Grand Adirondack Hotel, Lake Placid, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
4.3/543 Reviews
Stayed two nights for business. Was upgraded based on Titanium Bonvoy membership to a Deluxe room overlooking the lake. The rooms are beautifully remodeled with nice furnishings, updated bathrooms and little amenities you’d expect from a higher end Marriott hotel. The staff at the valet, front desk, restaurant and, housekeeping were all very accommodating. While they are all still learning their jobs (only open 8 days during my stay), they were great. Only suggestions are for the restaurant - suggest a few more lower-carb option and the glasses of wine were very small - 4 sips for $15 Hahn was disappointing but the food was fantastic and service great! Great having a Marriott right on Main St verses only the Courryard. I’m in LP monthly so I plan to stay often. Nice having access to run around the lake, stroll on Main St and many dining options nearby (although I like the restaurants in Saranac Lake a bit better - try Bitters & Bones for a fun bar/restaurant scene) Great job on this new hotel!

This hotel had every conceivable amenity you could ask for in a stay. From a comfortable bed in a clean room, a wonderful full breakfast in a beautiful space, a great pool, ping pong, warm afternoon cookies in front of a lit fire, to a welcoming staff. It is a great value for you money and as a bonus, a great location in Lake Placid!

I’ve been coming to LP for over 40 years and stayed at various hotels and camps . I was looking for something newer and saw this hotel driving by it the last time we visited. We had a standard room with no balcony which didn’t overlook the lake. You need to book when there’s no sports event etc going on for a better choice. The room was clean, bed was quite comfortable , ac kept the room super cool. For the price, breakfast buffet was included. This was good and very convenient. We enjoyed the busy location for a change . Normally we like total quiet but this time it was fun to watch everyone enjoying themselves on the beach etc. It’s convenient to walk into town too. I didn’t care for the typical hotel pillows that squash to nothing but next time we will bring our own.. No biggie. The staff was interested in making sure yourre pleased and were helpful to us. We recommend

Comfortable hotel with a smallish room but adequate. Great position on the hill overlooking Main Street. I looked out over the garden area to Mirror Lake and the picturesque church on its edge. In the snow it was magical. Breakfast was good with lots of choice even if it didn’t change at all in 2 weeks Lunch menu was simple but covered all bases. Snacks at the bar were good (a portion of fries would have fed a family) They served a couple of excellent local beers on draft and a full range of wines and spirits. The evening food at a couple of receptions was good, well prepared and tasty. Reception staff were helpful - checking in was simple and my IMG card accepted despite its age. My room was cleaned at least every 2-3 days and trash removed daily. I have no problem with pulling up my own sheets! Some of the rooms were a walk away from reception but most had good views. The gym was limited and basic but had enough kit and just enough space tho it would be tight with more than 3 or 4 exercisers Overall I could not fault it even quite close to the bar noise was never a problem. I would book there again if the occasion arose
Rodeway Inn Lake Placid

Pretty good for what it is. It was the only hotel in the area that still had rooms at a reasonable price right before New Years. Furniture is old and basic, but clean. Nice to have a hot tub on cold, snowy nights. We were just passing through the area, but this was definitely a good home-base for doing things around Lake Placid for a day. Breakfast was fairly sp****, but Rodeways don't usually have breakfast at all, so I wasn't expecting anything.
