I heard that it was a new Japanese-style hotel and it was very close to JR Kyoto Station. It was quite expensive, so I made a reservation. The entrance and lobby are very beautiful, and the room with tatami is estimated to be 15 square meters. The toilet and bathroom are separated from wet and dry areas and are on both sides of the corridor in the room, which is very suitable for two people to do their own thing. I just want to complain about a few points: 1. The English level of the front desk lady needs to be improved 2. There is not even a bottle of drinking water in the room 3. The large bath in B1 has two male baths and two female baths, and one requires payment. The water temperature in the reserved private soup was too high, so you could only soak your feet. It felt like your whole body would be half cooked when you got in. 3. The air conditioner in the room is on the ceiling and blows towards people. There is wind everywhere, and it is very stuffy when it is turned off. It's very noisy with the windows open, and there seems to be exhaust outside. Anyway, I didn't sleep well, and I was in a really bad mood. The next day I went to Kiyomizudera Temple. There were so many people and I got inexplicably angry all the way. It was so angry...

Beautiful Ryokan. If you wish to experience a nice Ryokan while exploring Kyoto you can not go wrong here. Beautiful rooms and facilities. Very quiet and quaint. 5 minute walk from Kyoto Station and plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from. Will come again when i come back to the area.

I loved the whole ryokan experience. Even before my stay the staff had responded to my email inquiries. The place was clean and nice. I would definitely stay there should I find myself in Osaka again.

Pros - wonderful staff, being welcomed with tea & biscuits was a cute way to start. Very clean, great rooms. A fantastic way to experience a ryokan if you haven't before.
Cons - futons are hard if you're not used to them and the pillows were small.

I loved my stay and Ryoken Ginkaku. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was friendly and extra attentive. They great you with a welcome tea, where you can sit by the small but beautiful tranquil garden. I was really surprised by how big and spacious our room was. Also, It was spotless!! I know that should be the standard, but this place just really felt like home. My husband and I didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend selecting the dinner and breakfast option with your room, so you can experience a delicious and tradition Japanese meal. The last thing is the public bath. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it out, but so glad I did. My body felt completely relaxed and I was able to unwind from a long travel day. If public baths aren’t your thing, they have private baths for an additional charge. Overall, I loved my stay and I absolutely loved the staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience during my time in Kyoto!

I took the room with the futon. It's good size to share up to a party of 3. Room was immaculate. Check-in is a bit later than most hotel.

Very close to Kyoto station! Staff helped us Gaijin to check in with our broken Japanese without issue. Beautiful modern Ryokan with wonderful rooms and beautifuly presented and wonderful tasting meals. Would love to go again some time soon!

We were a little early to drop off our luaggue, but the staff was still very friendly and helped us a lot.
