We stayed here for 2 nights as were attending a nearby wedding. Location was great for what we wanted. Cute village with a Co-op so we could pick up some snacks and drinks nearby. From the get-go, Chris and Heidi were available, friendly, helpful and welcoming. I have stayed in many B&Bs where the hosts are friendly but its clear they are doing it because they feel like they have to and seem to have lost their love for what they do. It could not be more different with Chris and Heidi! They are friendly and chatty without being imposing. So personable and warm, I could have happily sat and chatted with them both for hours! The house is lovely! Very vintage feel but with modern amenities. The mattress was super comfy and it felt like they had thought of almost everything in the rooms and as a person who loves planning and hosting myself, I really appreciated every detail. Would highly recommend this place and a massive thank you to Chris and Heidi for everything during out 2 night stay

Have just returned from a three night break as we were attending a friends funeral nearby. Chris and Heidi made a sad occasion much more bearable. They really are the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts were superb with an amazing selection including Heidi’s home made marmalade and preserves. Would thoroughly recommend Penrose guest house.

We had a wonderful stay at Penrose B&B in Lostwithiel Cornwall. The hosts, Chris & Heidi were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the room comfortable with everything we needed. A great place to see The Eden Project and a town with so much history! We would certainly recommend this B&B

We had an absolutely lovely long weekend at the Penrose B&B. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and charming, a beautifully-kept victorian house. Peaceful and quiet. Heidi and Chris serve excellent cooked-to-order breakfasts and are superb hosts who went out of their way to make our stay really pleasant. They provided lots of suggestions about things to do and places to eat. Lostwithiel is a place to visit in its own right. In addition, it's in quite a good location to explore Cornwall more widely. For a small town, it has some very good restaurants and takeaways.

I simply can’t say enough nice things about this b&b. The owners are absolutely lovely, greeted me with smiles in the car park, helped me with my bags and gave me all the info I needed about the local town (also lovely and an easy stroll from the b&b). The inside of the building is beautifully kept and squeaky clean. Plenty of space in the bedroom and the biggest en suit bathroom I’ve ever seen. Games and books available in the common room. The owners really do think of everything and anything you might need - dressing gowns, toiletries and even a sewing kit just in case. The bed was super comfy and the view from the window is beautiful. I only wish I was staying longer. If you are in the area for any reason, don’t miss out on this place. It’s absolutely fantastic and the price per night is beyond reasonable.

Chris and Heidi greeted us on arrival. That was the very first thing i was impressed with . The room was lovely and beautiful decor but the steps where a fitness work out in its self lol . I loved that it was dated but worked perfectly well. This is one of the best b&b we have ever stayed in . Everything you can think of from tea, coffee , hot chocolate, fruit teas . Biscuits. Boiled sweets cotton buds and lots of other little things that you wouldn't think of but lots of thought has definitely gone into it . I loved the history of the house . The original features and Heidi is more than willing to explain things to you about the history and genuinely proud of her home . Chris or Heidi or both greeted you at breakfast. And let me tell you.that was one of the best cooked breakfast we have had also in any b&b . We was set up.for the day and never actually ate till the evening. Heidi makes her own jam marmalade and chutney and it's worth buying a pot because its lovely 😍 dogs are welcome this is a bonus . location in Lostwithiel is lovely quite after 3pm but that was OK after a long day if driving around Cornwall. Thank you Chris and Heidi for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back ❤ Gethin and penny and lloydie the dog

Our stay at Penrose Bed and Breakfast was just divine. It's wonderfully run, tastefully decorated and kept spotless. Chris and Heidi couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive hosts. We stayed in Room 3 and the decor was absolutely beautiful, from the wallpaper, curtains and bedding to the tiling in the enormous bathroom. Each area had different ceiling roses and chandeliers and there were lovely little touches throughout, including a sewing kit, cotton wool balls/ear buds, boxes of tissues and a bowl of boiled sweets. They had the most varied and well stocked tea tray I've ever seen (including delicious biscuits), along with a corkscrew for life's essentials! Breakfast was superb. The menu provided had a lot of choice, especially for vegetarians and you could help yourself to different cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc before being served a hot fresh cooked option. Heidi makes her own jams and marmalades which were on each table and we also had the opportunity to buy these before we left. Takeaways were allowed, either in your room or the little "snug" which also displayed Heidi's talented photography and artwork. They also promote recycling and local produce. The B&B's location was perfect for us, just on the way out of the village and away from traffic noise. We were able to sit in the stunning gardens (although the weather yesterday put pay to that!). Lostwithiel itself was an absolute delight. Every person we met was so friendly, the shops were eclectic and the streets were clean without an ounce of dog 💩 to be seen anywhere. The pubs were welcoming, decent priced and quirky. We will definitely be making this a regular occurrence. I'm already looking forward to returning. Many thanks for your hospitality.
