. Without the gluten incident it would have been a great experience.

Amazing place for young and old, very relaxed atmosphere, short queues. Wouldn’t recommend Caro show for young kids but otherwise we enjoyed everything else. 2 days was a good amount of time to do the rides we wanted a couple of times over! Very clean.

Beautiful holiday village set in the efteling grounds. There are 2 hotels and plenty of self catering houses. It's set in a beautiful woodland setting, with plenty of play grounds and a lovely lake set in the centre, with the sandmans castle in the middle. Poorhuys is opposite the swimming pool and a stone throw from the car park.

As with everything Efteling related everything was amazing, cleanliness, attention to detail, service. The only two things that would make it so much better for us would be adding an indication of what's vegan in the breakfast buffet and also not putting the cups and other sharp things at perfect toddler height in the room.
