The Shore Hotel & Residences

We had a pleasant stay at The Shore Hotel & Residences, Melaka. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and came with a balcony, which was a nice bonus. The variety of food available was also impressive, and the meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, we felt that the stay was good value for money. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. On the second day, the room service was rather slow. Housekeeping did not come to clean and tidy the room unless we specifically requested it. I tried calling the reception by dialling “0” several times to request housekeeping, but unfortunately, no one answered. Eventually, I had to go down to the reception counter myself to make the request. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the spacious and comfortable room, cleanliness, and good food. Hopefully, the hotel can improve its housekeeping service and responsiveness to guest requests for an even better experience in the future.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my small family. The main reason I chose this hotel was the water playground pool, which was also the reason I was willing to pay a significantly higher price compared to other hotels in Melaka. However, both my wife and I were extremely disappointed when we were informed upon check-in that the water playground was under maintenance. We were very disappointed and could not understand why the hotel was still charging the same room rate when one of its main attractions was unavailable. When I made a complaint, the hotel told me that if I wanted to cancel my booking, I had to check out immediately in order to receive a full refund. This simply did not make sense. After driving for three hours from Kuala Lumpur, we were exhausted, and the only solution offered was for us to leave the hotel just two hours after checking in. If we had left and looked for another hotel, the prices would most likely have been much higher for a same-day booking, especially since it was already around 5 PM. Therefore, we had no choice but to continue our stay for the two nights we had originally booked. Overall, the service was very disappointing. To make matters worse, the bathtub was also leaking. This was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the price we paid and the main reason we chose this hotel in the first place.

The hotel was amazing! Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Definitely will come again! Highly recommended!

Room was fine for the money. Rooms are clean but the sofa was stained. Washing machine couldn’t be used.

The Shore Hotel is a comfortable place for a getaway. The price includes breakfast, the swimming pool and gym facilities make it excellent value for money.
