Checked in for a one night stay at Spring Grove Tavern B&B. Matthew was an excellent host, very friendly. Room was fantastic, clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. All in all great value for money. Help our struggling B and B's by booking a night(s) away.

Stayed there for short break with wife last week for 3 nights. Matt the owner was very gud and trust worthy the room was very comfortable and clean although no restaurant there was one or two within walking distance .if you wanted a drink you helped yourself if Matt was not there and wrote it down very trustworthy.would stay again if in the area. For what the rooms cost fantastic value the only downside was car parking not matt's fault just down to on going road works.thanks Matt for a great stay

Stayed here for 2 nights and so glad to have found this place. Set just on the main road but surrounded by stunning countryside and and amazing little village with everything you could want. Matt the owner very nice guy and made us feel welcome from the start. We stayed in a triple room with en-suite. The room faced the main road but no noise issues at all. It was spotless and the beds supper comfy. We didn’t have breakfast as not a breakfast person but there was lots on the menu if you wanted some. Will stay again for sure.

Spring Grove Tavern is an exceptional little B&B, the owner Matt is probably one of the most helpful proprietors we have ever come across, nothing was too much trouble! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bar is well stocked and there is a very happy atmosphere here too! The breakfast was just amazing, not just your normal cheap produce but proper well cooked fare that really got our day off to a great start. Would we stay there again? Definitely YES!!! Well done Matt you are a credit to the B&B industry, we will return next time we visit our friends in Huddersfield.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, Matthew was a fabulous host and helped us with everything we needed. Our room was the double with a view and what a lovely view it was. Bright spacious very funky rooms. Honesty br downstairs which we unfortunately didn't get chance to use but the idea is just wonderful. Pool table and dart board for entertainment which was great fun. Breakfast was cooked by Matthew and was absolutely delicious with lovely fresh ingredients. Will definitely visit here again!!

The basics: we had the twin room for two nights and it was everything you could want - clean, warm, the beds were really comfortable, tea\coffee making facilities and a little fridge for keeping milk cool (which very nicely had some bottled water in when we arrived), TV, bedside lights and a private bathroom. The things that made this B&B stand out: Matthew was a brilliant host, very warm and welcoming, easy to talk to and nothing was too much bother for him. We booked directly with the B&B by telephone, but you can also send a message from their website. The breakfast, was delicious (we had the full English) but there was a full menu to choose from. There is a free pool table and dart board for guests to use, and an honesty bar to boot. Brilliant!! There is off street parking to the front of the B&B and while we did not need it, i believe there is more parking round the back. The B&B is 4 and a bit miles outside of Huddersfield and the taxi fares were £9 before midnight, they may charge more afterwards. There are also regular buses along *****tone Road into Huddersfield and they run quite late into the night. Overall, we were very, very happy to have found this B&B (i originally wanted to find a place in Huddersfield) and cannot recommend it highly enough. If i ever need to stay in the area again, I will be coming back.

We spent a night here when attending the Green Day gig at the John Smiths Stadium in Huddersfield. Located around 4 miles from Huddersfield, and a short distance from Kirkburton village (which we didn't have time to visit!), we received a fantastic welcome on arrival from the owner Matthew. My wife and I had an ensuite double which was well equiped with fridge, TV, tea and coffee facilities etc. Perfectly clean and comfortable. The tavern has a bar, operating on an 'honesty' basis (make a note of your drinks in the notepad on the bar and settle up later) which we used to have a settling in drink before getting a taxi into Huddersfield. We will certainly revisit, it was a great find.
