Hotel Garda Bellevue

Before I went to this hotel after reading the bad reviews I was extremely worried as it sounded horrendous. But that wasn’t our experience at all . The location of the hotel is excellent and as well as that we found the management and staff to be extremely helpful .The hotel is very clean and our room was very nice . We would definitely return again .

The rooms were basic but functional though more wall plugs would have been appreciated. The bathroom was clean and everything worked. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful as were the bar staff. There was a garage across the road and overnight parking was €7. AC OK but wifi in reception only which was a pain. Breakfast was a shambles with reconstituted scrambled eggs, a toaster that didn’t work, fruit that was too unripe to eat, juice that was made from watered down concentrate and disgusting coffee - the croissants were good though! We refused to risk dinner there which appeared to be the domain of bus parties and groups. There was an expensive supermarket just 30m down the hill (owned by the hotel?) which was conveniently close. At €150 per night in September, you pay well for what you get!

Family trip in the Garda area. Nice hotel not big rooms but provide 2 people and very clean. Air conditioning works well. The internet in the first days was horrible but after a few days it improved a lot and there were almost no disconnections. Breakfast is relatively good compared to other hotels at the same level. There are 2 pools. One internal and one external are not bad at all. There is a possibility to park in an underground car park at a cost of 7 euros per day. Great location 5 minutes walk to the lake shore and 15 minutes walk from the promenade and the city with the bustling promenade in shops and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is not for people who enjoy food! I was so looking forward to beautiful pasta dishes, cooked to perfection but I was sadly extremely disappointed. Each day you had to choose a starter and a main course for the following day! 3 choices of starters, 2 of which were usually pasta or noodles and 3 choices for main. If the main was chicken with roast potatoes you literally received a small piece of chicken with about 8 small cubes of potatoes - no vegetables and no seconds. Portion size was the same for everyone - small! I watched other people being as disappointed as I was. Who offers ‘a selection of cheeses’ or ‘melon and Parma ham’ as a main course? The table at which you were seated remained yours for the length of your stay and was the same number as your room number. We were very lucky that ours was at the front window overlooking the lake but that was only because we had changed rooms. Having booked a twin room we were given a small double bed which couldn’t be separated so asked for a different room. If we had kept the initial room number our table at dinner would have been bang in the middle! We gave up eating the evening meals after 4 days and ate out in Limone as there were plenty of lovely restaurants and not overpriced. I have to say that the buffet breakfast was fairly good although the only hot food offered daily was scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and bacon. The fruit selection was really good. Also, in the evening you could help yourself to the salad bar but nothing changed with that - the same food on offer each day. Apart from the food the hotel was ok, no more, no less. Tiny rooms with small balconies which could barely seat 2 people. The hotel is set fairly high up overlooking the lake, so beautiful views, but not great for anyone with poor mobility. We travelled with Newmarket Holidays, going on coach trips for 4 days, for each of them we had to meet the coach transfer at the coach park in Limone, which involved a 5 - 10 minute walk down a steep hill and back up at the end of the day. The coach wouldn’t drop us outside the Hotel even though it drove past it - bizarre. Ladies, if you need to use the hairdryer you will need a lot of time! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hairdryer like it - it’s a hose attached to the wall which you have to keep clicked out for it to work - plus it has no directional capability at all! All in all, a dreadful hotel which I shan’t be revisiting, and by the way, it’s exactly the same at it’s sister hotel, Hotel Azzura, so beware and avoid at all costs.

The hotel is situated at the top of a hill with a gentle incline down to the centre of town, 5 minutes walk. We went half board and received a buffet breakfast and a dinner consisting of 4 courses. A buffet salad to start then a choice of 3 dishes for the 2nd and 3rd courses and a choice of two desserts. The bar area was very pleasant with some light entertainment on some evenings. The hotel also has an outdoor and indoor swimming pool and a wellness centre down some stairs. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the lack of communication between the front desk and customers, we missed a day trip to Verona because of this. Luckily for us the Newmarket holiday rep got us onto a Verona trip a day later.

After reading the reviews I was anxious about going however my experience of Garda Bellevue is nothing but good, we arrived late around 3am we was met by the night staff and shown to our room quickly. The room was big and more than adequate, lovely and clean and made back that way each morning with the cleaning staff. The hotel staff was always polite and friendly and showed us to our table each morning. Can’t comment on evening meals as we was only bed & breakfast but usual breakfast (cereals, fruit, egg & bacon etc) The spa is a hidden gem - highly recommended . The location is great about 5 minute walk to the lake front. Absolutely loved our stay.

Having just got back from Lake Garda and stayed at this hotel two good points, the great location and cleanliness. Rude reception, no information about the hotel or area in reception just left to get on with it and no Newmarket Rep seen apart from on coach trips! I could write a lot more here but it has been sent directly to Newmarket Holidays.

Stayed here in June, was part of a tour and didn’t know where we were staying until we got here. The location of the hotel is great - a little walk down into Limone was perfect. The hotel itself was far from perfect. We arrived and checked in and were given absolutely no information from the hotel about the facilities available, the room, how to work the shutters, pools etc. One of the (I think) managers was very rude. When we went for our evening meal after arrival - we sat at a table not knowing that actually we had allocated tables however this had not been explained to any of us. Other staff were helpful and friendly it just seemed to be this one particular staff member. Pools were great, we used both the indoor and outdoor pool. The room was very dated and small however we only spend a small amount of time in the room so can deal with that however the poor quality of the room - such as sockets hanging off the wall, sockets that dont accept the standard adapters, really old noisy aircon, it just didnt feel like the 4 star rating that it was supposed to be. As for the food - breakfast was great, the salads available at night were great but the rest of the menu and hot food not so great! Seemed to just get dessert thrust at us without being given an option even though there was an option - it just didn’t live up to what we expected. However that being said we got on with our holiday and had a fab time. I just wouldn’t choose to stay at this hotel again.

Stayed earlyJune 22 at this nicely located hotel in Limone close to the shores of Lake Garda. About the best that can be said. Our tour operator avoided telling our group details of our hotel “allocated on arrival”. Little staff manager was rude, restaurant staff not at all cheerful and reluctantly helpful, chef couldn’t accompany vegetable with main meals, (have extra salad!) or create variable menu. The rooms - no USB charging facility, two points nothing cold fit and doors and draws couldn’t fully open (no room). Tiled floors through which you can hear dragging of chairs and furniture in other rooms ( night time & early morning arrivals/departures). This definitely is not a 4 star hotel , personally it’s tough to even call it 3 star.
