For my wife’s and my 10th wedding anniversary, I booked 2 nights at Pine River Ranch with their “Country and Western Package”. Their webpage described the package as “Experience a day as a cowpoke, complete with horseback riding, local beer or wine, and a special gift to remember your stay.” The details of the package said it included “A day of trail riding.” It turns out, the trail ride was only 90-minutes long. We were both very surprised and disappointed when the ride was over so soon. When I asked Patrick if it was supposed to be that short, he said ‘yes’ and that most folks were pretty sore after 90 minutes and probably couldn’t handle a full day. He claimed that the description on the web page wasn’t meant to mean a literal day but more of a figurative ‘your day’. Not sure what that means. When we got home, I wrote to Patrick and suggested that he update his web page to say that the ride is only 90-minutes long so others wouldn’t experience the same disappointment as we did. His response was, “I sent the information to our marketing team so they can make some updates.” That was over a month ago (June 4, 2022) and nothing has been updated. So, I’m writing this review so that others don’t make the same assumption we did. That said, the cabin was comfortable and cute. The breakfasts were OK. The 9am breakfast with a 10am check-out time felt very rushed. Though, Patrick using the gas-powered weed-whacker outside our cabin window at 9:30am helped motivate us to get going. No one else seemed to be staying in any of the other cabins, so I have no clue why he couldn’t have weed-whacked elsewhere until after we left.
