Stayed for 2 nights with many many issues. Broken curtains, but thankfully new shutters. Vibrating pipes when anyone used a toilet in the building. Socket hanging off the wall behind tv. Sagging bed. One mug in cupboard. Lots of messages everywhere, don’t use makeup, turn off towel rail, WiFi password written on back of door, etc…… Damp smell in hallway and very untidy. Location is good, with free on street parking. Extremely overpriced.

We thought this was a perfect place for us. Lucky to find parking right at the bottom of the steps. Unexpected roominess and appreciated the extra design elements. Think fridge behind cabinet doors and comfy living area. Hot shower and clean space. Steps to our restaurant and to the lovely downtown. I would stay there again.

The room is very large. But there is only 1 chair to sit on and loads of room for a small table and some chairs. The floors are very creeky and you can hear all the neighbouring rooms. This place has great potential in an amazing location, but needs a tidy up. Parking was ok but would be a nightmare in peak season. I learnt after staying that there is a kitchen onsite. It would have been nice to know this before hand. There is no common area to sit and read a book or mingle with other guests. The heaters were not on during the first night and it was freezing. You are basicslly staying in a hostel without any ability to socialise.

The amount of stairs to get to the front door made it difficult to get luggage up and down . The room was nice We had issues with WiFi password could not read the handwritten password on paper in hallway . Never got sorted out . But location was perfect o walk to restaurants and shops .

Had a lovely stay here, the room was clean,warm and comfortable,. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice of cereal, fruits cheese and yogurt and a choice of cooked breakfast dishes. Maeve was a wonderful hostess and made sure we had everything we needed! We will be back!

I had a wonderful experience at Blindgate House Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist me during my stay. The included breakfast was delightful and made for a great start to my day. The room was not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, as was the bathroom. Overall, I highly recommend this small but very well run hotel for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Short walk into town which is great as there is free onsite parking. The rooms were of a good size and the temperature in them was good. Nice comfy beds and bed linen. Breakfast was fantastic except the room is too small to accommodate everyone at one time if the weather is not good and you can’t go outside so if you don’t get there first you may get a later breakfast slot, so pre tell them in advance. The only other small issue was the noise of the water in the pipes. Which meant they screamed when anyone used the water or toilet in other rooms, not so good if you’re a lighter sleeper and someone in another room uses the bathroom in the night.

From the first moment we entered the small lobby, Maeve was the perfect host. Even though they were fully booked she offered us a choice of rooms so we wouldn't have to climb the stairs with our bags. We elected to take a second-floor room that was quiet and serene. The rooms are basic, more motel-like than B&B but clean and serviceable. The breakfast is delicious and served in a lovely room by caring staff with Maeve, who must never sleep, making sure that everyone has whatever they need. As commented before, there is a 10-minute walk downhill to town and uphill coming back. The town is small and quaint and there's a great free walking tour two times a day. Max's and Finn's Farmcut were both special restaurants where we had delicious meals.

Simply - beautiful! Maeve is a great host, and really communicative (replies to emails within a few hours). Rooms were more like a boutique hotel than a B&B. Staff were really friendly, and there's ample car parking (which is a real plus in Kinsale!) It's about a 5-10 minute walk down to the village (be midful that it's uphill all the way back!). Kinsale is a really pretty fishing village, with lots of bars, restaurants and shops, and it can get quite busy at peak times. As Maeve suggested, book ahead of your trip if you're hoping to get a restaurant/table booking. Definitely a place I'll hopefully return to, one day.
