Highland Getaway

Stopped over before heading on to Fort William during the West Highland Way. Hotel staff were very welcoming and quickly got us settled in, even reserved us a table for the evening meal as spaces were going fast. Hotel food was typical pub type comfort food and tasty. Breakfast was great and one not to be missed. Twin room was spacious enough but a bit dated in decor. Staff at this hotel could not be better.

During our 5 day trip hiking the West Highland Way, this was where we received the best service. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Nothing was too much to ask. Food was very good day. Rooms comfortable. Beautiful views from the restaurant balcony Perfect location for a WHW stopover in Kinlochleven.

We arrived soaking wet after a day walking through WHW and were greeted with the warmest of welcomes in the hotel bar where they were serving hot drinks and cake to wet walkers like ourselves. We were staying the night and our room was superb, beautifully decorated and everything we could possibly need was provided. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant in the evening and an equally good breakfast the next day. All the staff without exception were friendly, helpful and worked efficiently as a team to make this, in my view, one of the very best places to stay.

Having just completed the 21.5 mile walk from Bridge of Orchy, we received the warmest welcome from Steve who carried our luggage to our clean, quiet and comfortable room with a view of the river, located just round the corner from the pub. Fantastic shower and generous towels. We slept like logs.The Getaway achieves that rare feat of providing a gathering place for locals and making travellers feel instantly at home. Dinner (chef’s homemade lasagne) was hearty and delicious as was the full Scottish breakfast cooked to order and served promptly by the bubbly Michelle. Our packed lunches were the best we had on the West Highland Way - no stinting on the cheese in our sandwiches! We enjoyed all accommodation on the Way, but the Highland Getaway was our favourite, setting us up perfectly for the final day

Perfect B &B at end of day hiking the West Highland Way. Just off the trail, on a primary road, but very quiet (think all of Kinlochleven is quiet). Very solicitous service from nice folks. The rooms are right next door to the pub and restaurant, which both provide great service and fine food. Nice little seating area outside to rest after a day of hiking. Would definitely go back if in the area.

The warmest welcome, spotlessly clean room and the best breakfast on the West Highland Way. The balcony bar was a jaw dropper. The staff at this accommodation could not do enough for two weary travellers.

Had a lovely stay here as part of our West Highland Way trip. We had a garden room which had an amazing view of the surrounding mountains and a place to eat as the sun set. The room was comfortable and quiet. The best part was the hospitality of the staff who couldn't have done enough to make your stay welcoming and comfortable. Best breakfast we had on our travels too.

We had an excellent stay for one night at the Highland Getaway for our wedding anniversary. A welcoming rest after completing part of the WHW. The food was delicious and the staff were more than accomodating for us.

This hotel was amazing. Really can't say enough enough about it. Very modern, bright, and exceptionally clean room. The shower, oh my god, what a shower! We'd go back just for that! ☺️ . Also, a nice wee touch on the tea/coffee tray were wine glasses and a corkscrew, not that we needed them but felt it was very thoughtful. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was fantastic and cooked to perfection. We didn't have an evening meal in the bar, but the food brought out for other diners looked lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you're thinking about staying in this area. We certainly will be back.
