A very good hotel. The environment and decoration are very good. Except that the restaurant is a bit low in price, everything is very good. Highly recommended

What an incredible experience! This hotel is truly one that f a kind in terms of the property itself- but also in regards to the amenities and service provided by their diligent and attentive staff. From dining at the many incredible restaurants to watching whales from our balcony and at the pool, Solaz was the best hotel in every way.

I’ve stayed at most luxury hotels in Cabo including Las Ventanas, Esperanza, The Zadun and more. This hotel is a far cry from being at the level of these other properties. Disappointing service, food and music. Plus it’s right off the highway and met with sounds of rushing cars 24/7. We stayed here for 3 nights in April. We had paid for an upgrade for a room with a plunge pool. Upon arrival the room wasn’t ready so we went to a mediocre lunch at the main restaurant. I will say the views from lunch are stunning. We were taken to our room and the plunge pool was not a pool but more a tiny box of water and was connected to all the neighboring rooms with no privacy and no view. The neighbors were loud and on top of us and smoking pot. We asked to move to a normal room, which was the right call. The views were fabulous and there was total privacy. The issue is they won’t give us a refund for the upgrade. We’ve asked at least 5 times and are owed over $600 and no one will respond. I’m shocked at how hard it is to get a reply. It’s completely unprofessional. This is in line with the weird service we received while at the hotel. They would often look dumbfounded with simple requests. Food onsite was mediocre at best. We had breakfast everyday and this was the best they had, but the menu was very limited and they were basically forcing you into the buffet. Buffet was really expensive. Also location of the breakfast restaurant was odd. Barely any views and up far from the beach. Why not utilize the oven front restaurant for breakfast? Again for the high end dinner restaurant, way up on the property and food disappointing. The rooms were nicely decorated and had very nice bath products (Byredo). The pools were large with stunning views and all very different temperatures, some being very warm and others quite cold. The gym was small and popular so there was often a wait for items. They should have a bigger gym given the size of the property. They wouldn’t let Ubers come on the property, again something I’ve never seen at any other hotel. The beach is not swimmable but nice for long walks. I wouldn’t stay here again, mostly because of the terrible service. Cabo usually has some of the best service and this hotel is truly lacking.

I had a wonderful time and experience for this visit at Solaz. It was my 2nd time there for my birthday just a getaway and it did not disappoint. Amazing time experience and staff and customer service was amazing. Joshua and Diego from the Artisan team were amazing! They were very attentive and a great help. Overall the stay was 5/5 Amazing resort would definitely visit again

The property is lush and tranquil, the infinite pools and access to beach are great, and the food and beverage options are plentiful and quality. Loved the Italian restaurant, it was legit. Maritza at Mako and Rafael (guest services/butler) made my birthday getaway memorable with 5 star service, I mean a Mezcal Margarita cart showed up at my door on my actual bday.

I'm going to start with the cons, since that's what most of us are looking for when reading these reviews and this place has a few: - Room charges: this resort will use an inflated exchange rate to charge your credit card in Mexican Pesos, so your room will end up costing more than the rate you booked on their website. I saw another review on Google that mentioned them doing this, and it happened to me. They also "forgot" the resort credit and when that was credited to my card, it was somehow at an exchange rate that was favorable to the hotel as well (being slightly less than what it was in USD). So a heads up to check your bills and keep this in mind if you are comparing the price of this to another resort. We have stayed in Mexico many times and never had this happen elsewhere. -Also, they sell day passes to those not staying at the resort. We had a family of six some sit near us on the beach with their own coolers of beer and mentioned this. Seems odd for the luxury vibe they are going for. -In addition, we did not have housekeeping show up to clean our room at any point in our stay. On our third (and last) full day, I asked the lobby staff to send someone to clean while we were at the beach - anytime between 9-3. We arrived back in the room and no housekeeping had come. They did finally send someone after another phone call. -As others have said, the food/beverage service at the pools and beach is a bit chaotic. Hard to know who is serving you. One day was great, the next we had to track someone down to order. -They automatically charge a 15 percent service fee on every food and beverage purchase - not bad necessarily, but something to be aware of. -Traditional style rooms with balconies are a LONG way from the pools and beach. -Bathrooms are open to the room which may be a bit awkward if traveling with friends. Pros: Lovely grounds Clean rooms Lots of pool chairs and space, pool temperature is nice. Beach at hotel is swimmable, which is not the case in most of Cabo. Friendly staff Not a bad experience - outside of the overcharging - but we wouldn't stay again. We stayed at the Le Blanc last time and would choose that over this resort.

This is about the 10th visit the Solaz. From the time I pull into the hotel- a huge Smile is on my face. The majority of the staff remembers me and will greet me with a Huge Hug. Shout out especially to Octavio -he is wonderful. He is always there to greet me and help in any way. The Staff is fabulous. The Pool area is always clean and the staff is very attentive. From the minute you walk to the Pool area there is someone to arrange your towels on the chairs and fix the umbrella. The Waitstaff is always near and checking to make sure you have everything you need. The Breakfast Buffett is so Top notch- variety of choices. Mako Restaurant gets better every time. Sakagura Restaurant has the best Spicy Tuna Roll and great service. All in all one of my favorite places to visit- I have already booked another getaway for July.

I had once visited this place back in 2021, and I did not have a good time. I once spoke about all of this in my blog back in the day, but that blog is long gone, and here I am. Once having reached the location of the Solaz, if it's not one of their own ripoff taxis, they will not let your Uber inside the gate. That's for both entering and exiting the premises, during any time. At night time we had requested to have an Uber to pick us up from the Solaz, so that we could head out to the Metate Cabo restaurant. But once having gone down, they had informed us that our ride was waiting for us outside of the gate just down the street. Upon arrival they will talk your ear off about everything positive that's in-store, and proceed to walk you down to one of their restaurants just down by the beach side. They will walk you there without ever checking you into your room first. They do this for two reasons. For one, obviously they want to make money off of you, and for two, they don't want you checking into your room super early, for reasons I'm not quite sure of. I say all of this with the utmost confidence, because my wife had gone back just some years later with her parents, and in that same visit, they had also did the exact same routine in holding off her room until some hours later, claiming that the room wasn't finished just as of yet. Just know that if they don't check you and your party in for say 4-6 hours upon arrival, that it's most likely the norm. It doesn't even matter if it's one day that you are spending, this will happen for sure. I would have given this place an even lower score, just based off of that time my wife had went solo with her parents. She had said that she an awful time arguing with the front desk for a room upgrade, based off of her status. The hotel had claimed that there wasn't any upgrades that were available, and that the hotel was fully booked, only to later admit there was one the whole time. But as usual, this sort of discovery couldn't be announced until around 4-6 hours later. Let's also not to forget to mention, that this hotel has hills for days. They have so many hills in fact, that I'm surprised there wasn't golf carts supplied to everyone like it is at places such as Catalina Island. Your calf muscles have to be real strong to journey around this place. The food wasn't bad, I guess that's a plus. One star for that food. Would never waste my time in visiting here ever again. Horrible service.

Amazing resort. Great restaurants, pool areas and very friendly staff. The views are just so good. Bar is top notch. Very impressed with Anthony, our server from the riccio restaurant went above and beyond to serve us and get everything we needed.

My wife and I on a three-day getaway. We sought out luxury and we got it at Solaz. The landscaping and architecture are breathtaking and will not disappoint. Staying in one of the plunge pool suites the view out our windows were remarkable and architectural magic as it looked like an unobstructed desert scape view to the ocean (through color and roof-top landscaping they make the buildings disappear). Check-in was friendly, fast, and unremarkable. Our room was not ready until check-in time but we were immediately notified and shown to the room when it was. The decorating, cleanliness, and feel of the rooms did not disappoint. Perfect. The pools, beach, and facilities were all first-class. We enjoyed all of our meals at the on-site restaurants with Riccio di Mare being a standout. Also particularly enjoyed a lunch we had at Baja Beach. For alcohol there were numerous drink options and solid wine lists to include in-house sommeliers. What makes Solaz worthy of high-regard and a certain return visit from us are the staff. From start to finish, from Artisan Butler to Landscapers, friendly, engaged, and made us feel welcome and very well taken care of. We were fortunate to have “artisan butlers” assigned with Josue and Raul, and these gentlemen made it their mission to ensure everything was perfect. On the pool-deck Pedro and Iriving knew our names and preferences well before we knew theirs. Julio behind the bar was talented not on classics but his own creations. In the restaurants, all the servers and support staff were on point but Victor had a true charisma at Riccio di Mare. Simply put virtually every staff member was deserving of mention. I hope Solaz can keep up this quality of staff as they really did make the trip for us. A notable caveat is we visited during Spring Break which really pushed up occupancy and the overall kid-count, lending to some minor issues that although the hotel staff worked hard to mitigate, could perhaps be better handled through hotel policy/procedure in the future. No adults only section - from pools to hot tubs to actual pool bar, numerous unsupervised (or limited supervision) kids running around. I certainly want families to have fun but this can, and did, come at the expense of the couples. Lounge Chair availability - the "chair-grab" started as early as 0600 leaving limited options by 0900. Some more "obvious" attempts to reserve chairs and return hours later were cleared by staff but on one day at 0845 the chairs were almost 100% covered in towels or other method with only 10% actually being occupied. We have seen this same issue at lesser resorts and I don't have a real solution but to say it was a frustrating aspect of our stay and not as much of an issue at comparable resorts in our past experience. A Spring Break only problem? I will begrudgingly admit to schlepping down to the pool area on our last day before breakfast...."if you can't beat them, join them" I suppose..... Although

This place is incredible! The architecture and grounds are amazingly beautiful. We enjoyed our time on the property, taking in the lovely view of the ocean and the buildings and landscaping. You must try the daily breakfast buffet- yum! A special shout out to our butlers Raul and Joshua and our servers on the beach Irving and Pedro. Cesar also took immaculate care of our beach chairs. If you are considering going here… Go!

One of the best beach resorts we’ve been to. We went with our 5-year-old for her Spring Break and had an amazing time. The place is kid-friendly without compromising luxury. There were lots of other kids there (it being spring break) but it didn’t feel overrun by kids. Our room (one bedroom suite with plunge pool) was gorgeous and spacious, and central to everything. We loved the outdoor areas (both the entrance/outdoor shower, and patio/plunge pool). The kitchen/living area were huge, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was spacious with great products. Every single staff member is fantastic. We didn’t meet a single employee with anything less than an enthusiastic, welcoming attitude. Our personal butlers, Raul and Raphael, were attentive and incredibly helpful with making and cancelling restaurant reservations, including off-property, and other things we needed help with. The spa is divine. We arrived over an hour early and were able to enjoy the locker rooms, pools, sauna, etc. The locker room attendant was a special touch. Fanny helped me set up my shower before my treatments, but the best touch was putting my wet swimsuit in a heated dryer so it would be dry when I put it back on after my treatments. Both my massage and facial were amazing. All of our meals were very good, but Al Pairo was really the winner. It was more of an authentic Mexican restaurant, though the food and service at Mako and Ricci were very good as well. Breakfast at Cascabel was one of the best/most unique buffets I’ve seen. Our daughter had a great time at the kids club and begged to return. There were at least 10 other kids there to keep her company, and she loved the teachers. The pools are beautiful and heated. The pool attendants and servers are fast and gracious. Cesar and Brandon are particularly wonderful and went above and beyond. It was in the 70s and sunny our whole stay, and though it can get chilly and windy at night, there are blankets available at dinner. Overall, we will definitely plan to return. Yes, it is expensive, but for us it was well worth it.

the resort is beautiful but the service is absolutely horrible. we stayed in club level with butler service and didn’t see him the entire trip. very little help. for a 5 star cash pay resort, food and beverage service are incredibly slow. minimum of 30-45 min to get any food or drink service at the pool. waited 40 min for a table at the breakfast buffet at about 30% occupancy and saw our server twice. we barely got served coffee let alone any other beverages. don’t waste your money. go to le blanc or garza.

Overall it was a good experience but I don't think it's worth the money. Things we liked: The grounds are beyond beautiful, the whales putting on a show all day was my favorite part, the rooms were very simple and beautiful. I felt like I was in a spa while in my room. The pool by the beach was sooo warm and inviting, the bar tenders and servers were very nice and not pushy, the room attendant was adorable and even brought us a shot glass with lime when she saw our tequila bottle. The food at the main restaurant by the beach was great and my fish at the Italian restaurant was really good. They made fresh water available to you whenever you wanted it for free. Great pillows and soft beds. Very clean overall. Uber was easy from the hotel to Cabo or San Jose. What we didn't like: The spa pricing is the highest I have ever seen, much higher than a Ritz. Same with the food, I got a smoothie with protein after my workout and the little plastic container was 23.00 US. NO smoothie is ever worth that amount of money. The Avocado toast was more than 25 dollars too and it was good but not all that big. The biggest disappointment was the workout room- it was very small and the few machines they had were very good but they were all being used because you can't walk on the beach because of the terrain and swimming is very dangerous here so everyone wants to use the machines to get some movement. Also, there was only one set of weights and the lightest weights were 4kg which is over 8 lbs. I am an older lady and 8 lbs is too heavy for some exercises so I had no options. Also, one day I went to do a little workout and a lady had the 3 lowest dumbells on her mat. No one else could use the weights because she hoarded all of them. There were only 3 or 4 yoga mats so sometimes you could get them but other times, no such luck. There was not much room to do a workout on your own, I went outside to do my workout but I had to find workouts with no weights, no bands (they didn't have any resistance bands) or anything extra. I couldn't believe they didn't offer classes of some sort or anything. There wasn't even a person in the workout area that could help you if you had an issue. It is not a place you want to go if you are a workout person. The website is also terrible- you can't learn much about that hotel from the website. I assumed all of these things that were important to me would be available at the price we were paying, but I was wrong. Don't assume because you booked a king bed that they are going to give you a king bed. It's all upon availability, nothing is guaranteed. I have never had that happen before that I booked a king bed and was told we had to sleep in queen beds. We fought for it and they figured it out but that was a horrible first hour at the hotel. In my experience Mexico has always been a place where you can find good deals, you won't find good deals here but the property is beautiful if that's what you
