I have been using star island for years NEVER have I been so disappointed as I was this time. Carpet was dirty hair in the bathrooms even blood on one of the bathroom floor! Open up a cabinet door in the kitchen to get a cup and roaches! Who wants to take them home with them after a vacation. The room smelled moldy and smokey like someone had previously smoked in it.

Only complaint is that we were put in a ground floor unit next to the elevator. The elevator is extremely loud and people coming in between the hours of 12am-3am screaming and shouting waiting on the elevator right outside of the window of the room.

Parking was a problem at times, a few more pkgs of coffee would have been helpful. We had to leave the property to purchase a morning cup of coffee. And a few extra blankets would have been nice!

Front desk staff was amazing, although answering the phone not to well. Cleaning staff does not speak a single word of English so this is extremely challenging. Food options aren't bad but could have so more inclusive options.
Spa has a segregated service so you can be totally comfortable without others seeing you. Staff at the spa were good.

The property looked amazing. The actual rooms were dirty. They provided of each towels, wash cloths and hand towels. Our stay was 3 nights. If you wanted more linens, you had to pay $7 more each day. So the first night was the only night they were included. Should have been included for beach night stay. The air conditioning didn’t work. It felt like you were in an indoor pool area. So humid in the rooms. Housekeeping was very rude. I wouldn’t recommend this property or stay again.

When we arrived we had to sweep the floor for all the dirt. We asked for our floors to be mopped, took them 2 days to come. The toilet over flowed onto the floor day 4 and it took them over an hour and 4 phone calls to come clean it. The stove had 2 burners not working. The sheets on the bed were dirty. No hand soap or toilet paper, had to ask several times. The property itself is nice, watch out for raccoons, everywhere!

The resort is nice. The petit family suite is a little dated. It could be better. The place was clean. But the check in was terrific. I know it was the day before New Years Eve, but we waited more than 3 hours for the room. I also requested ahead on time, for a suite on ground floor or with an elevator available and they ended gave us a second floor room with stairs and no elevator.
