Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa

Lamai Beach Koh Samui|2.48km from Thong Takhian Beach (Silver Beach)
My recent three-night stay at the Renaissance Koh Samui was an enchanting journey, filled with an exceptional level of service that beautifully compensated for the hotel's aging facilities. From the outset, the resort's fusion of Asian and Thai architectural elegance warmly welcomed us, accentuated by the delicate blend of styles and the presence of wood-clad interior columns, real wood floors and furniture. This seamless integration of tradition and geographical context, with brick and tropical roof tiles, created a captivating atmosphere. The lush foliage and well-grown trees embraced the surroundings, creating a vivid backdrop that captured the essence of the beachfront location. While time had etched its marks on the facility, the fusion of architectural styles and natural elements into the design remained a captivating feature. Our overall experience was outstanding, even as we encountered a few unforeseen challenges. On our second night, our beachfront BBQ plans were thwarted by the weather. The staff's quick thinking and adaptability came to the forefront as they seamlessly transitioned the venue to an indoor space. The speed and willingness with which the entire BBQ setup was moved indoors showcased the dedication to providing the best service possible. Moreover, on our third night, the pool bar staff went above and beyond by suggesting a private beachfront dinner to make up for the previous night's interruption. Though this well-intentioned plan was again impacted by the weather, their commitment to ensuring our satisfaction remained unwavering. What truly set this experience apart was the unwavering dedication of the staff. Their warmth and attentiveness overshadowed any inconveniences we faced. The restaurant and bar team, led by K. Woody, Honey, and Ken, consistently exceeded our expectations. Their personalized service made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The culinary journey, particularly the breakfast led by Executive Chef Chef Seng, was a delight. Despite the aging signs of the facilities, the culinary offerings maintained an impeccable standard. The coconut water coffee, and Samui Egg Benedict were exceptional, showcasing Chef Seng's expertise in curating a blend of local and international flavors. In summary, my stay at the Renaissance Koh Samui was a testament to the power of exceptional service to transcend the limitations of aging facilities. The resort's captivating fusion of architectural styles, the embracing of its environment, and the staff's dedication created a memorable retreat. The team's responsiveness, especially during weather-related interruptions, demonstrated their commitment to guest satisfaction. As I reflect on my stay, it is clear that the warmth of hospitality and the genuine care extended by the team are what truly define the Renaissance Koh Samui.

Lamai Beach Koh Samui|0.12km from Thong Takhian Beach (Silver Beach)
This is our second stay at this hotel and we chose this firstly due to the location. It is directly on the beach close to bars and restaurants. The pool has had an upgrade since last time we stayed and appears to have been newly tiled. The pool is nice but not too big and can get crowded when you get a few people using inflatables. There is no children's pool unfortunately but the pool is open from 6 am to 9 pm so you can find a quiet time. There are some beds available on the beach in front of the hotel but I noticed people were putting towels on them as they were under the trees which was not good. The grounds are lovely as you feel like you are nestled in a jungle and the rooms are private but a little dated and on the smaller side. Breakfast was the same each day consisting of scrambled egg, bacon, potatoes, yogurt, fruits, toast, cereals, croissants and a couple of Thai alternatives. The staff come round to ask if you want omelettes or fried eggs etc but sometimes neglect to bring the order. An egg station would possibly be better in the restaurant. Also there is good cheese and ham but this is not covered and there is a problem with flies particularly round the jam jars as the lids are off. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating and the menu is varied in the restaurant with meals/drinks available during the day. All rooms now have internet and you can watch Netflix etc and you are supplied with 4 bottles of water daily which is more than most hotels provide. Tea and coffee is available and a kettle in the room. Wi-Fi is good too. Maid service is excellent and I noticed the staff cleaning the beach too. This hotel is sometimes quite expensive on some of the sites but if you can get a good deal it is worth the money for what you get but don’t pay over the odds.

Exellent budget hotel near Lamai beach. About 4-5 min walk to beach (restaurant Bamboo - for exellent cheap food) and SIWA bar (for swimming and chill). Hotel is in a heart of Lamai, but very queit plane. Hotel is old but is awesome clean. Owners is extremly kind, helpfull and nice. Good size of the room. Good AC. Our room was with terrace. I highly recommend this hotel. Price is low, about 25 euro per night per two people (best location and beach on few minutes)

A good hotel for its cost. Everything is within reasonable, food, room background, beach, territory and purity. Choosing a hotel for 700-800 dollars is not worth expecting anything supernatural. The rooms are ordinary, painted, old furniture and plumbing, but everything is tolerable, again, what can be expected for the budget option? Just clean, the staff is trying to support the hotel with cleaning and a little repair. Food is decent, and varied and taste good, very enjoyed meat dishes, they have a minimum of local spices, good first dishes , was even borshch, surprised, delicious. The territory is not big but well green, pleasant to walk around it. The beach is not big but quite cozy, clean, cleaners walk all the time cleaning dishes and garbage. Incoming water of sand, sea transparent without a huge number of local seamen. Only a lot of ravens have been observed. Behind the hotel area you can also go for a walk, there are souvenir shops next to you, and a fish restaurant, quite good, I advise you to visit. The conclusion is one, a normal hotel, don't wait for my impressions from it, because you don't buy it for $2,000. Good rest 

The rooms inside are old-fashioned as if grandmother had a daddy. But - super location in a quiet alley and 2 minutes to the center. There is all necessary - a refrigerator, air conditioner, TV, a table where you can put a laptop, which is just super for this money. Hot water, shampoo, soap, all there is.

Really large comfy bed with fresh clean linen and two night lamps with switches by the bed. Tv with English speaking channels, aircon, fridge and safe. Nice hot shower, large wardrobe with hairdryer if you need it. Only small minor downside was no power sockets to charge by the bed. Couple of bottles of water provided daily by the cleaning team who were very lovely. Greeted at checkin, shown to my room and given lots of helpful tips and recommendations for the area. I found it a bit tricky to locate using Google maps but very simple once you know - follow the side road next to McDonald’s and follow it round past the coconut resort and yellow slide :)
