We had our wedding on 28.03.2024 here at the Woodlands and it was THE most incredible day. The staff are such an amazing, friendly and happy team. Our day ran so smoothly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was outstanding with a lot of our guests saying it’s the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The venue is super stunning with a very spacious, well lit, beautifully decorated orangery and gorgeous gardens and outside space for the all important photos. Perfect for any form of celebrations. We would highly recommend and wish we could celebrate our special day here all over again.

We had our wedding at Woodlands Hotel in Summer 2023 and the day was perfect from start to finish. Prior to our wedding day, the service we got from the wedding coordinators and all of the staff at the venue was fantastic - they took all of our needs on board and turned it into the most amazing day. The orangery is a really lovely room which was transformed from an intimate ceremony room to a beautiful wedding breakfast area. The food and drinks were all absolutely brilliant. All of the staff were friendly and looked like they were enjoying the day as much as the guests which was great to see. The hotel rooms at the venue are lovely too. All in all the venue, the staff, the food and facilities make this the most perfect place to get married and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Big thanks to Jess, Abbigail, Marc, Charlotte and Simon for all their help and for making it such a memorable day!

My Family and I were booked in at Woodlands yesterday for Xmas Dinner. It cost £90 for adults and £40 for a child. Drinks were not included. We paid £1760 in total. The whole event was absolutely appalling: no Chris**as Decorations, no Chris**as Crackers and no bread rolls on the table. The starter was a few prawns on a lettuce leaf. The beef we ordered comprised a lump of stewed beef with 7 green beans and a spoon of mashed potato.....no veggies no roast potatoes and no Yorkshire Puddings. The dish was totally inadequate. The Roast Turkey dinners were pathetic, with dried up veggies, Brussel sprouts the size of marbles and one tiny pig in blanket. We had one dish of cranberry sauce for the entire table (despite several requests for more) and we were told that they had run out of horseradish sauce. The cheesecake wasn't cheese cake, it was actually a chocolate mouse. The other deserts were awful....a pathetic excuse for deserts. We were not served Mince pies and I had to go to the kitchen to ask for some. I honestly don't know how they can justify charging so much for this pathetic excuse for a Xmas Dinner. Here are a few comments from our group: "No Santa visit / present for the kids which there has been before." "Those that had soup said it was clap cold" "When the carpaccio got put down in front of William he laughed out loud. Two segments of beetroot and two shrivelled up slices of beef that looked like dried meat.. like biltong" "The menu said that the soup came with a warm bread roll. We said is there bread coming and he said no I don’t think so but I can try find some, by the time it came I’d finished my soup 😂 "3 kids at £40 each. The kids were supposed to have ice cream sundae….. it was a few scoops of sorbet in a bowl with some marshmallows thrown on top"

Went to a Chris**as do on 15th Dec. Food was good but DJ awful in his choice of music. A member of the party gave him a playlist. Rubbish crackers that didn't crack ! Many people at event left early. Very disappointing

Stayed on 13th December 2024 in room 24, penthouse suite. Last minute booking. Hotel is away from the bright lights of Leeds, about a ten minute taxi journey. Hotel building is stunning. Room was superb and for £130 a night really good value. This is the room you should try to get if you can. Bar excellent, I didn’t eat in the hotel but the menu looked very nice… Two main points…. WiFi is a bit hit and miss and couldn’t get it at all in my room. But the best thing is the staff. Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t do enough for you. Whoever trains them does a brilliant job. Girl behind the bear - ‘hello sir, what can I get you” as I approached the bar. “Don’t call me sir, please, my name is Andrew” I said. Ten minutes later as I was coming to the end of my Guinness, “Andrew would you, like another Guinness?” That’s proper service… Superb, I’m staying here all the time now instead of Clayton or the Marriott.

Thanks to the staff who were on duty 6th Dec and who made my mums 90th birthday afternoon tea a lovely experience for her. She had a really happy afternoon out and particularly enjoyed the selection of cakes and glass of proseco. Thankyou very much.

We spent two snowy nights here at the beginning of December 2023. The hotel grounds look gorgeous under a blanket of snow and the hotel, originally a large Victorian house, still managed to be warm and draught-free. Our room, which was a complimentary upgrade as we were the only guests staying, was nicely decorated and generously sized, with more than enough space for the six-foot bed which was comfortable with very good pillows. There was a desk where you could sit and look down over the terrace, with hardwood tables and chairs and steps down to large lawn and well-stocked shrub borders to the woodland beyond. The M62 can be heard quietly roaring in the distance but as it was winter and we didn't have the windows open, this wasn't a problem. This noise would be difficult to ignore in the otherwise peaceful garden. There were also two tub chairs so we weren't short of seating options. Tea and coffee and a kettle were provided in the room and the friendly staff were happy to provide jugs of fresh milk as we didn't want the UHT milk portions laid out. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable and with a gorgeous view of the lawn and woodland beyond. Despite us both being quite technical, we couldn't get to grips with the room's central heating/air con. The coat hangers have the hook permanently attached to the rail so you can only hang clothes in the wardrobe. As I have recently had a knee replacement, I would have liked the lift to be working. The double-ended bath was, in length and breadth, the biggest I've ever seen and after a long, snowy drive, we couldn't wait to try it. It would have been a highlight - if there had been any hot water! When we queried the lukewarm water, we were told that we 'just' had to run the shower for 15 minutes and then there would be hot water. Unfortunately, even after wasting water for a quarter of an hour, this wasn't the case. It was the hot side of warm but, that's not enough, frankly. And I'm not going to waste fifteen minutes' water just to have a wash, so had a cold wash in the mornings. Flannels are provided - a definite plus! There was no hand-held shower attachment in the bath or the generously-sized separate shower so one cannot just wash one's hair (if one does not want a warmish bath or shower). We had tried three times over the previous day (Saturday) to telephone the hotel - with no answer- to ask if the restaurant would be open on the Sunday evening. Eventually we got hold of Reception as we drove up on Sunday, to be told they had a function on and so the restaurant was not available. Upon arrival, we went for a hot drink in the bar, only to be asked if we would be eating at the hotel that evening. We explained we had been refused and so had booked elsewhere, to be told that they would serve us a meal if we wished. The full English breakfast, at £15/head, was a choice of cereals and what tasted like 'from concentrate' orange juice, then a menu selection for cooked breakfas

We recently had our wedding at The Woodlands and we had the most perfect day. The staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We booked quite a few of the bedrooms for our guests for both the night before and night of the wedding. All the rooms were of a really high standard and all had their own style. The bridal suite was huge! And had a gorgeous roll top bath. I loved the fact that the morning after the wedding, we had our own breakfast room for our guests and us to eat together and chat about the day before. I booked the bridal prep room for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in and they really had thought of everything in there. Spacious, spotless and two dressing tables with a ring light. The make up artist and hairdresser had bags of room to get us all ready in time. I would highly recommend the Prosecco breakfast too! We got married in the orangery which is a big spacious room with a lovely neutral floor. No tacky carpet! The glass roof was so lovely and the sun shone through. At night we had mood lighting all round the ceiling and wall lights which made it such a great a**osphere. The food was fantastic and the room dressing was just lovely. The communication with our coordinator Abbigail was fantastic throughout, friendly, helpful and she was great at answering all our questions really quickly. Mark, the toas**aster made the day fun with hi-energy and made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it to be. I honestly can’t thank The Woodlands enough for making us feel so special. They have so many weddings there but on your day it’s only your wedding at the hotel and it’s made all about you.

We had our wedding ceremony and celebration at Woodlands. It is a beautiful setting both inside and out. The orangery is so beautiful and we were fortunate enough to having reception drinks outside. The whole day ran incredibly smoothly from start to finish. The manager Charlotte, wedding coordinator Jessica and their team made sure that everything was well organised and on time. It meant that we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day (which was amazing being a control freak!). The food was beautiful and the a**osphere all day and night was fun and relaxed. The rooms were all filled by our guests and were all very nice. It was all more than I could have wished for!
