Sadly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had and I travel quite a bit. The room is like a coffin, it is so incredibly small. For someone with claustrophobia, it is extremely challenging to be in a space like this. The window looked to the side of the train station, which only increased the confined feeling. The shower stall (separate from the toilet) is also small and the water would fill up and run out onto the bedroom floor. The shower water only get warm, but never hot. I reached out to the hotel (Nadia at the front desk) about this and she refused to help me and in addition to being quite rude about the situation, she suggested I pay an additional $65 Euro a night to switch rooms (which was $35 euro more than what is being advertised for the night on Expedia/booking). Her reasoning was that I’d already checked in -this seamed ridiculous to me because obviously I’d have to check in to know what the room experience is. All around, she didn’t care about my level of comfort which was quite disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying in this hotel ever. There is also a lot of construction going on around the hotel which isn’t directly related to the hotel but still a nuisance.

This hotel is located in Aldama district which is not the best for families- lots of bars/night life and you may find yourself in a bad neighborhood if you make the wrong turn. Facilities are really spacious for a family of four and surprisingly very quiet once inside because it’s away from the street. There is a couple of very good restaurants that kids loved. Service was terrible - no one to be found to check in until after 10 am but some nice people let us in to wait inside the lobby . After check in we wouldn’t call anyone to get towels - we had none upon checkin and we asked for more then went out for dinner and came back at 8 pm and still no towels. The “sister” hotel takes no responsibility but gave us towels after we walked down to get them. If you don’t mind not being able to reach anyone for most of your stay then you’ll be ok

Best hotel we stayed in at this trip! We will only choose Sao Vicente Alfama Hotel every time we are in Lisbon. The staff made our stay really memorable with their courteous, welcoming smiles, breakfast was impeccable, even our tour guide, Carlos did an awesome job taking us to beautiful but less touristy places. The hotel is very comfortable and needless to say, BEAUTIFUL! Our driver Sarah, is also worth mentioning. During our trip to the airport, she told us stories of lisbon that made us want to go back to this city once again!

I see many varied reviews, with most reviews on the positive and I must say that is my experience as well. The accommodation was exactly as represented and the staff efficient, kind and helpful. The suite is spacious, the mattress comfortable and quality linens and towels are provided. The kitchenette does well for breakfast and lunch as a kitchenette. The concrete floor was good in the heat and the open air courtyard well done. There is at least on small minimart nearby and two well reviewed restaurants very close. The tram does go right by, and not an issue on the river side. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that the safety box in the room is too small for a standard iPad. But the staff were gracious in securing the ipad while I was out.
