Stopped here on a tour to chichen itza pyramids, I was on a official tour, supposedly? , I bought a gift in the venue gift shop and was charged twice after they told me the contacless transaction I had made was declined and the machine had frozen so couldn't print decline notification, they bought another contacless machine and the transaction went through, unfortunately for me so did the first transaction same amount £110 twice one minute apart, my bank are investigating so hopefully will get one £110 back. As earlier reviewer has said this gift shop is a scam and the hotel is obviously part of this, if you visit this place please pay with cash and make sure you read the receipt, a fool and his money are easily parted and I am that fool sadly, dont get duped.

I went to the souvenir shop Real Mayab and was terribly scammed. I went on February 7th with the Amigo Tours and I purchased a Chichen Itza small souvenir and 7 bags of small chips. The total was supposed to be $34.83 Canadian. I went to the cash to pay and used my bmo credit card, she said it was declined so I tried a different card, again declined so she told me to go to a different machine to which a man helped me. He said it was approved and I went back to my tour bus. I just found out the first charge was $348.39 Canadian, the second charge on the other card was $34.75 Canadian and the third charge on the original card was $34.83 Canadian. I was charged 3 times for just some bags of chips and a small souvenir a total of $417.97 Canadian dollars. All charges went through and are showing on my credit card statements. I tried to call the store and it says the number is not in service or it’s busy
