First Impressions...not so great. I reserved 2 rooms; one for my 88 year old mother. They put us on opposite ends of 2 different floors. I asked if we could have our rooms closer as I am my mother's caregiver. The lady at the front desk said the hotel was full and she was unable to change our room assignments. However it was 5pm with only a few cars in the parking lot. Surely the hotel was not yet full and one would think rooms could be switched around. The woman at the front desk was not helpful nor was she friendly. Secondly, handicap parking is at the end of the building on the side, much further away than the ”Diamond Elite” spaces directly in front of the hotel. We did not use the handicap space since there were others close by. Thirdly, the rooms are dark and dingy upon entering with a musty smell. Appears clean however. Honestly, I would have asked for my money back but we have been traveling for almost 12 hours and none of the hotel reviews off 475 in Macon were exceptional. It appears safe here and my mom does have a cell phone to contact me if she needs anything, but we will not be back here for sure. I do expect greater things from IHE and am extremely disappointed.

Chose to stay here because the price was reasonable, even with a small dog and was happy to receive great front desk service, a good breakfast. Only stayed one night but I would stay here again. Everything seemed clean. The property is well cared for, even if the rooms were older decor. I recommend this place.

We stayed two nights. Here are the key points (good and bad) 1) not the best neighborhood. Located near an abandoned strip mall that has a lot of activity 2) Beds tended to bend in the middle U shaped 3) Right off the highway (Good) 4) saw one roach but only one 5) plumbing is old. Shower made some real noises 6) wooden floors were nice 7) room was clean 8) smell of heavy perfume/air freshener. It would not have been good for anyone with bad allergies. We asked for the room to not be serviced. The next day it was much more tolerable 9) pool was way overcrowded. It looks like a lot of the neighborhood use the pool. I would not get this hotel if you are renting for a pool 10) AC works VERY well. The room was very cool even on the hot day 11) breakfast was good. Waffle, sausage gravy/biscuit, Cereal, scramble eggs. 12) staff was friendly 13) biggest concern was my perception of safety. We kept all our valuables with us. Nothing left in the car when we slept. Repacked the car when we did sightseeing. There is a lot of nighttime activity outside The security aspect is the primary reason that I can not recommend this hotel for families
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Macon West

We were travelling to Orlando from Ontario Ca for three month stay over the winter. We stopped at this hotel where we had made reservations 2 months before. We had asked for ground floor King Suite but when we got there they didn't have one left. They moved us into a suite that had black markings all over the floor. We didn't want them to think we had done it so told them at the desk and the girl said yes we know about that. My husband said well my wife would prefer a clean one and she said I will discount your room when you check out in the morning. It was quite clear that there were some homeless people living there full time and since it was New Years Eve we stayed in our room to be safe for the night. The next day when we checked out the boy on the desk said he didn't know anything about a discount and he had no authority to do it. Needless to say this will be our last time at a La Quinta in Macon Georgia or probably any where. Very disappointed!!!!

Continental breakfast is good. Parking is free of charge. Very close to Moss University. There are restaurants in the surrounding area, and there are Japanese restaurants opened by Chinese people.
