Hotel Avalon

Just returned from quick trip to Germany and had the pleasure of staying at this gem of a small hotel. Headed here from Ramstein AFB due to hotel worker strike on base and upon recommendation of passenger terminal customer service who’d received great feedback from departing personnel (plus per night with hot breakfast less than half cost of base hotel). Only a short 15 Euro taxi ride to Landstuhl. There is elevator access to hotel rooms on left side of entrance to back courtyard, vs stair access via right side reception. Hotel owner/operators, Mike and Isabel, are very welcoming and helpful. Its an easy walk to anywhere in town, including Landstuhl station which has better service than Ramstein. Local tourist office is right next door, plus the bus stop of the hourly 160 bus to Ramstein town bus station. We would happily stay here again. Should have taken a photo of the beautiful Chris**as decorations!

We stayed here for two nights to begin our travels in Germany. Location was good for local restaurants, and Schloss Nanstein (Landstuhl Castle), bus stops, and a grocery store are in walking distance. Room was comfortable and clean. Wifi worked great. The breakfast buffet had a good assor**ent to choose from, including lebkuchen, and a pot of tea (which I so appreciated!) Oh, did I mention it was budget friendly? It is! The owners were friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in Landstuhl or Ramstein. Do be aware there is no elevator, so you will need to climb stairs.
