Very good hotel in a very quite area 8 km outside of Kandy. A place to relax, well kept garden, very clean pool and good restaurant. You feel at home immediately. The staff is very friendly, high quality rooms and very clean also. I had a very relaxing stay at this place and can recommend it to everyone

We recently stayed at Mountbatten in Kandy, which is situated in a calm and quite surrounding and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We selected a beautiful wooden chalet and it was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The view from my window was stunning, adding to the overall ambiance. Dining had a good selection of fresh, delicious options, and the dinner menu was equally impressive. We highly recommend Hotel Mountbatten for anyone who likes to stay in calm and green atmosphere. The combination of excellent service, luxurious accommodations, and prime location made our stay memorable. We look forward to returning on our next visit too.

We spent a couple of days at the Mountbatten Bungalow which is nestled in a tranquil environment. The property is well-maintained and luxurious giving the perfect hideaway to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The staff is very attentive and keen to make our stay unforgettable. The food is very flavorful and neatly presented. So are the garden chalets we spent the nights at which provided ample relaxation. I would highly recommend staying with Mountbatten Bungalow to recharge your batteries.

Having been spoilt in my previous two stays, the Mountbatten Bungalow felt a little worn. Whilst we appreciated the history and location, in my opinion the rooms felt tired and in need of some love; our fridge didn't work and the taps weren't entirely fixed to their basins. The room proportions were bizarre - the bathroom was massive and much bigger than the bedroom - but there was no shelves or storage space in the bathroom to put any basic toiletries The staff were friendly but a little neglectful of our preferences (given it was the off season and they were not even at quarter capacity) - we only stayed two nights and we would have struggled to stay any additional nights, we constantly needed to remind the staff that we were vegetarian after being presented a set menu which offered no vegetarian options. The location with the infinity pool are the best features, the food was average in comparison to what we had received elsewhere.

Nestled in the bottom of the Hanthana Mountain range, the Mountbatten bungalow is a colonial-style property with lovely chalets. Surrounded by greenery and wildlife the property is a great place for relaxation. Mr. Raj (Villa Manager) and his team are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were served in the main building dining hall, but the food was mixed. Nicely maintained garden. Sadly, we had to cut short the trip due to a family emergency but will surely visit the property again.

Feeling and enjoying the colonial time in Kandy on a top location. Overviewing the deep valley and experiencing the peacefullnes of being on an island. Then being served by one of the best hosts of Kandy, Mr Chulan, is an absolute nice experience. And you will feel how royalties were once treated.

Chulan and his team are so warm-hearted and courteous. The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet landscape in the mountains of Kandy. You are woken up with the chirping of birds. The traditional Sri Lankan food was excellent. We felt very comfortable.

A perfect place to relax yourself with stunning views in hill country . Hospitality , cleanliness and service were excellent . Staff was friendly and attentive including the manager himself . Won't forget the service given by our butler Jayaweera. Food was delicious and perfectly served. Enjoyed a nice breakfast in the garden while listening to chirping of birds.. Had a wonderful time with my family ...

Serene place! Came with a couple of friends and we wished we could stay longer. We stayed in a couple of chalets which were spacious, great view and very comfortable beds. Staff were very accommodating and Raj the manager of the property made sure were well taken care of, he was gracious enough to spend some time to explain the history of the hotel adding richness to our experience. Definitely recommend and will surely be back next time in Kandy :)

This lodge in the hills above Kandy, is a very stylish english upper-class facility with very helpful staff, good food and very nice rooms. There is also a swimmingpool, but the highlight is the 'english breakfast' on the lawn outside the main building.

We went their to celebrate wife's birthday and the staff made it happen by their delightful extra mile service, my special thanks to the manager Raj who took a great care of us from the time of arrival. They made us to feel like home. Food is excellent and they were ready to accept our special concerns all the time. Room is clean and awesome. Staff is always attentive and ready to serve at any time without any hesitations. Overall mount batten is a calm and pleasant environment for a wonderful stay.

It’s a beautiful old style bungalow with rooms within but the rooms on stilts built in the forest area surrounding the bungalow are the best ! They are very modern and yet give you a full nature feel ! You can walk around on a few trails . There’s a monastery nearby and the cleanliness level of the whole environment is so striking ! The staff are super friendly and high energy , ready to assist you and make your holiday super special ! We could hear the sound of the huge Albasia branches brushing against each other and saw them too . The flora is so colourful . The breakfast and dinners were good too and it’s so comfortable, you can request them for what you want !

Very welcoming. Colonial style accommodation, relaxed atmosphere, pool has amazing views. Chulan attentive, friendly, nothing a problem & always a smile. Sumith demonstrated his cooking skills - all team great. Food so tasty/colourful. Quiet stopover with spectacular views.

One night stay as part of a private island tour. Bungalow is a slice of a bygone era. Admiral Lord Mountbatten stayed here and you can read all about it in a book in the lobby. Perched above Kandy it is remote so you won’t be walking out for souvenirs etc. Beautiful peaceful grounds with an infinity pool to laze by. Service is personal and attentive. The main bungalow has a few rooms and there are 6 chalets. We had a chalet (if not new then very recent) and it was fitted to a very high standard with a terrace for sitting out and enjoying the clean air away from the heat and humidity elsewhere. Breakfast and dinner were served in the dining room which was quiet and a little austere. Food was tasty and wholesome. Wish we could have stayed another night to enjoy it more.

What a beautiful, peaceful paradise! Lovely views, amazing food, huge spacious clean rooms with epic bathrooms, stunning garden, infinity pool overlooking the valley... and the staff were super attentive and couldn't do enough. I'll be back for sure! Special thanks to Chulan, Senior Buttler, so helpful & lovely. As I was travelling solo, he offered to set up dinner for me on my own down on the pool deck with a view instead of in the main dining room, which was so peaceful and lovely! As a non Sri Lankan trying all the tasty local cuisine, I recommend the curd & treacle dessert was super creamy, and I had mutton curry for breakfast - so good that I asked the chef for the recipe and he happily wrote it out for me. =) Thanks!
