Really weird reservation system...exactly the same experience as the other person's complaint from 2019. Sent 2 emails one directly and the other through their resv system. Finally got an email saying they will be in touch and then several weeks later, today, I received an email stating my reservation has been declined. I already had my doubts and booked a different location for our 5 night stay for October 2024. Strange and off putting way to do business.

Wonderful stay at Ricky's. He is a complete joy and fabulous chef. His breakfasts were amazing, and we loved talking to, and learning from, him in the morning about Hawaii. Our suite was huge -- the photos don't do it justice-- really more like a very large studio apartment -- living area, sleeping area, very large bathroom with both large tub and large walk-in shower. Large closet. Second sink in living area w/refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Windows everywhere w/views to his garden/farm and out to the ocean. Private lanai (terrace) with view over his property to the ocean. Very private, very clean, quite modern. No need for A/C-- it can get chilly at night! Only item of note: arrive at first in daylight so you are aware of how to navigate the road down to the BnB --

My wife and I stayed 6 nights at Hale Hualalai on our honeymoon, and we had such an amazing time. The farm, about 15 minutes and 1000 feet above Kailua-Kona, is set in a quiet part of the Kona countryside. This location boasts cooler weather than the coast (70s) and coffee farms right down the street. The farm itself is secluded and full of fruit trees, chickens, and other animals. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the farm and coastline. A highlight for us was the farm breakfasts with Ricky, which were the perfect way to start each day. Each breakfast was served on the shared balcony overlooking the farm, and started with Kona coffee and freshly picked citrus fruits from the farm. Ricky would then bring out a delicious main course such as banana pancakes with mac nuts and mango jelly with scrambled eggs. We usually had cute little geckos crawling around us while we ate. Every breakfast was fantastic, and Ricky provided tons of recommendations for what to do around the area. I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay and explore the Kailua-Kona area!

The room was wonderful with a beautiful view. The Ricky and Irina were very helpful and attentive. The location is quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Out first morning we had French toast made with taro and homemade mango chutney. With fresh fruit from their farm. Also coffee from their own coffee bean plants and fresh mango juice from their farm.

Great view, quiet, comfortable BNB. Enjoyed the farm atmosphere and breakfasts with the hosts. Kitchen could use addition of silver ware and plates -- but not a big issue. Very comfortable furnishings. Would return for longer.

We stayed at Hale Hualalai for 5 nights during our first visit to the Big Island and loved it! Ricky and Irina and their family are wonderful hosts and provide a welcoming environment from the comfortable furnished suites to the amazing breakfasts created from the produce and animals raised on their family farm. It was such a treat to wake up in the morning and have tea or coffee out on our private lanai and be able to watch and hear the farm come alive, view the bay off in the distance down the hill and plan our day of touring around. The location near Kailua Kona was so convenient for day trips around the island. We highly recommend a stay at Hale Hualalai! Mahalo Ricky and Irina, we truly enjoyed our stay with you🌺🦎🐓🥑🥭

If you are ever visiting the Big Island you MUST stay at this B and B. Besides have a fantastic, freshly cooked breakfast you will enjoy learning about Hawaii, its culture, and the people who live in Hawaii. from the hosts. The hosts are so information, so welcoming, and they go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. The farm is beyond description.....so much fun to see the chickens, goats, the cow, and all the fruit trees. See the "real" Hawaii, and stay at this B and B. If I could give more than 5 starts I would!

This was the best place we stayed during our Big Island trip, and I wish we had booked more than two nights here! The property is incredible, with amazing views of the farm and all the way down to the ocean, as well as in a convenient location for quick access to all of the Kona attractions. The room itself is large, clean, private, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved spending time on the private lanai watching the farm animals. The owners are so kind and hospitable, and the breakfast simply cannot be beat. The farm-grown and roasted coffee they serve is the best I had on the island. The owners took time to chat with us and give helpful recommendations for activities and dining options. 100% would recommend and can't wait to visit again.

We had our doubts as we were driving up into the hills, but we fell in love with this B&B as soon as we stepped inside. The rooms are beautiful and huge! My husband used the jacuzzi tub to ease his aching back. The private balcony has a view of the working farm and the ocean. There was a separate charge for breakfast, but it was worth it. It is a really special place.
