As a regular PI customer, I would no longer recommend them. On our recent stay we had a poor response from PI staff after bringing to their attention several issues in our family room (bathroom tap broken, missing sink plug, aircon switching off all the time, broken wardrobe, TV not working properly due to broken remote). However by far the biggest issue was the bed which had a dodgy base, causing roll-together and it to creak loudly with any movement, waking us up throughout our first night. Brought this to the staff attention first thing in the morning. They checked it while we were out and said they could find nothing wrong. We asked a staff member to come to the room and demonstrated the issue, which they accepted was a problem. After much negotiation were reluctantly offered an accessible room, but no bed for our son, even though there was plenty of space to pop one in for the night. We were told if we wanted to be together we could "all sleep in the same bed" as it was bigger, or son could stay in the old room down the hall on his own. Also told us to "keep it quiet" that they'd offered us a different room as they were "doing us a favour" and would get in trouble if anyone found out, giving us strict instructions "not to mention it at check out". Although there were plenty of adjacent Premier Plus rooms available on the floor above, which would have kept us close together as a family, this was not an option these as we'd only booked a 'standard' room (they don't do Premier Plus family rooms - only doubles). Things go wrong during hotel stays, I accept that, but it is how a company rectifies problems that shows its quality and integrity. Being made to 'feel grateful' for a service we had bought and paid for, is not good customer service and if staff feel 'at risk' for helping customers, it does not reflect well on PI's training or employee treatment. Sadly since the introduction of Premier Plus rooms, the quality and basic maintenance of standard rooms has declined considerably, along with the service. Do not rely on the good night sleep guarantee - it does not exist.
