Booked based on previous reviews on how well this family apartments gives you that personal touch. You really are not just a room number! you are instantly made to feel like part of a family and nothing is too much trouble regardless of the request or enquiry. The pool area always has sunloungers, and is cleaned every night (closes at 8pm but not strict on this) Restaurant is open all day, with lots of choice (all day full English) again reasonably priced. Bar area (George's Bar) is perfect for evening drinks (and cheap). Rooms are huge (booked a family room) for 3 of us. Air con is €7 a day and is a must at night (29oC). Maids came most days and bedding changed and floors cleaned. The complex itself is well maintained, a small play area for kids, pool table and air hockey. Location wise it is the perfect Greek gateway. Yes it's 10 minutes to the Old Town, but don't let this put you off, nor the road leading to the town it's perfectly safe. If you prefer to get a taxi this can be arranged for €7 to the harbour. If you have Children and want days out, I'd recommend Lido water park (bus is €3.50pp) and a boat trip, we booked Odyssey 3 islands (highly recommended). Local transport network is really easy and efficient so go explore the beautiful island of Kos. Lastly thanks to Costa, Angelos, Christopher, Anna & Laura (sorry if I've missed anyone) for making our stay one to remember.

This review is best on a long weekend mini break so it literally is based on first impressions. Ok do if you want a clinical one in one out hotel this isn’t it, but on a good way. This is a family run apartments and would even say it felt like you was staying in they’re family home. Everything had a family/friend vibe to it even the pets come to say high for a fuss. Location perfect for Kos town if you don’t mind a nice stroll about 10 mins to the edge of town along a road no path but no traffic either, a few old ruins and walls along the way and a local dog who likes to hang over the wall and watch world go by (never did get it’s name) Turn left at edge of town for Kos old town turn right for new bit and harbour really is that simple. Local shop right on door step which locals use so they don’t rip tourist off. Rooms are basic but did the job, fridge (which is the coldest fridge I’ve ever seen also small freezer for ice cubes kettle, toaster and a 2 ring elecy hob. You would struggle to cook a meal in the room but it worked for breakfast and the odd sandwich. Bathroom clean and tidy and shower very powerful but this leads to a downside. The drainage can’t cope with amount of water from shower and cause it’s a wet room ends up flooding, I found getting flow just right do it drains but don’t flood. Air con nice and cold you do have to pay extra tho we paid €25. Pool area always kept clean so was the bar with nice cold beer on tap and any cocktail you can think of Steve can make. Again the family feel came across cause it’s pay for your drinks when ever you like. Food being served looked good however we never ate there cause spend most of our time in Kos town. To sum up this review if your looking for a nice apartment within walking distance to town and want to feel like part of the family it’s perfect, if your looking for s hotel brand where your just a room number then this isn’t the place.

We went to the Ampavris because of its reviews and boy are we glad we did.... We've found our paradise in Greece and here's why.....🌞 Where do we start. Fabulous welcome from my now mate Angelo who runs a great bar and got us checked in early hours🍻 Meticulously clean air conditioned rooms kept so by the happy to be there cleaners who always had a smile and even told me off when she caught me making my own bed😂 The complex is small and perfectly put together and just far out of Kos Town to be handy but in a place of its own with fabulous views of the nearby hills and neighbouring Turkey. A sneeky shortcut through the back gates gets you to the well stocked and friendly Blue Market which has everything. Now the important stuff......the family that run this place are just the best. Steevo and Costa work soo hard to make the apartments perfect, the grounds well manicured by the gardener, the pool bar/restaurant fun and well stocked, the food delicious, the pool, kids pool and spa clean and safe, no sunbed towel reservations as there's loads...... All in all we've found our perfect place and can't wait to get back😎🌞😎Mark and Caron

Family run apartments, laid back. Lovely swimming pool and sunbathing area. Set in pretty gardens. Nice bar for drinks and snacks or even meals. Sorry room bit disappointing, needed an updating glad we weren’t sleeping in room with the fridge. Take washing up things and tea towel, bottle opener. No tin opener. Wouldn’t want to cook anything. Nice to have kettle and fridge.Needed air con that was extra, and needed mending, it was fixed .Sorry hated shower 3/4 shower curtain.so bathroom floors got wet. It was bit like an old hostel. The place was kept very clean, the beds were ok had clean sheets quite often Luckily had a terrace which was nice for breakfast or in the evening, had patio set and clothes dryer for towels which was handy. Got used to it. Chickens used to walk along . Nice to see them. A week was enough for us. They had a Greek night didn’t go as it was our last night. I suppose you get what you pay for! On edge of town, 20min walk down a rough (under foot ) dusty road. Single file no paths. Up some cobbled steps then your in kos town, plenty of restaurants and tourist shops and club regions! a bus station to other places, nice places for coffee in old town. If you went to left beach, all the restaurants had own sun beds free if you brought their food and drink ! Which was reasonable. The beach near the harbour was man made. Pebbles, handy they had trees so you could get some shade.

We had a wonderful holiday. The apartments are lovely, clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the maid was lovely and told me off for making my beds whilst there, she told me your on holiday and it was her job to make the beds, lovely lady. The owners were wonderful, as we're all the rest of the staff, anything you need you just have to ask. Special thank you to Steve on the bar in the evening, really lovely genuine guy who enjoyed a good laugh with you. Only about a 15 minute walk into Kos town or taxis 7 Euro. Food and drink reasonably priced and good quality, they will order you drinks in if they don't stock what you like, they ordered some fruit ciders in for me. The shop next to the apartments, very well stocked and lovely lady. Only one negative, whilst there are plenty of sunbeds around the pool, I did find them rather uncomfortable, would be nice to have some padding on, however you can buy a cheap Lilo and place that on yourself, obviously this is my personal feeling, maybe just getting old, ha. Would definitely return and would highly recommend. 5 stars for the family and complex Melanie and Jimmy (Jimbo) xx Would definitely return and would highly recommend. Would definitely return and would highly recommend.

It has been a week since we returned from Ampavris and we are still missing the warmth and welcome that we received throughout our stay, from start to finish the hospitality we received made us feel part of this wonderful family. The appartment was spotless and comfortable with outside space to enjoy the ambience. There is an excellent swimming pool and a lovely bar/restaurant to enjoy great value food and ice cold beer. The entertainment (the famous Greek night) is amazing do not miss it. The lovely Angelo did a great job looking after us at the bar (thanks for the fun and laughter shared) We are in our 70's and hope we are spared to visit this wonderful family again. A great value for money experience. Thank you all for a brilliant holiday never to be forgotten. love from Jim and Jan Salmons.
