Excellent value for money. The rooms were clean, there was hot water in the bathroom, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel is well located between the tourist beaches. We recommend!

Location excellent staff not very friendly rooms very basic no hot water at all. Limited electricity for the 4 days I have been here so far often at night so can’t use the air conditioning or sockets to charge phones etc am looking to find a different hotel in the area for the next 10 days that we are here that has all the basic amenities like hot water and electricity

I love the island, weather and people outside . But unfortunately, the hostess were not nice to us. We did a long long flight, more than 18H, we were so exhausted, we arrived at 7am and we needed to sleep in the reception/ leisure area, because the bedrooms weren’t ready for us, we did a half pension , and we didn’t eat our breakfast, because we needed to wait until the check in time .. In the second day, we went late for the breakfast as we were so tired and because of a question of time, they didn’t serve the breakfast, only coffees, because I asked for , and they did it in a rudely way. Even the breakfast was about fruits, and a few things like eggs and bread ! So I think they could easily arranged that for us. I asked for a explanation about the excursions, and they didn’t even mention it, I needed to ask more than on time but then, I decided to do it, with local people who approached us on the beach, with good reviews on internet , who I highly recommend to! They didn’t clean our bedroom, nor even the floor or change the towels every day, we did ask for that, but the ladies didn’t do it. I don’t used to do this kinda of reviews, but this was out of our control. We really thought it would be different as we saw good reviews on internet. We also needed help with the transfer to airport and they are just told us to call to our agency . Unfortunately, this is only bad for them ! Because we loved the island, and the people we met there :) we didn’t let that stupefy our time there. And we hope you guys have a better stay than us ! Kind regards :)

Just by the Indian ocean! Where the crystal clear water meets the horizon of the breathtaking sunrise. The turquoise colour of the ocean brings a gorgeous smile and feeling. Please share my experience

When you turn off the main road and bump along the track you might wonder what you've let yourself in for, but at the end of that short track is a delightful little hideaway opening out onto the Indian Ocean with bungalows hidden amongst the trees and located around a central bar/restaurant and swimming pool. My first impression was that it is a little tired and would benefit from some refurbishment (there are signs that rooms are being ungraded) but the simple fact is that everything is there, everything is clean and tidy, everything works although hot water can be a bit hit or miss and really, when you're sitting on a sunbed, beer in hand, watching monkeys in the trees and dhows sailing by, how can you get upset by a plasterwork crack or wonky tap? The staff are all pretty wonderful: friendly, helpful, laid back but still efficient and the cooks do consistently prepare really good food, and then there are the hotel pets. There are currently 3 dogs and 2 cats. They are all friendly, all appreciate fuss and your company and none of them beg at tables. It may not be your thing and they wont pester you if you don't want them, but we really enjoyed having them there. Located about half-way between Paje and Jambiani means that there are plenty of bars and restaurants within beach-walking distance and having hired a car we found that it was a good base from which to strike out across the island. However, last but not least, this is somewhere that allows you to relax as much as you want to or be as adventurous as you dare to be. We loved it.

Really lovely staff and great food. Quiet part of the beach with no beach boys or Masai. The property could do with a refurbishment and clean up - there was broken furniture and old swabs lying around and we had holes in our mosquito net and curtain that had sticky tape over them. It was however a budget price and you get what you pay for. We appreciated the kind attention from the staff.

Absolutely loved it. Quite, idyllic, peaceful. Beautiful pool area and gardens that are immaculate, monkeys came down to see us one morning which was entertaining. Food good and that and drink very reasonably priced. Cooked to order so there may be a wait but it's fresh. All staff friendly and helpful. Rooms basic but authentic and kept clean. Hoping to go back in December 2024

I’m here now,Idyllic if you want peace & quiet lovely secluded areas to sit or lay out. Nice sized pool, good sized chalets, I chose one with air con, should have saved my money completely ineffective, cooler out in the breeze of the restaurant. No hairdryer available, what hotel now doesn’t offer the use of a hairdryer ? Asked for a glass of wine with my meal, despite advertising wine by the glass told I couldn’t have one as they only have it by the bottle. If there had been a fridge in the room I would have bought a bottle but who wants to drink warm wine. Really liked this place on first sight but now quite disappointed with the set up.

This hotel was one of my most enjoyable holidays in a long time. A beautiful tropical retreat for my little boy and me. First of all a HUGE thank you to Fasi/Punch the chefs and all the other guys in the restaurant for understanding my sons food allergies and making sure he had something safe to eat. They noted his allergies on day 1 and took it very seriously, I was very impressed with this and it allowed me to relax at mealtimes. Also the food is DELICIOUS you can preorder too. The pool is clean and warm, the rooms are typical Zanzibar style and clean, location is quiet but easy to get taxi/tuk tuk on main road. You can swim in the sea when the tide is right in. We felt very relaxed here for 2 weeks and at times like we had the place to ourselves. We cannot wait to return :)

A lovely small hotel with everything that I was looking for. Right on the beach with stunning views of the green/blue sea, good sized swimming pool, good sized bedroom with shower etc, never short of hot water, air-con and ceiling fan, excellent food, free bottled water every day, all in all very good value!

Wow! I have travelled around a bit, but for me this was a perfect place in an awe inspiring location. There are different levels of rooms, but I took a basic room. Located a few feet away from the most beautiful white sands, and azure sea. Yes it was basic but for me it added a sense of authenticity. The staff were very accomodating, always willing to help, friendly, and they were there to do their best to make your stay enjoyable. There are $100+ a night places up in Paje or Jambiani, hang out the with instagram crowds, but for me this was just perfect in a quietness and seclusion but not too far to take a stroll to the towns. I will never forget my time there and I am looking for ways I can come back as soon as possible. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel look elsewhere, but this place allows you to embrace being part of the authentic Zanzibar. Thanks to all the staff for making it a dream vacation. Asante!!!!

We came for honeymoon here for two weeks and we loved every minute of our stay! The beach bandas are so romantic, right on the beautiful beach. Lovely friendly staff, good food, drinks and great peaceful location! We went on lots of excursions from here too which were easy to book and organise with the staff. We hope we will be back one day! Highly recommend!

We (parents with two young adult children) stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the spacious garden setting and African style of this place and the sea views during breakfast/dining. Being situated between Jambiani and Paje this place is relatively quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere. The rooms/cottages were rather sober but clean, although sometimes the bed-clothes were not perfectly clean. The meals served were good and affordable. The central swimming-pool is a lovely. The lagoon in front of Mbuyuni is not very suitable for swimming, because of the sharp stones at the bottom. The beaches nearby, however, are fine, consisting of dazzling white coral sand. All in all, a good place to stay if you want to avoid the more crowded centres of Paje and Jambiani.

Just returned after our 3ed visit we love this peice of paradise ❤️ the staff are so friendly who come and have a chat usually with my hubby about football they will arrange trips and taxis.the manager Uhuru is a lovely fella.the food is fantastic gets better each time and very reasonable and very versatile even if you want something different to eat not on the menu.the drinks and cocktails ate very good. We used to get our room cleaned ever 2 days lovely lady always smiling The beach is rocky in front of the hotel but walk left or right and you can swim but you have a pool which is great. Your going to get insects it's africa it's not 5 star but the staff for us makes it 5 star we will be going back again in September
